Common Questions and Answers about Vicodin side effects headache

vicodin

Avatar f tn I just started on Zohydro ER because the idea of not taking acetaminophen with hydrocodone was tempting. (There's a Black Box warning about the acetaminophen in Vicodin). The first day I started the Z. (about 5 days ago) I got less pain relief and much more pain than I had with 5/375 Vicodin! That's seems totally wrong but it happened. The dose of the Z is the same as I got for the number of 5/375s I took per day. Anyone else on Z. and how do you like it? Any side effects?
4753943 tn?1359934569 For example, when I had first started taking medication, I read up on possible side effects and of course started to feel them and relate any symptom to the medication whether it was relevant or not. If you are concerned about it, why not talk to your prescribing doctor or pharmaacist about it? For me, keeping an open line of communication between your health care provider(s) and myself is important. Are you also in counseling for your anxiety?
Avatar f tn So today my Celexa dose was upped from half a pill to 1 whole pill and the side effects are coming back like when I first started... Sweaty, can't sleep, headache, stiff neck, clenching teeth... Etc. I don't know what to do. I tried taking stuff for it, including an Oxy but still no change. What can I take to make these side effects not so bad? I don't see the dr till Thursday, so I can't ask her... If anyone has any suggestions?
Avatar f tn Hi everyone, I had a LP last Thursday and everything was ok till yesterday I got a headache that came and went but this morning I woke up with the headache and have also been throwing up, does this sound normal, should I wait it out.
600857 tn?1230057770 OK, here's the "strange one" of the group. I have taken Vicodin for 4 years. It only makes me "grumpy" at the end of a day when I have over done my limitations and I am hurting and absolutely nothing works to ease my pain. My family knows when it's one of those evenings and they are kind enough to leave me alone and let me be a "B" all by myself. I don't even want to be around anyone. But those days are not often.
Avatar m tn I have read of a few others who are having similar side effects. Perhaps they will come on an share their experience. You can also click on the magnifying glass icon near the "post a question" and search.
284208 tn?1292855519 I am recovering slowly, going to physical therapy 3x/wk. I tried to stop taking the Vicodin, and found myself with shaking hands, headache, nausea. I assume this means my body has become dependent on the Vicodin. I am trying to taper off of it now. Do you have any suggestions that will help me to get through this? How long should it be between intervals of lowering the dose?
Avatar m tn Hi, I m desperately looking for help after seeing tons of neurologist and neuro surgeon about my daily chronic tension headache and tingling burning pain on my left side of body after a seizure last year due to a brain aneurysm. I m since on 400mg of tegretol cr daily and i suspected tegretol is the cause of my suffering. Any personal experience or advise to help ? All scans and test turn out fine.
Avatar f tn yes, it is Trileptal. Side effects I have had recently are neutremia, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, headache....seeing my psych doc next week. I am very disappointed that she did not catch this. I will slowly reducing my dose (I'm at 1800 mg now) in order to go off this drug, AND, I will never go back to this psych doc again.
Avatar m tn After taking the meds for over 5 days I am experiencing sleeplessness, headache and constipation. Could someone let me know if these are the side effects of the meds? should i continue or should I stop taking them? thank you.
Avatar f tn Hi Ladies I just have as question about metformin whats the side effects some of you may have had? I start to take metformin today so maybe this will bring on my period. I had a natural m.c in nov 2008 and no AF as of yet.
Avatar m tn I had no side effects at all and was able to continue my XC skiing and cycling as normal. Some do have side effects like fatigue, headache and anemia but I have not heard about anything very severe with this treatment.
2129735 tn?1336423434 I was wondering if this was from side effects from the meds or just a pos op side effecr. Has anyone had these side effects from any of those meds. Thank you for any insight you have!
Avatar m tn my wife is 45 yrs. old, she had a stroke on the left side of her brain 8 yrs. ago, but her pain from that is on her left side, not her right, also has migraines min 2 times per week since then. recently in the last week she has had migraine and left side pain to the extreme. went to her doctor yesterday (primary care) and they said she was having spasm or tremors. she takes vicodin for the last 8 yrs. for the pain. they gave her butalbital/apap/caffeine but it is not working.
Avatar f tn It doesn't surprise me your doctor isn't giving you Vicodin for a headache. What does surprise me is you can't take Tylenol. My understanding is the recommended daily amount is ok. It's when people take excessive amounts that it becomes a problem. Many people have taken Tylenol with there interferon shot while on treatment for hepatitis C. Are you sure your doctor just doesn't want to give you Vicodin? If I were you....
Avatar n tn I had many side effects. Headaches, severe heartburn accompanied with hiccups. Blisters and discoloration all over my tongue and back of my throat. By day 6 my feet and ankles were badly swollen and it was getting difficult to swallow. My doc said I was having a systemic reaction and to quit immediately. We are going to try Subutex now and I hope it works. On all the info I found, the only side effect I had that was listed was headache.
Avatar f tn (I am on Hospice care) she told me I needed to take more vicodin! I want off this crap--can anyone tell me anything about these headaches? Is it usuall?
Avatar n tn Vicodin is much more effective and stronger than other analgesics such as tramadol, but also has side effects as its dose should be controlled.
Avatar f tn The side effects I had with clomid was a very mild headache, and moodiness later in my cycle. I was only on 50 mg per day for 5 days. I never really had physical pain or tiredness with clomid, but I did have the mental stuff a little bit. With the injectibles, I had lots of physical uncomfortableness (still do !!! ) but no real mental/emotional stuff. It's sort of hard to tell if the drugs are making us crazy, or the process we're having to go through month in and month out, eh?!
Avatar f tn sorry to hear your hubby is having a hard time. sounds like he is having some of the common side effects. There is nothing that can boost platlets but many docs let them go really low before lowering or stopping the meds. Try and get back on the full strength of interferon ASAP! Probably the most common side effect is the itching. I have it as well and it is horrible. I have found some relief with a prescription med called Atarax.
1094370 tn?1317134825 All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. When used in small doses, no COMMON side effects have been reported with Tylenol. Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur when using Tylenol: "Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); dark urine or pale stools; unusual fatigue; yellowing of the skin or eyes.
