I was just thinking of all the different medications I've been on over the last year or two and the pros and cons to all of them. Then it occurred to me I'd never tried Demerol for BT pain, and now I can't remember ever seeing anyone here refer to it.
Has anyone used Demerol? Is it maybe not used for chronic pain for some reason? I remember getting it twice in my life. One was a shot in the bum when I threw my back out about 8 years ago.
Will a urine test know what class 2 schedule drugs are being taken whether an oxy or vicodin? I have a script for 10 mg vicodin but ran out and friend let ke take a 5mg oxy for my pain till script coupd be refilled...i then took a urine test..both meds re a class 2 schedule so will the urine test know the difference?
We are currently down to about 60mg a day and are running out of supply. We do have some 50mg Demerol and was wondering if that would help keep the withdrawals at bay and also help us with tapering off.

Before iwas pregnant, my dr had me on er morophine, soma, vicodin and as needed demerol. My ob kept me on the vicodin throughout my entire pregnancy so it should be fine to take, but only if recommended by your ob. If i could tolerate this pain and could be certain that i wouldn't fall everytime i walk, i would not be taking this medication while pregnant.

I recently found myself in a position where I have no Vs and am unable to obtain any. My doc had given my Adderol for depression and for focusing so I can work. I find that when I'm going through the w/d, the adderol helps with the cravings and other w/d effects, except the sleepless nights, crazy legs and no appetite.

I was put on vicodin in the beginning and was on it for the pain and attacks, on top of the dilaudid and demerol I would be given when the pain got so bad and I would have to go to the ER. At 22 weeks, I was at the hospital sometimes 3 times a week and so it got so bad that they did the surgery and removed my gallbladder.
I took Demerol and Stadol when pregnant with my first baby for chronic migraines. We moved and I had a different OB for my last two children. I took Darvocet with my second baby and Vicodin with my last. I did not take very much, but probably three - five pills per week. He accused me of this because my CK levels were extremely high at over 100,000 U/L. He sent me home with Vicodin and told me to avoid steroid use and that I just pulled a muscle. The next day it got worse so I went back. That Dr suspected possible kidney stones or infection. He have me several injections of demerol which did nothing for me. He sent me home with a prescription for more. The following day it was no better. I couldn't move or sleep and in extreme pain still.
As i have to be careful with new pain medicine and because of my allergies to the current pain meds (hydrocodone, morphine, dilaudid) do you have any other suggestion that I could suggest? I know I can take Demerol pills because I had to take them 2 years ago for surgery. Would that be a good medicine to discuss with my doctor or is the Demerol a little too strong for a knew surgery?
