Vicodin overdose death

Common Questions and Answers about Vicodin overdose death

vicodin

Why would you even posting on the addiction forums after using Vicodin for so short a time? There must be some underlying issues here other than Vicodin abuse/withdrawal problems. Perhaps you could elaborate? J.B.
Here is my story (and how it all relates to an aspirin overdose) The last time I drank I was out of Vicodin (I used to drink and take pain meds, not bright I know... ) and was in a considerable amount of pain. I have been prescribed Vicodin for dental problems after a car accident. At the time I was drinking at least a 12 pack a night, which had been going on for months. In desperation I started taking Aspirin for the pain. Nothing was helping, so I took more, and more, etc, etc.
hey how are you feeling now? the symptoms you describe slow pulse and trouble breathing are definitely signs of overdose. if the symtoms continue you should go to the er. make sure you take as prescribed. overdosing of subox can cause coma and death. be careful. you should stay awake now.
Vomitting, severe sweating, headache, and eventually respitory failure followed by either death from choking on your vommit, or death by slowed and or stopped breathing (which will likely be very painful). It is not a pleasent topic too discuss, and it is very unfortunate when this type of thing happens. The saddest part is that most over doses can be reversed if immediate action is taken (calling the paramedics).
THE OPIOID ANTAGONISTS (BLOCKERS) NALOXONE (NARCAN) OR NALTREXONE (DEPADE) WILL REVERSE THE OVERDOSE.
My mother has been addicted to vicodin for 9 years because of numerous bowel surgeries. The doctor has decided to use the drug vicodin to keep the bowel under control so she is able to keep weight on....but this doctor really dosen't know what damage he has done by doing this. He hasn't researched any other drugs to see what else would do the same thing without causing such negative side affects. She takes about 8 ES vicodin a day.
I am embarrassed to admit that I am 42 years old and addicted to Vicodin ES - sometimes up to 10 tablets a day. It started over 5 years ago after a pinched nerve in my back. I have since developed chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia although I am not sure if the addiction has brought on the problem. Before that I worked out 6 days a week and taught aerobics.
My wife has been on 80 to 100 mg 10-325 dosage vicodin for close to 10 years now. Blood tests say her liver is fine (so the doctor says) and she has hep C. She also started taking oxycodone 10 mg 5 times a day about 1 1/2 years ago. We feel she needs to end the vicodin usage asap and up the dosage of the oxycodone. She has been bringing this up to her pain management phys-assistant for 6 to 8 months and she tells her just keep doing what your doing!
I would like a professinal opionin on my problem. I have been taking vicodin with beer or wine for about a year. I only do it once or twice a week. They say not to do this, "warnings on the prescription". I have been having abdominal pains, sometimes bad headaches and confusion. (not during my high) I'm afraid I have some liver damage. The Dr. is checking my gallbladder, I think I will tell him of my abuse. I really need to know what the effects on the liver is.
I am 25 years old and I'll never forget about 2 years ago I was very hung over on my mother's couch and she gave me a pill (Vicodin) that would help me feel better. And at that time I was so sick I'd take anything. So I took one and automatically passed right out. Taadaaa I woke up feeling amazing.
But, as I said, in my case, I have a deal with the devil that keeps me alive (I also haven't used Vicodin or Tylenol for several years, not wanting to test the limits of my infernal contract.) As long as you don't exceed the maximum prescribed Vicodin dose, Bizziebe, you won't overdose on the Tylenol, so this message isn't really meant to alarm as much as educate you.
I believe my boyfriend of 4 years is secretly adicted to vicodin. I continuously see him taking one or I just find them randomly they are yellow watsons 1000mils. Everytime I ask him how often he takes them he brushes me off & says once in a while when "his back hurts", when I ask where he gets them from he comes up with a random person I don't know, so I can't investigate it any further. What should I do?

I was in extreme discomfort, because I really need some type of paon pill. But I got off the the Vicodin, and was taking muscle relaxants which was ok. Not great but doable. Then Wednesday, I got 5 Norco's from my daughter. Did 4 that night and had 1 Thursday. That day at work was hell - I was going through full . blown w/d. So, last night, I went and found me 15 Norco's. Did e' almost all, too. I have 3 left. Can't sleep because the drug makes me speed.
Please believe me when I tell you that coke is death. Coke is death. Coke is death. Get it? It's the most evil, addictive and destructive substance ever made and should be eradicated from the Earth. It addicts from the very first exposure and gradually destroys the part of your brain responsible for allowing you to feel pleasure. It plain burns it out. It is a man-made horror.
I've been taking about 6 Vicodin a day for over & year & now I'm out. What will the withdrawal be like? Anything I can do as far as over the counter products or easy to obtain herbal or natural remedies? Please answer fast.
I s this a common effect of the withdrawal of Vicodin/Tramadol? How long will they last? I forgot to tell I was using Vicodin for about a year twice daily and Tramadol for about 2 years , also twice daily. Never seeked or experienced any high, so I'm not psychologically addicted, but of course my body got used to it. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Ya know , just wondering, becuase Im feeling real sorry for myself today. 4th round of Clomid with IUI. Next step injectibles with IUI, then on to ye old IVF. My tooth is all messed up and Im on Vicodin, Antibitics & advil Ive gained like 30 Lbs. from all these hormones and meds and I'm just plain tired.. so what am I going to do, you ask? Death by cheesecake. All of you stay back.. don't try and stop me. I have a pie knife and a serving fork.. so just watch yourselves..
i have been taking 1-2 vicodin 5/500 per day for about a year and a half....I have tremendous anxiety and this is the only thing that really helps me, and it REALLY helps me. I've tried MANY anti-anxiety drugs...lexapro, xanax, ativan, and none of them help me the way vicodin does. I do realize that vicodin isn't traditionally prescribed to relieve anxiety, but it really works wonders for me....anyway, i had bloodwork done recently and my ALT test came back at 3X above normal.
NEVER break tablets, open capsules or cut patches as a way to reduce the dosage because such damage or tampering can release the whole dose at once, causing overdose and death. If you are taking an extended-release medication and need to reduce your dose, take the whole pill or capsule or use the whole patch. Take or use the medication less often to reduce the dosage. In an ideal situation, you would do this under a doctor’s care and advice. What is opioid withdrawal syndrome?
First a doctor can put you on pain meds that do not contain tylenol. I would be scared to death to try going off of pain meds by myself because I know what withdrawal symptoms can be like.
I have been taking Vicodin ES for two and a half yrs, again :( I was on them for at least 10 yrs before that w/ only one two month break. I went off a few yrs ago and was off for a yr before I made the all too familiar choice to use vidodin again thinking I could control it. ( I was prescribed it for back pain and migraines) About a month after I began taking it I was hooked again. A month has now turned into 2 1/2 yrs!!
I am also as addicted to Vicodin as anyone can get. I take up to 50 vicodin ES's a day and have been for years. I have been in rehab once before 4 years ago and lasted less than a week and have been taking them almost every day since then. I have once again come clean to my wife and family today and finally admitted that I was an addict.
Using this medicine by inhalation or injection can cause life-threatening side effects, overdose, or death. What is tramadol? Tramadol is a narcotic-like pain reliever. Tramadol is used to treat moderate to severe pain. Tramadol extended-release is used to treat moderate to severe chronic pain when treatment is needed around the clock. Tramadol may also be used for other purposes not listed in this medication guide.
The smaller number shows the amount of vicodin. It sounds like you might be onthe 7.5 vicodin. It also sounds like you are right at that turning point where use is starting to show signs of abuse. You are not taking much more than prescribed. I recommend (and im not a dr., just a vike user) that even if you are in a bit of pain, you cut down your use to one pill in the morning and then half and noon and half at night.
Sometimes I think people would be better off on oxycontin because it won't damage or shut down your liver but it can shut down your heart and lungs from overdose a lot easier than vicodin.
Proposed Tylenol restrictions worry patients FDA is considering reduced maximum dose, ban on Vicodin and Percocet WASHINGTON - Proposed limits on Tylenol, a painkiller as common as pain itself, have left many consumers fearful, confused and wondering where to turn for relief. The potential government crackdown on acetaminophen, Tylenol's main ingredient, would affect everyone from occasional pill poppers to chronic pain sufferers who rely on daily doses to make their lives more bearable.
Hello, I have been a chronic vicodin user for almost 5 years. My max was about 10 Norco for about 6 months but have used on and off for about 5 years, average 5 per day. I know that I have probably done permanent damage to my liver. I know I need to go get my liver checked but I am scared to death. For those people out there that have gotten tested, how much were you guys using and your liver still checked out ok???
Hi all, I would just like to say that I have been lurking on this site for awhile now before finally deciding to kick my habit. I have been addicted to Vicodin on and off for around 2 1/2 years. I recently decided it was time to stop after having taken it for 3 months straight. I just did not like what I was becoming, and what this drug was doing to my life in general.
