I wanted you to know that I had cataract surgery on my left eye on Jan. 11. And I used the Vigamox drops pre and post-op as directed.
Three days after surgery, I woke up with a problem with my left shoulder. I'm not sure it was tendinitis, and maybe it was a coincidence that I had it. But I can tell you that it took about a month for it to finally get better! I stopped the Vigamox drops around Jan. 26.

hy, 2 weeks ago i had cxl treatment for keratoconus. my doctor prescribed me to use vigamox and tobradax 4 times a day for 5 days and after flu she prescribed me to take these drops for 1 week.
I used to wear contacts every day for about eight to ten hours a day and then I'd take them out at night. I did this for about eight years and never had any problems until about a year and a half ago. In November 2009, I was diagnosed with pink eye and was given vigamox. About a day later I had to go to the emergency room because I was covered in a rash and having problems breathing. After that, my eye doctor took me off the vigamox and gave me a new prescription eye drop.
Not uncommonly, people are started on aggressive topical treatment for a supposed bacterial conjunctivitis and end up with a toxic conjunctivitis from the medications. These drops are then switched (because they are clearly not working) for other more potent drops, which then compound the issue. In these cases, stopping the medicated drops and switching to preservative-free artificial tears can greatly improve the situation.

I went to see my optometrist she prescribed an antibiotic VIGAMOX. I put since last saturday 4 drop a day. I went to see her last Monday. No improvement for the dot but my eyes fell better than saturday. I went back yesterday, no improvement so she send me to the eye doctor specialist. She told me to take Vigamox every 2h instead of 4. When I read the trial on Vigamox the patient took the drug 3x a day and see efficacy after 4-5days. For me it had been 5 now 6 days.
Now I am scheduled for cataract surgery, and in the presurgical packet I received this weekend, there is an rx for Vigamox, even though I requested that a note about the Cipro/Vigamox problem be placed in my file.
I know the fluoroquinolones are appealing to docs because they are so tremendously effective, but for people who cannot tolerate them, are there acceptable substitutes?
I saw my Doctor he put numbing drops in my eyes and did a slit light test, then prescribed me acular and vigamox, directed me to two different OTC drops ( one which is almost gel like ). Told me that I had a cut with scar tissue and that it would be a long and painful healing process. I was told not be in the wind or under a fan, always have on sun glasses when outside, and keep light dim while inside. He said it would probably take eight to twelve weeks to heal.
My doctor gave me terramycin ointment (4 times daily) and vigamox drops (3 times daily) to treat conjunctivitis in both eyes. However, when applying terramycin ointment for the first two days, my eyes became more uncomfortable (watery, more discharge) and red. Is this is good sigh for healing? or should I stop usage?

t relieve the pink eye or excessive tears. Now I am putting Vigamox followed by Prednisolone drops. My pink eye appears to be gone, but not the tears. So, if after your long battle with this, have you found the answers you've been looking for? Are your eyes back to normal? And could you tell me your outcome? Did a Doctor finally test your tears? I appreciate any feedback you might give.
After a week of using the prescribed eye drops (Vigamox, Lotemax, Tobradex) it went away. The optometrist said the bacteria was gone and so I started wearing contacts after a day's rest. Within a day of getting off the medicated drops, there was a pink blur in my left eye. I continued using the medication thinking it was pink eye again. It worked for a week but now my eye is quite veiny.
The doctor also had said that my eyes were very dry.
I am using patanol and vigamox. Problem is i have like a white discharge on my eye and it does not like to come out. I use a hot compress twice a day then i try to rinse my eye and flush my eye as well. Nothing it just remains in my eye.Most of the time i go to bed and it still there. When the white discharge remains in my eye for too long it gets hard and crust and sticks to my skin this hearts really bad.
I saw a few optometrist and finally an opthamologist. He prescribed Zylet, steroid drops. He told me to use it for a week and see him again in a week. The redness went away and the bump went down just a little. When I went to see him he got a swab and went over the bumb attempting to flatten it out. My eye went red again. He told me to use vigamox for a day then return to the Zylet for another week. It's been a few weeks now and I can still see the bump since it hasn't gone away.
I was prescribed 3 different eye drops to take 4 times a day, VIGAMOX, LOTEMAX, AND ISOPTO HYOSCINE along with a cream ERYTHROMYCIN OPHTHALMIC OINTMENT USP. The second day of taking these eye drops I began having a severe itching in my eye and also a rash on my chest. I took benedryl to help with the itching and rash. The doctor said that it was ok to take this. After 2 days the itch stopped and I stopped the benadryl. In the past I have had adverse reactions to steroids.
ve also noticed that my vision actually seems a bit blurrier than it was 2 days ago. I am using Vigamox and Nevanac drops every 4 hours. Note that I had high myopia in that eye, with a diopter of -8.0. I will be having cataract surgery on the other eye in 4 days' time (also high myopia diopter of -9.0) Please comment.
My right eye is red, I may have accidentally scratched it with my finger 2 days ago when I was rubbing my eye. It was a little red before, then I thought it got better, but today (Sun Apr 11) it's even more red than before and has a mild pain. What should I do? I have Vigamox eye drops left over from a previous prescription for blepharitis in my other eye (seems to be healed now). Should I take them?
