It has been eight months and i am still on vicodin. Now i am on vicodin es. I tried to stop for two days and never experienced anything like the pain i went through. My doctor is trying to wein me off but it is very hard to stay on target. I am scared and worried what will follow. Is ther hope. SINGER.
Can you become addicted to Vicodin in one week? My doctor put me on it for pain. Because I am sensitive to medications I only take 1/2 in the morning and 1/2 at night. I take Tylenol inbetween. I had what I might call withdrawl even though I didn't stop taking it. Suffer from depression and would really like to put a stop to the medication if that is what caused it. My heart felt like it was beating out of my chest, chest pain, body shaking and scared.
I know one of the symptoms is extreme fatique. I have also heard that joint pain and muscle pain are other indications. I do have rheumatoid artritis and some of your symptoms (jaw problems and joint pain) are somethings that I deal with. RA diagnoses is a very simple blood test and it maybe be worth checking out with your doctor. Again, I'm not a physician and am coming at this from my own personal experience.
My friend who was on treatment for 50 weeks said the only way she made it thru was by smoking a joint. She had never smoked before but this gave her relief. So who knows????????????
He is seeing a pain specialist at UCLA and is working on the proper dosage for my son. The joint pain is almost all the way gone now. I believe the joint pain is explained by a reaction he had to an antibiotic called Levaquin after surgery. Some people do get reactions to this medication and it could take a few months (some less time, some more time) to get back to normal. Again, thanks for your help!!
I wasted years with an orthopedic treating my MCP joint with coritsone injections and Vicodin. I finally went to a hand surgeon. Long, long story short, had the joint replaced, giant failure, nine more surgeries and the pain is worse than ever. I have essentially no function with that hand now. Find a top-notch doctor/surgeon and find out your options and research them. My doctor was terrific; unfortunately, the implant used failed across the board. Good luck.
My MD gave me darvocet and for 2 days I had to take them causeThe hip was so bad I COULD NOT LAY DOWN FLAT. I could not sleep for 2 days. IT was so painful through joints. ITS like a labor pain that never stops or a tooth ache that never gets pulled. I am 52 and figure its harder on me as I do have arthritis. The muscle aches are the same , I took warm bathes and heating pad too. I wish I had some answers for us.I dont ev,en know what migratory is? Is it a infection?
52? OLD RN? What an insult to me. I'm sure your screen name is just for humor! I detoxed in my menopause. I had my menopausal hot flashes under control w/harmones at the time. So when you say cold sweats, is it like you have a hot flash then become chilled after the flash stops? Good news on the pain. First the bad news though. The pain will be almost unbearable during & after detox, so don't allow that to make you slip up.
Both ankles are swollen, right hand 3 fingers are swollen and 2 joints, now left hand is red and painful on verge of swelling. My jaw pain, neck and shoulders are now painful. Really hope I can get in to Rheumatologist very soon. Only taking Vicogin for pain. Any more advise would be appreciated.
For about the past 6-8 months my doctor has had me on cymbalta 30 mgs, which seems to work real well with the pain. But the joint stiffness and crepidess is still there and i get break through pain even though i still take 600-1000 mgs of ibuprofen a day. I was given percocets and vicodin to take for the break thru pain, but they are poison, addicting and i was developing a very high tolerance to the drugs, which scared me straight into not taking them anymore.
It is very common in adults older than 45 and can cause joint pain. Joint pain may also be caused by bursitis (inflammation of the bursae). The bursae are fluid-filled sacs that cushion and pad bony prominences, allowing muscles and tendons to move freely over the bone. For nonarthritis joint pain, both rest and exercise are important. Warm baths, massage, and stretching exercises should be used as frequently as possible. Anti-inflammatory medications may help relieve pain and swelling.
maybe talk to your dr about icreasing your sub for a bit for pain then taper back down to your normal dose who gave you the vic if your on subtex??
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has any muscle and joint pain before tx? I told my dr that I had very bad muscle and joint pain and he told me to go to my regular dr (which I dont have one) because he thought it was not from the Hep C...I dont know what else it could be from and I have tried taking Tylenol, Tylenol 8 hr, and Tylenol Arthritis...Please I am open to any suggestions on what works.
I have also done MRI's, X-rays, and have been told the pain is in my head. The doctors look at me like I am crazy or just trying to get pain meds! My joints in my low back, hips, neck, ankles, and wrists ache almost constantly and I have the urge to "twist and pop" almost always. My husband calls me "Grandma" because I crack and pop so much and I am only 33! What do they do at the Mayo Clinic and where is it? I too am getting more desperate.
Insomnia nausea vomitting sneezing yawning watery eyes diherea(sp) Restless leg syndrom muscle aches joint pain lower back pain muscle twitching/tremors anxiety mental cravings no appetite Most of these will subside by the fifth day and you will start feeling much better, then the real work begins. Have you looked into any type of aftercare? Good luck!
some days I have to wash her hair for her, and even aplly her deodorant because she is unable to raise her arms due to shoulder pain. Joint pain and swelling began immediately after she started Accutane. Her dermatologist lowered the dosage and told us the side effect was temporary. She finished her course, and her skin is gorgeous now. The cost, however, has been devastating. Her doctors tell us Accutane did not cause the arthritis. I wonder...
I HAVE BEEN TAKING VICODIN FOR MY CHRONIC BACK PAIN AND I WANT OFF OF IT I TALKED TO MY DR AND HE SAID I NEEDED TO GO TO A PSYCHI DR.

Started not long after high school with that first puff of a joint. Always somewhere to drown the pain. BAD family life. Seems like a such a common theme throughout my experiences with fellow users along the way. It's a place to hide, then when nothing is available we have to face the reality we have run from for so long. Of course, mine was my father, who after a 15 year disappearance shows up looking for redemption.
The problem is that my dependency on vicodin is very severe. I actually have back pain so I can obtain the es vicodin from my doctor occasionally. But I can also purchase them black market easily, which I have been doing constantly for the last year and a half. I started taking Vicodins to stop doing Percocets and Dilaudid. I have used Percocet on and off since 1983. When I had dental trouble early this year, I had access to about 200 Lorcet and Vicodin in one month. Legitimately.
it is only day 6 of being totally clean. I have bouts of terrible pain, restless leg syndrome, joint pain, sweating a little off and on, IM showering daily because it seems like the drugs are 'pouring out my system" my hair and sweat glands smell terrible! is this the toxins from the drugs leaving my body? I never had a body odor problem before! my hands, knees, back, ribs all go into 'spasm' like pain which can last up to 4-5 hours at a time. my sleep is irradic.
Usually start you out on 300to 600mg/day and titrate you up to 2400mg which usually controls the majority of your pain. Neither one alone or the combination will kill all the pain, but you might get rid of 60-80%.
I just want to stop. When I try to stop, I can handle the joint pains and the runs. They start about 12 hours after taking my last Vic. The only thing that I cant handle is the sleep part. I have a hard time not sleeping for two days. So that is when I go out and get some Vic’s to sleep, then it starts all over again. If I can just get past the sleeping part. Starting today I don’t have any. So I guess this will be day one for me. I work 3rd shift as a supervisor. I’ll be fine at work.
As far as taking any of them you probably need to stop completely. That's a lot of pills to take. I also have 2 kids and I have back pain from surgery and joint problems and I'm learning how to deal with that without the pills. You may not take them to get high but taking that many is a problem. It takes time to get completely clean as I am learning but anything is better than killing myself with these pills especially for my kids. Good luck. You'll find a lot of people helping on here.
I've had unbearable pain in my hip joints, and right leg which I thought was a scitic nerve condition, unable to get a definitive diagnosis. MRI revealed a degenerative disc condition on L1-L2, L3-L4 and an 8mm heamgiona on L3. The doc says I souldn't be in as much pain as I complain of, and vevryone has some kind of degenerative disc condition at 41.
