Common Questions and Answers about Vicodin recovery

vicodin

Avatar n tn I found a great doctor in Chicago...if anyone needs the info just PM me. It is $100 for the first visit and you get the prescription for subutex and suboxone that day. He was very understanding and educated about addiction. I took my first dose of subutex today and will take a 1 dose for the next 2 days and then go to the suboxone. He said 1 year is a typical stay on suboxone. This is the only thing that concerns me. I have heard mixed reviews about how long to stay on this medication.
Avatar m tn I did stop taking the vicodin.
Avatar m tn I was just wondering if taking a Vicodin will interfere with the recovery of my Zoloft withdrawal? Could I have done any permanent brain damage from taking a Vicodin since my brain is in recovery mode? This is the first Vicodin I have taken since I stopped taking the Zoloft.

Avatar m tn I'm addicted to the pain killer vicodin, my usage is approx. 4 to 6 pills a day for 5+ years, is it possible to wean myself off of this mess? I have experienced the burning feet, tingling tounge, chills and runny nose, I have so far been able to limit myself to this amount rarely exceeding, however, it is getting worse and I need help. I dont't have a problem getting a script for it.
Avatar n tn My boyfriend recently quit taking vicodin after a few years of being addicted. He is going through a lot of depression and emotional strain. He told me that he is scared because he isnt sure if he still loves me the way he should. Is this normal? Should I be worried that he doesnt love me anymore, or is it all part of recovery?
Avatar f tn Hi everyone! This is my first time every posting anything on the Internet so I'm really nervous and embarrassed all at the same time. I am currently going through my 3rd try at staying clean from vicodin. I've been an addict for 6 years and the longest I have been sober is 6 months. I've have recently started up again and going through the withdrawals all over again to my dismay. I just need some words of encouragement. I have no other support.
Avatar n tn I need to get off vicodin but dont have insurance and need help know what can i do.
Avatar n tn Are you talking about the Thomas recipe? This is used for cold turkey or perhaps withdrawels AFTER your OFF suboxone. I don't beleive you mean Vicodin, you probably mean Valium, Right? Because you use Sub to get off vicodin, so you wouldn't use vicodin to get off sub. Anyway, IBKleen just put the link in a prior post, but here it is. Copy & paste http://www.medhelp.org/forums/Addiction/messages/37762.
Avatar m tn Hi there and Welcome to the forum~ I could really relate to your story....though my time using pain meds was a lot longer.....awaiting surgery. I got up to very high daily amounts, too. You are doing GREAT at 4 days.....and it's good you have a few days to "bum around" as you said. LOL If you haven't checked out the Health Pages here on MedHelp....they are full of info that will help you and educate you.

Avatar f tn Although it has only been 3 mos. I also get severe headaches daily in which I take Vicodin (4-6 daily). I also have a plate and screws in my head now. The MRI's have shown the tumor is completely gone but I am still swollen and numb. I am extremely tired and wiped out. I have checked out other pages of recovery time and it states that people go back to work within 3-8 wks.I certainly am not ready.
Avatar f tn I have been a Vicodin user for 8 years on and off. I have gotten prescriptions for toothaches to gall stone attacks . Any pain and the doctor will write a rx. I have been off Vicodin for 2 days now and I feel angry tired exhausted and I have body aches. The feeling I get from using them is a euphoric feeling but I feel that I must end my relationship with this pill. I just don't know how to stop without getting all these withdrawal effects that hurt so much physically any advice?
Avatar m tn Will taking Tramadol interfere with my Zoloft withdrawal recovery, since it's an SSRI? I take only 2 Tramadol tabs a day. (Each tab is 50mg) I was on 50mg Zoloft when I quit taking it cold turkey.

1204932 tn?1278462094 I am hoping the doctor says I can take it off. But my neck is still sore and I take atleast one vicodin a day. Neurosurgeon gave me Tylenol 3 but they make me sick and throw up. So my PCP gave me vicodin. My question is, is the pain ever going to go away perminately? I dont think I am ready for work as I am a housekeeper in a hospital and have to life very heavy things daily. Also another question.
Avatar n tn three days ago i got a super bad tooth ache from an infected tooth. i dont have medical insurance and so a friend gave me a vicodin to ease the pain. i took one on friday and i havent been in pain since and i havent taken another one. i would like to know if i am still considered clean?
Avatar m tn Ok what about Vicodin? Would taking Vicodin slow or halt the recovery process from quitting Zoloft? You know since my brain is in a weak state since I'm recovering from stopping Zoloft, I think. I ask because I was addicted to Vicodin for a month and a half AFTER quitting Zoloft. I was taking 60-80mg of hydrocodone a day during that month and a half period. Would taking Vicodin weaken my body and prolong the withdrawal process from Zoloft?
Avatar n tn t really something that would be beneficial to recovery. I do wish you both all the best and hope her pain issues are taken care of!
556246 tn?1260241701 No i think that definitely made sense..and to answer worried's question I did worry about whether I had them, and that's what made me realize i needed to quit. I had elbow surgery and thats what started me on vicodin. they gave me 60 Vicodin ES with 2 refills so 180 pills for an arthroscopic surgery! how stupid is that..pain wise i needed the vicodin for like 3 days max..but i liked them and over time i took every last one..
Avatar n tn I have read everyone that has written in about withdraws from vicodin, but most of them have not been on them for years. My husband has been taking vicodin for about 4-5 years taking anywhere from 4-6 a day depending on his pain. He has terrible knee pain and without it he is unable to function with his job. He is only 38 years old and just found out a couple of months ago that he has the knees of an 88 year old man!!! so, we are waiting so he can get 2 total knee replacements.
