Vigamox pseudomonas

Common Questions and Answers about Vigamox pseudomonas

avelox

Avatar f tn I am in the middle of having cataract surgery (one eye is done and the other will be done tomorrow). The doctor gave me small samples of Nevanac & Vigamox to use before and after the surgeries. He also gave me a prescription for both. In checking with my health insurance plan, I see that each prescription will cost me $75 to fill. I saw in a previous question that Tobramycin might be substituted for Vigamox (which is MUCH cheaper). Can you suggest a cheaper substitute for Nevanac?
Avatar m tn hy, 2 weeks ago i had cxl treatment for keratoconus. my doctor prescribed me to use vigamox and tobradax 4 times a day for 5 days and after flu she prescribed me to take these drops for 1 week.
Avatar f tn I went to see my optometrist she prescribed an antibiotic VIGAMOX. I put since last saturday 4 drop a day. I went to see her last Monday. No improvement for the dot but my eyes fell better than saturday. I went back yesterday, no improvement so she send me to the eye doctor specialist. She told me to take Vigamox every 2h instead of 4. When I read the trial on Vigamox the patient took the drug 3x a day and see efficacy after 4-5days. For me it had been 5 now 6 days.
Avatar f tn Now I am scheduled for cataract surgery, and in the presurgical packet I received this weekend, there is an rx for Vigamox, even though I requested that a note about the Cipro/Vigamox problem be placed in my file. I know the fluoroquinolones are appealing to docs because they are so tremendously effective, but for people who cannot tolerate them, are there acceptable substitutes?

Avatar f tn She was recently advised that a culture shows that pseudomonas bacteria is the culprit this time. However, she was also advised that she is allergic to all of the antibiotics used to kill the bacteria. Any suggestions?
Avatar n tn the way to help with pseudomonas is to knock down the biofilm it creates in the gut this will strengthen your immune system dramatically and lessen your symptoms .also zinc supplements help fight pseudomonas .phage therapy is a cure for pseudomonas probably the only thing in existence that will cure chronic pseudomonas unless you can boost your immune system enough d3 supplements are very important.

Avatar n tn I saw my Doctor he put numbing drops in my eyes and did a slit light test, then prescribed me acular and vigamox, directed me to two different OTC drops ( one which is almost gel like ). Told me that I had a cut with scar tissue and that it would be a long and painful healing process. I was told not be in the wind or under a fan, always have on sun glasses when outside, and keep light dim while inside. He said it would probably take eight to twelve weeks to heal.
Avatar f tn The area of hardness had decreased. Surprisingly, the culture came back as pseudomonas. My dr was shocked. He took me off the duricef and put me on cipro. He wants to see me back in a month and if he feels anything will repeat the ultrasound. It is still a little swollen and I can still feel an area of hardness. My questions are: Is is common for women my age to develop breast infections?
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed and given vigamox (4 x day) and Tobradex. The doctor insisted I come back the next day to check my pupil after dilated. So, I paid another $140 for that exam. Now, they (it's a medical center where different doctors step in) insist I come back every 2 days to check on the healing. Unfortunately, I can't take off anymore work or pay another $140. The redness, itching and stinging have all decreased in the last 36 hrs since starting treatment.
Avatar f tn My dad is 81 and has chronic pseudomonas infection in his lungs. He also has COPD. This is his 4th round of getting this infection in 3 years. He just got out of the hospital from a 5 day stay 3 weeks ago and did a 10 day pick line antibiotic. His Dr called today and he still has the infection. They are calling it a 4+ pseudomonas infection. (whatever that means). He has done every antibiotic there is (pill form, nebulizer, inhalers and pick line) for this and nothing is working anymore.
Avatar m tn He told me that I had an infection in my eye due to the fact that I was in a public hottub (hotel) with my contacts in. He gave me vigamox. I followed up the next day and they said it looked like everything was getting better and they gave me some anti-swelling and sauve for at night. Everything got better for me and I went off the drops like the doctor told me to. Now one week after stopping the drops the eye is blurring up again.
Avatar m tn My ophthalmologist prescribed Vigamox and Nevenac 4 times per day beginning 2 days before the surgery, Being a antibiotic, I hope the Vigamox helps with the bacteria count as well.
Avatar n tn My 15 year old son has been treated with antibotics for a month now, for an ear infection. first amox. then bactrium, and final a culture was done on the drainage. He has pseudomonas in his ear and was getting the wrong treatment. He is now on cipro orally and tobramycin ear drops. Has anyone ever had this before and will the treatment work, will it go away or not and how long before the antibotics kicks in.
1415174 tn?1453243103 Hi, my corneal specialist (opthamologist) said I have a marginal corneal ulcer bacterial in nature and was thought be caused by rosacea. He gave me Vigamox drops every two hours and Bacitracin ointment for night time. I am having a lot of side effects from the Vigamox (irritation, watery eye, itcy, pain etc. and very red eye). But that is not the biggest problem. I tried the Bacitracin for two nights. Last night I up and saw that my eye was very swollen.
Avatar f tn thank-you!
Avatar n tn Recently, I discovered that I have had pseudomonas aeruginosa in my lungs for 9 years. I had thought that I had had this for 2-3 years. It has caused pneumonia that has been difficult to get rid of. I have been a patient at your facility in January, 2009, but no treatment was given to get rid of my pseudomonas. I really want this to be cured and know there has to be a way to cure it, even if it is a clinical trial. I am a 56 year old female.
Avatar f tn At my 1 week post OP APPOINTMENT , my ENT INFORMED ME THAT I HAD PSEUDOMONAS ( lab results confirmed with the cultures they took at the time of surgery). He started me on levequin 500mg/ once a day & a course of steroids, the next week I went back to see him and I could barely breath thru my nose, so he also prescribed me a nasal flush compound of levequin/tobermycin. I took the FULL course of levequin 14days, as well as the full course of the nasal flush.
Avatar f tn I take care of a quad male that has a trach in place. His sputum had tested positive for MRSA, pseudomonas, and trichomonas. I had no idea you could get and std in your sputum and i'm even more curious to find out how that happened. Is that really a possibility and how could he have gotten it in his sputum?
