viread

Avatar f tn My doctor let me have Viread. I checked online at pharmacy checker. Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate Tablet and Viread Tablet, are they the same in treatment wise? I went to CVS store, it cost 1000 USD to 30/300mg for Viread Tablet. is it too expensive? The staff there told me generic tablet is not available. But why I see it online as I said earlier? What happens if I take brand and then switch to generic like a year later? Will the generic medicine do the same? Thank you.
Avatar m tn Currently DESCOVY 25mg TAF plus 200mg emtricitabine is alead approved for hiv in the USA and canada. It could well be used for hbv, most likely at 1/2 tablet a day for hbv for patients who do not tolerate viread. the emtricitabine. ..also called FTC, is also used in TRUVADA at the same dose, which is frequently used by hepatologists for patients with a suboptimal response to viread.
Avatar m tn I have hepatitis B and i dont have any viread since last friday. I urgently need to buy some viread. Where i can find it ? And a foreigner can live in Singapore witch hepatitis B ? thanks for yours answers.
Avatar m tn My doctor suggested me to take Viread 3months ago. For the 1st month and probably the second month, I felt good with it. Though there is some side effect, I felt energetic those days. In the 3rd month, there was no side effect at all, but I felt easy to be tired again. Had a blood test after 3 months the doctor said the Alt is still a bit higher, and the DNA is reducing but no fully suppressed. Now I suspect the 3rd bottle has no effect.
Avatar f tn My docter said she might want me to swith to viread but im thinking doesnt viread also warn about lactic acidos? Also could it be the fact that I was exercising recently that caused this?
Avatar f tn iam taking baraclude since 18 months and taking viread in cobination since 3 months. iam hoping for e-antigen seroconversion.
Avatar f tn I have been on Viread for 9 months, and I am worry about my ALT and AST level. I recently got 2 blood works done within 2 months apart, the first one shown my AST and ALT level within the range but on the high side 33 and 34, my second test came back with 44 and 47. My HBV is lesser than 20 IU/mL. I didn't do or have anything different during that 2 months. I am concern that the medicine is only helping to kill the virus but not to lower my enzyme level. Please help.
Avatar m tn The active drug for HBV is Viread and I think the FDA recently approved the new HIV cocktail with TAF, which is still Viread but a lower dosage that has less toxicity. With HBV, you still need to monitor your liver by ultrasound or better yet Fibroscan about every 6 months. There is at this point no cure for either, but with medication HIV shouldn't shorten your life and with monitoring HBV you should catch anything early.
Avatar m tn Hi All, I'm new on this forum and have only just recently been diagnosed with chronic hepatitis B, I am 48years old. I had a liver biopsy and was told that my levels are very low (3000), that I'm lowlevel infectious and that I have no scarring. My doctor has prescribed Viread. I have read a little about the medication and learned that it contains lactose. I am lactose intolerant and am not sure what to do, I have not started taking the drug.
Avatar m tn How about Viread and Pegasys? Can you please find out?
Avatar f tn a little higher than normal(lower than 80), the new normal alt level is 19 for women from 2009, 80 is by far abnormal active DNA detected why did you stop viread without any knowledge of your drug and illness, viread is safe for the baby, restart it immediately also to protect baby from hbv there are other pregnant women taking viread here and since viread is also used on hiv the number of babies borne while taking viread is very very high and no problems at all restart viread as soon as poss
Avatar m tn Also, how do they decide if you should be on viread tablets or on the injection (peginterferon)? If your on viread do you have to take it for life? And if you take the peginterferon injection then after one year if hbv dna is undetected can you stop taking all medication? Finally, is the coast of viread tabs close to a 1000dollars a month? Thats damn expensive.
Avatar m tn just try intf+viread and see if hbsag lowers, viread mono will not work on hbsag but intf+viread has high percentages of response
Avatar m tn Stefano and others, thanks for your help. As I posted before, 2 of my relatives are currently undergoing Hepsera monotherapy. I went to a new doctor for a second opinion and the Hepsera-prescribing current doctor for an explanation of treatment choice. The first doctor agreed that Baraclude and Viread are to be dispensed per current AASLD guidelines but, once you've started with Hepsera, there is no need to change. He felt that the resisitance rate for Hepsera (vs.
Avatar m tn the big problem is split viread pills by half, they are made so you cannot split.generics from cipla and other drug makers can be split. but this is not good because we dont know if tenofovir resistance can happen, that trial was only 1 or 2 years.
948882 tn?1270553807 Hepatits B virus Genotype A Plymerase mutations NOT DETECTED PRECORE MUTATIONS NOT DETECTED BCP MUTATIONS NOT DETECTED Tests also mentioned no resistance predicted for treatment with 5 approved drugs. Did not mention VIREAD in the list, probably being a new drug. I am currently taking VIREAD. Does this mean I am an inactive carrier ?
Avatar f tn No don't stop viread and wait for a couple of month till taf arrives completely in market and then switch to it as is renosafe. Stopping viread will flush ur 8 years of virus control and chances to lose hbsag in future may go in vane.
Avatar m tn yhi i'm on combo viread + interferon i'm 27 yo and still eag+..
Avatar n tn you should take viread+interferon like other members in the forum, chances to clear hbv once and for all are 24% at 48 weeks.
Avatar f tn Renal impairment, including cases of acute renal failure and Fanconi syndrome (renal tubular injury with severe hypophosphatemia), has been reported with the use of VIREAD [See ADVERSE REACTIONS]. It is recommended that creatinine clearance be calculated in all patients prior to initiating therapy and as clinically appropriate during therapy with VIREAD. Routine monitoring of calculated creatinine clearance and serum phosphorus should be performed in patients at risk for renal impairment.
Avatar m tn viread is more realiable than generic tenofovir right? do you know any online site/store where viread is sold and guaranted to be delivered to you?
Avatar m tn I also started on Viread in March 2011. Before taking Viread i had absolutely no symptoms. Upon resuming viread i started experiencing the same symptoms as you have. I checked out the viread site to see if these symptoms were normal and from what i read they seemed to be quite usual and covered in the broad range of possible symptoms experienced by patients while taking viread. However i would like to hear any contrary opinions if anyone has any.
Avatar m tn 1. Should I take VIREAD immediately as suggested by my primary care doctor? And why? 2. Will VIREAD change my life style, i.e. make me exercise less, no more hiking / skiing trip? 3. Am I correct that I will take VIREAD for life? 4. When will VIREAD develop resistance? Any known data / study on this? 5. What is the life expectancy can I expect? Thank you again for sharing your information. God Bless.
Avatar f tn On the other hand, it is generally considered safe for mothers on Viread to breakfeed - concentration of Viread in breast milk is minimal and experiences from HIV mothers on Viread indicated no significant side effects on baby. So it may be an option to delay switching until breastfeeding is over. Just my understanding.
