Vicodin overdose stories

Common Questions and Answers about Vicodin overdose stories

vicodin

Why would you even posting on the addiction forums after using Vicodin for so short a time? There must be some underlying issues here other than Vicodin abuse/withdrawal problems. Perhaps you could elaborate? J.B.
Has anyone ever been through an accidental overdose on pain pills who is willing to discuss it. I am just hoping to know what the symptoms are.

THE OPIOID ANTAGONISTS (BLOCKERS) NALOXONE (NARCAN) OR NALTREXONE (DEPADE) WILL REVERSE THE OVERDOSE.
I am embarrassed to admit that I am 42 years old and addicted to Vicodin ES - sometimes up to 10 tablets a day. It started over 5 years ago after a pinched nerve in my back. I have since developed chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia although I am not sure if the addiction has brought on the problem. Before that I worked out 6 days a week and taught aerobics.
I have been on and off Vicodin ES for the pas year and half. My pain has gotten so much more worse. And I am becommng to tolerant to thee Vicodin, Any advice on the Patch, side effects, what if any similarity dos it have compared to Vicodin. andy advice at all about this medication would much appreciated...thank you. I have read many stories about women who have taken Vicodin while being pregnant. But I have not seen where anyone has taken percocet. I taken Topamax for migraines, have been on it about 5 years now. I had debilitating migraines, and one day had a seizure.
I s this a common effect of the withdrawal of Vicodin/Tramadol? How long will they last? I forgot to tell I was using Vicodin for about a year twice daily and Tramadol for about 2 years , also twice daily. Never seeked or experienced any high, so I'm not psychologically addicted, but of course my body got used to it. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I've been taking 30 Vicodin HPs a week for a year now, but I am still suffering and I am finding it difficult to concentrate after taking Vicodin. I want to stop taking Vicodin before I become more dependant on it than I already am. My Dr. has suggested switching to Ultram in the past. Some pharmacist say that Ultram is addictive while others say it is not. Before I switch to another medication I would like to know what I am getting myself into. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
I have been taking vicodin on and off for over a decade!!! Funny thing is though, it was mostly a mental addiction. The few times I've managed to quit for 6-12 mos at a time, I did so with minimal discomfort. Then a few months would go by and I would start feeling horribly depressed and anxious. Ironically, I started taking vicodin in the first place because I was depressed/anxious but had no doctor/insurance. I was self-medicating for the longest time.
I am a 40 yr old male and I have been taking 2-4 Vicodin a day for the past three years. A medical doctor prescribed it for me after it was discovered I suffered bone degeneration in my lower 2 disk vertebrea. At the time I thought little of taking a prescription painkiller. Now after my first 6 days of no longer taking Vicodin I am realizing how powerful of a substance it actually is. I'm having withdrawal symptoms I didn't expect.
my father in law has vicodin and if i'm ever in need he'll suplly. but. i didn't. i wasn't feeling any kind of withdrawal but wanted to be by myself for most of the time. i've been dealing with a bad gall bladder for months so they know its normal for me not eat anyway due to legit pain. but with gall bladder not even 14 lorcet touch it. anyway when i got home I walked to the bedroom like I normally would then turned back around and denied myself.
I am also as addicted to Vicodin as anyone can get. I take up to 50 vicodin ES's a day and have been for years. I have been in rehab once before 4 years ago and lasted less than a week and have been taking them almost every day since then. I have once again come clean to my wife and family today and finally admitted that I was an addict.
Hi all, I would just like to say that I have been lurking on this site for awhile now before finally deciding to kick my habit. I have been addicted to Vicodin on and off for around 2 1/2 years. I recently decided it was time to stop after having taken it for 3 months straight. I just did not like what I was becoming, and what this drug was doing to my life in general.
Hello, After knee surgery 31/2 years ago I was put on Vicodin. Little did I know I would get hooked. I never really thought about it, since my doctor was giving it to me and I took it how he told me to. Well today is day 2 and night 3 of not having any vicodin. I have terriable legg cramps, sweets and I can not sleep. How long does this last? It is driving me crazy. I do not have any cravings for the vicodin. Just the withdraws are killing me. I have been drinking water and taking baths.
I am currently addicted to Vicodin ES. I am taking (when I have it) anywhere from 10-15 a day. I have been addicted for about 18 months, hardcore for the last 6 months or so. I have to take at least 5 at a time to feel normal. The other day when I ran out, of course I was going thru horrible wd's. Sweating (palms and soles of feet mostly), agitation, thoughts, etc and etc.
I have been taking vicodin ES 750mg 90 tablets a month for the past 2 years I have chronic pain due to my bad knees. I was recently switched over to the percocet 5/325 my body was becoming tollerant to the vicodin to the point where they were not relieving the pain anymore. I had the same reaction with the percocet where I had to take 2-3 at once.
Seek emergency medical attention if you think you have used too much of this medicine. A tramadol overdose can be fatal. Overdose symptoms of a tramadol overdose may include drowsiness, shallow breathing, slow heartbeat, extreme weakness, cold or clammy skin, feeling light-headed, fainting, or coma. Tramadol may be habit-forming and should be used only by the person it was prescribed for.
I'm new here, and i'm desperate for help. I've been taking vicodin for the last two years, and i'm up to 100 mg a day, sometimes more if I can get it. My usual dose is no longer cutting it, and they get pretty expensive. I need to quit, and I cry every time I think about how i'm sick of having this problem. I'm so worried about having withdrawals though. I feel so crappy when I have withdrawals, and I have 3 small kids to look after.
I have plenty of information to share, and have had experience detoxing from Oxycodone, Oxycontins, Percocets, Percodans, and most recently Norco (Norco is a trade/brand name for stronger Hydrocodone [Vicodin]) The hardest detox I've ever been through was that of Methadone. If I can get through THAT, I can get through anything... It's almost impossible to find success stories regarding quitting Methadone, it just doesn't happen often.
I have been taking Ultram for the past 6 months and am up to 6 pills a day (300 mg a day) I have been taking Ultram for a herniated disc, after 2 mthsI started experiencing small side effects, sweating, nausea, headaches and I thought I had the flu. But these symtoms continued, I discovered these were side effects of Ultram. As the next few months continued, symtoms got worse, hallucinations started and I ended up in the emergency room one day.
It blocks all opiate effects, thus blocking any Europhoria you may feel if taking (vicodin, oxycontin, heroin, etc... ) In this sense overdose would occur tryin to get the Europhia you simply wont get. It is like anabuse in a sense. Although the bupenephrine is an opiod in itself to help with the body pain, the Naxolone component blocks the effects of the "high". Hope this makes sense.
I want to know and experience firsthand what people affected with Vicodin went through. In my naivete, ignorance and yes, arrogance, I want to go through it and out of it and share with all of you how I did it, my success story, which I expected. after this experiment. I AM SO SORRY. I am not helping indeed. I have nothing to give, nothing to share to any of you. What I posted was wrong. I'm sorry.
we all hear the stories of how drugs ruin lives and how bad the wd's are but seldom do we hear the stories of death. Let us all realize that that it can happen. My families prayers go out to you in your time in need.
if you are really concerned about your withdrawal situation, talk to your doctor and tell him everything. they can really help out. i tapered off my vicodin addiction and it was very painless in terms of withdrawals. but it was still very difficult. there are medications out there that your dr. can give you to ease the process, but i'm not educated enough on that to speek on it.
I have been on vicodin for over 4 years and have had to detox from it sooooo many times, not because I wanted to but, because I ran out of pills. I take a lot of vicodin...a lot. Pretty ashamed to say how much but we'll just say that I can go through 180 in about 10 days. Like I've said earlier it sucks that my body has gotten used to w/d because this time hasn't been that bad...I mean don't get my wrong it totally sucks, but has beed the easiest thus far. And it's only day 1.
Famous Heroin Users John Belushi – One of the greatest comedians of his generation, Belushi died of an accidental overdose on a powerful speedball – a dangerous mixture of heroin and cocaine. Kurt Cobain – Lead singer of the band Nirvana, Cobain used heroin to escape from the stress brought on by sudden fame. Eventually, would succumb not to an overdose, but a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his Washington home. Janis Joplin – The iconic singer of the 1960's was a major heroin user.
I have hears many horror storeis of people and methadone, about trading one drug for another and all that. But, I have heard many sucssesful and beautiful stories of people who used methadone appropriatley at a good clinic and got clean and got thier lives back. Before I started all this I was taking up to 22 10 mg Norco, or the equivalant in Vicodin. I would on occasion use Oxy if that was my only option, never liked it anymore than the others. Let me know...THANKS ALL..
hello, i don't know if anyone remembers me from years ago, but i used to come on here daily and seek advice. i don't remember my old user so all of my info/stories are lost :( anyways, to sum it up....i have A LOT of medical problems that i was finally diagnosed with back in 2007. i have one condition in particular, that causes severe pain for me every month.
for any who are concerned about not having a pain relief thats equal or as effective as vicodin or percocet, ther are other options.
