Avatar f tn Now I am scheduled for cataract surgery, and in the presurgical packet I received this weekend, there is an rx for Vigamox, even though I requested that a note about the Cipro/Vigamox problem be placed in my file. I know the fluoroquinolones are appealing to docs because they are so tremendously effective, but for people who cannot tolerate them, are there acceptable substitutes?
Avatar n tn After 2 days the itch stopped and I stopped the benadryl. In the past I have had adverse reactions to steroids. I have a sterile gauze over the eye for most of the day because it is painful when the eyelid is open. To the best of my knowledge I have not bumped or injured the eye in any way. I contacted my surgeon with this problem but he said this is normal but had no solution. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to stop the burning and pain?
Avatar f tn I am in the middle of having cataract surgery (one eye is done and the other will be done tomorrow). The doctor gave me small samples of Nevanac & Vigamox to use before and after the surgeries. He also gave me a prescription for both. In checking with my health insurance plan, I see that each prescription will cost me $75 to fill. I saw in a previous question that Tobramycin might be substituted for Vigamox (which is MUCH cheaper). Can you suggest a cheaper substitute for Nevanac?

Please remember this is my personal medical situation and for millions of people vaccines are safe. I had a tangible sense of my doctor having my back. Then the news stories broke.

Avatar m tn Abnormal liver function tests, hepatic failure, hepatitis, jaundice". I'm taking Trileptal, which is also made by Novartis, without any adverse reactions, but I think the risk of elevated liver functions is the same. There must be something else you can take, though. Your GI and Neurologist can sort it out for you, I'm sure. Best of luck to you!

Avatar f tn Edema (fluid accumulation in any body part, resulting in swelling) has been reported as an adverse event in 37% of pancreatic cancer patients taking Tarceva, although this side effect has not been reported in lung cancer cases. However, the type of edema associated with Tarceva use is either generalized or involves a swelling of both legs. Swelling in only one leg may not be due to this drug. Unilateral leg swelling may be due to a local infection (cellulitis) in that area.
Avatar f tn Here's what's going on: Ever since I stopped taking Advair, I've become hypersensitive to any and all drugs!! Everything from Prilosec to Tagament. From vitamins to digestive enzymes. From Albuterol Sulfate (in nebulizer) to Singulair. Everything that I ingest in pill form or inhale (chemically) results in a SEVERE allergic reaction or SEVERE adverse reactions!! I've learned to combat the GERD by controlling my diet and eating more raw foods seems to do the trick.

Psoriasis and genital warts is a long term chronic problem and pilar cysts, keloids and molluscum are not chronic. Psoriasis is a non-contagious disorder which affects the skin and joints. It commonly causes red scaly patches to appear on the skin. It can be treated but it commonly has recurrences also. So a regular treatment is required for this.
