vicodin with ibuprophen

i am to take 2 tramadol twice daily or as needed along with 800 mg ibuprofen twice daily. i have not found any resolve with this medication (i have been on it 2 weeks). i also have not had any typical withdrawl symptoms from stopping the vicodin. i have degeneration of my t3 and t4 vertebre and spinal rotation and of course subluxation. i have had 2 diagnosises and both times the prognosis was long term chronic pain. i have blood work done every 3 mths and it has always been normal.

Is it wise to take any kind of tylenol for headaches of muscle aches during vicodin withdrawel?

Should I see a specialist who can offer another medication to ease me off of the Vicodin? I have a benzo for anxiety and I have read it should help me sleep. It does for a few hours, but them I am back to very sweaty nights (changing clothes, washing sheets every day, airing out my pillows and mattress). If anyone knows of a medication that is safe to help come off of the V, it would be very helpful.

vicuprophen..its vicodin with ibuprophen which as you know is an antiinfalmitory the vicodin is good for sever artritis...it is avalable in the 500 or 750 doses am not able to remember ibuprophen doses...its hard on the liver not meant for long term use,,you could use it on really bad days and perhaps something non narcotice like toradal on other days,,,toradol is a strong non narcotic pain reliver.

I bet in 10 years, there will be no Vicodin, but I could be wrong. They are coming out now with pain medication that is non-addictive, even for severe pain. I guess it`s bad news for the addicts.

The dose is the poison, as it's said in Agriculture. I did not take NSAID's but was allowed 2 extra strength Tylenols twice a day. That is 2 grams. The maximum dose of Tylenol, even for children, is 4 grams, so I felt pretty safe with my doctor's recommendation. Where people get into trouble is when they also have tylenol in their narcotic pain meds, their cough syrups, etc. and don't even realize how much they are taking in total.

At year 25 my back blew big time. I took Vicodin 7.5s, with my AA sponsors blessing, to see me through until the pain clinic was able to put the fire out with two ESIs. I was still left with a disc bulge, which got increasingly more painful. Addictionology: My first 90 hits of vikes lasted me over a year. My back hurt more, in multiple places. When I ran out I asked for more (more is a bad, bad word for an addict). Doc gave me a lousy 60 a month.

Get some people to support you through this, and cut off ALL contact with anyone associated with your DOC. If you know where you can get some 'just in case you cant handle it', don't even bother trying, because you're setting yourself up for failure. Tough it out for a week or so, and we guarantee life will be soooo much more worth living! The first few days are the hardest.....

I had emergency oral surgery and was given Vicodin for pain & antibiotics for the infection. I was only given 21 pills, thank goodness. I plan on getting back on the wagon when the pain is gone. Hopefully I won't have the wd's again.

That's a long time with Vicodin in your system, but it not very much. To me CT sounds doable but then I'm not your doctor. For that length of time being on opiate, you really should ask your prescriber that question for sure. Don't do this without him/her! m taking/have tried taking ibuprophen, tylenol, celebrex, and lodine for the NSAIDs, and percocet, vicodin and ultram besides -- none of it is working. i'm at the point where i'm just taking something to sleep so i dont have to deal with it until i can see the doc. thanks!

So, he gave me the PanlorSS stating it was less habit forming. The Panlor Im on, doesnt have a strength to it. Although Ive read that they do make panlor with certain strengths.

In fact, it is often prescribed with other things. Ibuprophen is an anti-prostaglandin and relieves muscle cramping. It only takes one or two (standard dose) to relieve menstrual cramps. In your shoes, I'd call my doctor to confirm but there should be no trouble taking Advil.

21 years old. Pregnant with second baby currently 11 weeks. Im currently taking Lovenox shots n my prenatal the passed 2 weeks have had headaches... Is it OK to take ibuprofen if I don't have tylenol available at the time.

For those of you who have been reading my crazy rants, I am on day 3 of the ibuprophen version of vicodin. Here is my question. I went about 3 and half to 4 weeks taking 60 5's and 60 7.5's for 120 total. This morning I dry heaved and had a small other problem. Anyway, since this is my 3rd time of going through this in 5 years, which I swear I never will again, and since I abused my body so harshly, will my anxiousness and other overwelming feelings stay around longer, or never go away?

My doctor told me that acetaminophen (tylenol) is harder on the liver than Ibuprophen, that Ibuprophen is actually harder on your kidneys than your liver. It may depend on the stage/condition of your liver, but I was not advised to not take either, and when I specifically asked about ibuprophen, he said it was probably better than the tylenol.

I have been tking vicodin now for a year. probably 10 pills of the 5/500 a day lately. I soooo want to stop. I took 6 yesterday and 2 today and I have 3 left. A baby should not run a high fever for more than 48 hours or it can do damage to the brain. Have you been giving tylenol and ibuprophen. You dose tylenol and ibuprophen at the same time and every 4 hours after the first dose give tylenol and every six hours after first dose give ibuprophen. Do this for 24 hours. See if fever comes back. If so do it for another 24 hours. If fever still returns bring to doctor immediately. The baby may need antibiotics.

He takes vicodin with Ibuprophen in it currently and that is all. He is 48 years old and was NEVER SICK a day in his life. He found out about the Hep c due to blood work for a screening. HE IS HORRIBLE NOW. HE WORKS BUT IS A REAL JERK AND I THINK IT IS ALL FROM THE TREATMENT. Please anyone's input would be greatly appreciated. I read some of the post and the FDA does put out drugs that are horrible and they do not tell you all the side effects.

Remember to drink fluids, flush out the opiates some and the immodium will not only help with the diahreah but with the receptors in the stomach. If you have a muscle relaxer they may help but try the ibuprophen or tylenol first.

I am not going to say that cold turkey is a piece of cake but it is doable. I went cold turkey from vicodin and soma 6 months ago and although the withdraws were pretty bad I was still able to function. You can lay on the couch and watch your 3 yr old and watch some cartoons or kids movies and that will help from him/her to not be so active. Kids will eat fast things so don't plan cooking much. You will be able to do it, and of course there is nap time.

Yes, from what I read, it is a rather new brand of Oxycodone and Ibuprophen. It is distributed in the US. I think we will hear more about the drug as time goes on. There is good info on the drug on the web.

Amazingly, I quit smoking 21 months ago, cold turkey! It was easy and I dont miss it. the problem with the vicodin is, I work in an office and my back gets stiff very easily and I know once I take one I'll feel a little better. I dont even try anything else, such as aspirin or ibuprofen. My wife and I quit smoking at the same time, and she was worse then me. I am very proud of her. Of course, she gained wait, but it honestly doesn't bother me.
