Can you become addicted to Vicodin in one week? My doctor put me on it for pain. Because I am sensitive to medications I only take 1/2 in the morning and 1/2 at night. I take Tylenol inbetween. I had what I might call withdrawl even though I didn't stop taking it. Suffer from depression and would really like to put a stop to the medication if that is what caused it. My heart felt like it was beating out of my chest, chest pain, body shaking and scared.
Dear grandprairiebutterfly, I don't have fibromyalgia, but know people that do. I know one of the symptoms is extreme fatique. I have also heard that joint pain and muscle pain are other indications. I do have rheumatoid artritis and some of your symptoms (jaw problems and joint pain) are somethings that I deal with. RA diagnoses is a very simple blood test and it maybe be worth checking out with your doctor. Again, I'm not a physician and am coming at this from my own personal experience.
My friend who was on treatment for 50 weeks said the only way she made it thru was by smoking a joint. She had never smoked before but this gave her relief. So who knows????????????
He does have some sinus issues and had surgery about 4 weeks ago to remove a mucocele from the left sphenoid sinus. His headaches persist every day and he now (since his surgery) has daily joint pain, daily weakness, occasional dizziness, and occasional mental fogginess. The headaches only subside by using Vicodin taking no more than 2-3 per day. I don't believe sinus explains all of the symptoms.
I wasted years with an orthopedic treating my MCP joint with coritsone injections and Vicodin. I finally went to a hand surgeon. Long, long story short, had the joint replaced, giant failure, nine more surgeries and the pain is worse than ever. I have essentially no function with that hand now. Find a top-notch doctor/surgeon and find out your options and research them. My doctor was terrific; unfortunately, the implant used failed across the board. Good luck.
I am experiencing symptoms that are similar to infection which beginning post 12 weeks of tx (48 weeks 1a genotype). I feel muscle/joint pain and it is migrating from place to place. They are always localized to the arms and legs. I experience the discomfort the most when my body is at rest. When I am moving around I feel perfectly fine. My question is, during infection, the joint/muscle pain symptom, is it migratory. How severe and does it only show when the body is at rest?
Gave me a shot in joint of cortizone and I had bad reactions and still swollen and red. I went to ER Monday and they gave me Vicodin for pain. Has anyone else had similar symptons and still negative results on blood work for rhmeutoid arthritis? Any help would be appreciated. I have been to 5 doctors now. I have not worked for 2 months. Have checked my only kidney as well.
It is very common in adults older than 45 and can cause joint pain. Joint pain may also be caused by bursitis (inflammation of the bursae). The bursae are fluid-filled sacs that cushion and pad bony prominences, allowing muscles and tendons to move freely over the bone. For nonarthritis joint pain, both rest and exercise are important. Warm baths, massage, and stretching exercises should be used as frequently as possible. Anti-inflammatory medications may help relieve pain and swelling.
I have been thru them before and what a nightmare!! Sweating and leg pain were the worst. I currently see two different doctors to get my vicodin and I have been caught by one of the doctors. They told me that if I didn't want to be turned in, I better not call them again. I cannot tell you how humiliating that was. But to get a hold of the vicodin I'm about willing to do anything. The patch does NOT have the same effect mentally as the vicodin does.
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has any muscle and joint pain before tx? I told my dr that I had very bad muscle and joint pain and he told me to go to my regular dr (which I dont have one) because he thought it was not from the Hep C...I dont know what else it could be from and I have tried taking Tylenol, Tylenol 8 hr, and Tylenol Arthritis...Please I am open to any suggestions on what works.
) And, the pain...I can hardly take it anymore. Now it’s in every joint and pinching all the nerves. I am planning a trip to Mayo in Feb or March 2008 - whenever I can get in. I'm desperate. My body feels like it is collapsing. Docs say not EDS and I agree. They are trying me on Enbrel. After one month...no change and in fact I'm worse. All my joints catch and crunch. It's scary. Really scary, in fact. How can we get in touch with each other?
some days I have to wash her hair for her, and even aplly her deodorant because she is unable to raise her arms due to shoulder pain. Joint pain and swelling began immediately after she started Accutane. Her dermatologist lowered the dosage and told us the side effect was temporary. She finished her course, and her skin is gorgeous now. The cost, however, has been devastating. Her doctors tell us Accutane did not cause the arthritis. I wonder...
Insomnia nausea vomitting sneezing yawning watery eyes diherea(sp) Restless leg syndrom muscle aches joint pain lower back pain muscle twitching/tremors anxiety mental cravings no appetite Most of these will subside by the fifth day and you will start feeling much better, then the real work begins. After the physical, you'll deal with other stuff maybe, like your brain giving you excuses to use. Try to keep the withdrawl pain fresh in your mind, and know that if you do pills again, your going to have to start over. NA can help too.
it is only day 6 of being totally clean. I have bouts of terrible pain, restless leg syndrome, joint pain, sweating a little off and on, IM showering daily because it seems like the drugs are 'pouring out my system" my hair and sweat glands smell terrible! is this the toxins from the drugs leaving my body? I never had a body odor problem before! my hands, knees, back, ribs all go into 'spasm' like pain which can last up to 4-5 hours at a time. my sleep is irradic.
I need some help, I have been trying to come off vicodin for about a week now. Every time I stop, the first day or two I cant sleep. So I go out to find vicodin so I can sleep. I take about 10 a day of the 7.5. I called the Doc and he was going to put me on suboxen??. I cant afford it. Does any one know how long it will be before I can sleep. Is there any sleeping pills that help. Would xanax help?
I dont know where to begin. Please help i am a 30 yr old male. When i take Vicodin i have no pain, my hands a warm again, i have an appitate, i feel like i can do anything in life. Without them i feel usless and always in pain.
But the joint stiffness and crepidess is still there and i get break through pain even though i still take 600-1000 mgs of ibuprofen a day. I was given percocets and vicodin to take for the break thru pain, but they are poison, addicting and i was developing a very high tolerance to the drugs, which scared me straight into not taking them anymore. My question is this, i have never been really diagnosed with anything other than, "we really don't know".
I have been taking 1/2 of a 5g. vicodin once a day for almost 2 years. Will it be hard to kick this?
My last chemo treatment was in June 2009 and I also took a research drug called Sutent that continued until Sept 2009. I have had continued bone and joint pain and it keeps me up at night. I am very restless and can't get comfortable. Advil, Aleve, Tylonel do not help much. I have had a bone scan when I complained about it to my oncologist a few months ago but nothing came up. Looks like something needs to be researched on the long term side effects of this chemo drug.
I've always had some general achiness for years (I assume arthritis) but suddenly over past 2 months pain in knee got really bad to the point of difficulty bending it and hurts to walk. Now I have pain in arm, elbow & shoulder too with some lower back pain. My doctor ran some tests, said neg. for lupus & R.A. but I do have a very high ANA number. He recommended rheumotologist, but still have to wait several weeks to get in. In the meantime, I'm scared and sore and painful!
I am having a very hard time sleeping with maybe just a couple hours off sleep a night. Muscle and joint pain in my arms and legs is driving me nuts. So hard not to take a pill to get rid of the pain but so far so good. I have been weaning myself off of them and am down to 1/2 pill a day and will completely quit in two more days. I never want to go through this again! Any advice? I did not know insomnia was a detox symptom. Anything you can do to relieve aching muscles and joints.
How long does it take subutex to ware out of your system so i can take vicodin for pain because am terified!
I did stop taking 5/500 for about 4 days when I ran out a couple months ago and went through withdrawal. The worst was the joint pain and my back hurting 10 times more and no over the counter meds helped. I also had very bad restlessness for 24-36 hours. I would sweat a lot and couldn't sit still and would toss and turn violently trying to sleep at night. I will have no more meds in 3 days and also see my doctor then. If he doesn't continue the pain meds then I'll be on my own to detox.
