Vigamox for the eye

Common Questions and Answers about Vigamox for the eye

avelox

Avatar f tn I saw in a previous question that Tobramycin might be substituted for Vigamox (which is MUCH cheaper). Can you suggest a cheaper substitute for Nevanac? I had asked the nurse for more samples, but she refused saying they wouldn't have enough for the other patients. Thanks!
Avatar f tn I am no Dr. but I believe in 3 years the Vigamox might lose it's effectiveness. If it were me, this is one area I wouldn't cut back on because Vigamox is CRITICAL for your eye health after eye procedures. You don't want to kick yourself if your eye heals with complications. I too am always tring to save money where I can, but I would do without a new pair of shoes, jeans, or something else instead...just my two cents.
Avatar f tn It happen on friday at 2am when I removed my contact lense the left one went fine but the right eye burned and my eye started to tears. I had my lenses for 18h that day and my eyes were dry since I went to see a music show and a lot of people were smoking. I didn't find the lense, so I though the sensation was from the contact being lost in the back of my eyes. I added eye drop and it burned...I went to bed and the next day still painfull, eye sensitive to light.
Avatar m tn one more thing that my treated eye is now bigger then my second eye after the treatment which is easily noticeable.
Avatar n tn Quite simply, we have vastly different bodies - and some human medicines can be extremely damaging to a dog. Added to this, the strength of the human vigamox will be far too concentrated to use on a dog, and you cannot dilute it down to the correct and theraputic formulation. Finally, how do you know it is conjunctivitis and even if it is, it is more important to treat the cause of it rather than the symptoms produced by it. In short ...
1428481 tn?1340593131 We just got over a case of pink eye in my 2 year old. He had it for the first time under a year, and yes it is very common in infants and young children. As the others suggested, I would not use the medication until you have had a proper diagnosis. Although it certainly sounds like pink eye, other infections or issues are possible, and drops not intended for your child could do more harm then good. All the best.
Avatar f tn The pain backed off somewhat until one month later, when I used Vigamox for one day for an eye infection, when the pain recurred with fury about two hours after using the drops .. My tendinitis is concentrated in the supraspinatus and the long head of the biceps tendon, and now, almost ten months after the original whatever-it-was, I still must use light weights at the gym for curls, bench press, and flyes--and cannot do these exercises on successive days.
Avatar m tn I just had eye surgery. Doctor prescribed 3 different eye drop medicines for a week. Can anyone tell me what each are for? A friend told me some were dangerous to my eye? Is this true?
Avatar m tn ve had a fair amount of C-MSRA infections here in my community over the last two years, and it makes me wonder. I really figured the Vigamox would do the trick. Thanks!
Avatar n tn my left eye appears smaller than the right eye, it is very red in the lower part of the eye as well as in the sides. these symptoms are present in the left eye as well but are not as severe. i also experience itching and irritation in both eyes from time to time. SHOULD I START LOTEMAX? will it be effective?
Avatar m tn About a day later I had to go to the emergency room because I was covered in a rash and having problems breathing. After that, my eye doctor took me off the vigamox and gave me a new prescription eye drop. It seemed to be working at first, but after a few weeks of the new drop it made my eye pressure skyrocket. So then I had to go on yet another new eye drop to bring my eye pressure back to normal.
Avatar n tn My left eye was bothering me for about two weeks, off and on. I thought I had a simple eye infection and used previously Rx'd drops to self treat it ( I know, I know ), then it became very apparent when I could not focus my eyes while driving that something was wrong. I saw my Doctor he put numbing drops in my eyes and did a slit light test, then prescribed me acular and vigamox, directed me to two different OTC drops ( one which is almost gel like ).
1415174 tn?1453243103 A marginal cornea ulcer in the standard sense is not an aggressive ulcer and often non-infected and due to an anti-body/antigen reaction (hypersensitivity). If the bacitracin is clearly making your eye red, swollen and the skin looking scaled then you should likely follow the doctor on call's advice and stop it.

Again i went to Doctor on 17 may 2010 he said instill Lotepred one drop in a day .. and said continue eyemist gel and Softvisc eye drop. as your eyes getting dry .. and till today i follow his instruction.
Avatar f tn Now it feels fine, except a bit of itching now and then and my eyelashes near the area are turned toward my eye probably because of the slight bulge where the infection is. There is a ball type feel to it on the outside and the inside of the eyelid has a light shape to it, like a healing sore. Recently I had an eye doctor visit and was told it was a staph infection. I was instructed to apply a hot compress and massage it, putting a drop of Vigamox two times a day for 7 days.
Avatar m tn After a week of using the prescribed eye drops (Vigamox, Lotemax, Tobradex) it went away. The optometrist said the bacteria was gone and so I started wearing contacts after a day's rest. Within a day of getting off the medicated drops, there was a pink blur in my left eye. I continued using the medication thinking it was pink eye again. It worked for a week but now my eye is quite veiny. The doctor also had said that my eyes were very dry.
Avatar m tn I have a bad case of Blepharitis and my optician has prescribed Vigamox to be used for 7 days on my eye lids. I am on the 4th day and I don't see a whole lot of change in my eyelids. Is there something better than this? I also go to an Opthamoligist and he prescribed a salve, which also didn't work. I am putting hot compresses on everynight with a lid scrub (also not working.) I would appreciate any help you could give me. Thanks.
Avatar f tn Thank you for your reply. Boy, do I wish I had a doctor like you here where I live. I've been to two Opthmalogists and they were both saying it is an allergy. I told my eye doctor that I could feel a little bump under my left upper eyelid, she tried to feel for it and looked but didn't see anything. This left eye is the culprit of all the trouble. All the itching and infections start in that eye. Although, this bump doesnn't hurt, I can still feel it there.
Avatar m tn I had unprotected oral from a sex worker, and about three weeks, later, got symptoms of burning, and a clear discharge etc, I was treated, before test results got back with doxy, 100x2 daily, and my GF was treated with 1 gram of Azithromycin in one treatment, in the last few hours, I have started to get symptoms of pink eye, I then treated it with vigamox x 3 daily, does this sound like a normal treatment, and result, my buring sensations have gone away, and my eye is slowly calming down.
Avatar m tn It is always the left eye. I have had one opthamologist treat me for Herpes Keratitis while another for chronic blepharitis (I do have seborrhheic dermatitis). What can I do to head off these attacks? I do warm compresses and lid scrubs, but can I use steroids like Tobradex when I fell an attack coming on? Often they seem to be preceded by a stye. I'm suffering through one now and very anxious.
