Common Questions and Answers about Vicodin ingredients

vicodin

I have been taking vicodin 7.5/750 for several months and all the tylonel is starting to upset my stomach. Does anyone know the different strengths of vicodin so I can try something different?
no, hydrocodone is vicodin. Morphine sulfate is the active ingredient in morphine. If you are worried about a possible reaction to the medication, I would speak to your local pharmacists. I'm not sure if hydrocodone and morphine are in the same family of drugs. I know vicodin and percocet are in a similar family (due to codine), but morphine is much different. refer to this website. http://www.rxlist.com/duramorph-drug.
Thank You All, It's wierd how the only meds I would ever take regulary were my DOC's... i never could stay in another habit of taking multi-vitamins regularly... don't know why.. kinda wierd. So i'm afraid that if i make this complicated, & its not my DOC that I WANT, then i won't follow thru. So, trying to keep it simple... I assume if i start out with just taking the L-Tyrosine in the AM with B6.. this should be good for now?
Interactions between your selected drugs hydrocodone (Ingredient of Vicodin) and phenyltoloxamine (Ingredient of Momentum) (Moderate Drug-Drug) MONITOR: Central nervous system- and/or respiratory-depressant effects may be additively or synergistically increased in patients taking multiple drugs that cause these effects, especially in elderly or debilitated patients.
Carbamazepine is metabolized in the liver and can cause an increase in the acetaminophen (which is an ingredient of vicodin) metabolism. This can cause liver damage if you are on acetaminophen chronically or in higher doses. With all this being said, most people can tolerate the two medications, but patients do need to be monitored while on them. If your pain is tolerable, ibuprofen is a safe option. I would discuss this with your physician.
I think you are talking about the main active ingredient of Suboxone right? I think that could be a very good idea for managing your addiction and your life and start to work on steps to get totally clean in time if that is what you want.. BEST OF LUCK!
I have been treated w/Vicodin for awhile now for chronic pain. I have now moved from the US to India, where it is not available. Any recommendation for alternatives? I can't take codeine long term, and take Effexor, neurontin and metformin daily, w/Soma PRN as well. I can have scripts shipped here if need be, but wold prefer to avoid the hassle/expense.
I have been on Vicodin ex for about 3 years for a piched nerve resulting in hand and arm pain. I have come to the conculsion that the pain can be tolerated, but not the addiction to the vicodin. It controls my life and when I dont take it I cant sleep or hardy function. I have taken as many as 6 to7 Ex a day. I am down to no more than 2 a day now but the withdrawal is at its worst. No sleep, headaches, twicthing. Is there anything a doctor can do?
I have been taking vicodins for about 11 years now. I think I have always known that I have an addiction but when I went through 26 vicodin hp's in 4 days, I think I really realized how bad the problem is. I can't afford a detox program or a treatment center. I have been off them for only two days and the withdrawls are hell. How long do they last and what is the best way to deal with them?
How do I wean myself off a 2 year 4 pill a day vicodin habit without going into treatment? Kicked booze once cold turkey but this one is tough. Don't want my grown kids to know, and my husband is very ill, so this has to be a private battle with the help of this site. Any really good over the counter stuff I can use? I have celexa from several years ago but it gave me the creeps so I quite taking it.
I need help...i stopped taking vicodin 2 days ago, im sick as a dog..i cant go to detox, nobody knows about it..(family,coworkers.etc) im having flu like symptoms i can barely focus on this task right now, i was taking between 2000 and 4000 mg a day for the past two years, im confused, ive been crying not sleeping having nightmares going to the bathroom every 5 minutes..i feel like dying...any suggestions for at home treatments? thanks ..
I wasn't always one. It started off fine. I would get prescribed Vicodin after having dental work done, and would be excited to have the drug "for fun" (it never really helped with pain...I prefer ibuprofen...but it made me feel good). The 20 or so pills in the prescription would last about a week or so, and I'd never look back. I wasn't addicted. However, for the past six months, things have began changing. I met the wrong kind of person. Someone who sells the stuff.
I absolutely cant miss time at work and my job is extremely important for me right now. Recently i found someone with some vicodin 750s and i have some of those. I have been doing 2 or three of those a day for the past few days and not any oxy's at all. Im hoping that going to a couple vicodins a day will make the withdrawals much more manageable. With the vicodins i dont really get 'high" or anything, but I dont feel the need to get the oxys.
First off I must commend everyone for dealing with this horrible addiction and doing their best to beat it. I've been taking vicodin for almost 2 years now and I must say I'm watching myself go down the drain. It all started with the dentist prescribing me about 20 pills to buying 100 at a time on the street. Just today my girlfriend said to me "I can't even think of the time where you went from buying 10 pills to buying 100 at a time." I can't tell you how much I want off.
| . While these past years he has been taking vicodin. I'm not adzactly sure on what size mg or the amount. I do know that he now takes it for addiction. He is taking almost 30 of the watson 1000mg vicodins a day. He runs out a week or more before his next prescription. So i have been illegally supplying him with them. However, my usual method of getting it is over with. I'm beginning to worry because he is constantly withdrawing VERY BAD. My question is, can not taking these pills harm him?
I need some help, I have been trying to come off vicodin for about a week now. Every time I stop, the first day or two I cant sleep. So I go out to find vicodin so I can sleep. I take about 10 a day of the 7.5. I called the Doc and he was going to put me on suboxen??. I cant afford it. Does any one know how long it will be before I can sleep. Is there any sleeping pills that help. Would xanax help?
I will be here as long as you need me :) I'm glad that some things have been able to take your mind off of things. How have you been sleeping? When I went through withdrawls sometimes I would take Tylenol PM or Benadryl (both have the same active ingredient of "diphenhydromene" in them.) But since wds can cause restless leg syndrome, I was told to take it, then take a hot bath right before bed because diphenhydromene can sometimes increase the feelings of restless leg syndrome.
I just finished getting Vicodin out of my system. I had gotten prescribed Vicodin by my Rheumatologist for my arthritis. I abused it, and when she wouldn't refill it, I did a bad thing. You see, I WORKED in a pharmacy, so I just borrowed some. This went on for about 2 months, until I finally got caught and fired. That happened last Friday, so that prompted my stopping taking it. I had support from my husband and mother, and I thought I could take the withdrawels. But I couldn't.
Yes, it is possible that you are allergic to an inactive ingredient in Tylenol. As far as I know, there is no anti allergic in Vicodin---anti tussive (anti cough)—yes. Painkillers one needs to take many a times. You should consult an allergy specialist and get yourself tested for allergies to acetaminophen and other pain killers and to the inactive ingredients in these medications. Then you will know for sure what you are allergic to.
Vicoden is one of many pain control meds thats active narcoric ingredient is hydrocodone - usually along with anywhere from 350-1000mg of acetaminophen depending upon which formulary is prescribed. Its not a toy and isnt much good for chronic pain as far as I am concerned........
ADELPHI, Md. - Government experts say prescription drugs like Vicodin and Percocet that combine a popular painkiller with stronger narcotics should be eliminated because of their role in deadly overdoses. A Food and Drug Administration panel on Tuesday voted 20-17 that prescription drugs that combine acetaminophen with other painkilling ingredients should be pulled off the market.
Lowering my vicodin dosage and wondering if any one knows any good methods to tapper off of vicodin. Been taking 7.5 for a while and no I will not steal or take drugs from my friends.
Different drugs entirely. Vicodin is Lortab is Norco is Hydrocodone is. Codeine is entirely different. The reason you can switch between those and for that matter, any opiate, is because they are cross-tolerant. They are substitutable, but the dosages wouldn't be the same for the same effect. A look at an opiate milliequivalency scale would be needed or people experiment.
My story is very similiar to Audrey Jeana's. With the exception of my age, (47), taking "vicodin" for 2.5yrs. daily, after surgery in Oct. 2007. I take a half at a time, but I take several a day, sometimes totaling up to 5 or 6 whole a day. It's gotten to the point where it's the first thing I do when I get up, then I'm up for maybe 4hrs. & am ready for a nap. I sleep for another 2 or 3 hrs. take another half, & that continues for the rest of the day & into the wee hrs.
Use the money that you spent on pills and buy the ingredients in the Thomas recipe (bottom right hand corner of this page). Buy some Gatorade, bananas and your favorite healthy food. Since your bathroom visits are infrequent you may have some intense stomach pain. The immodium will help. Can you take off work? Do you have one child? Have you ever tried to detox before? I have asked so many questions, I will wait for your answers and then post again. There is so much to say.
This is a recipe for at-home self-detox from opiates based on my experience as well as that of many other addicts. It is not intended as professional medical advice. It is always wise to make sure none of the recipe ingredients or procedures conflict with medications you may be taking. Likewise, if you have any medical condition, disease, allergy or any other health issue, consult your doctor before using the recipe. Thanks, Thomas This recipe is designed for cold turkey opiate detox.
i will look at the thomas withdrawl ingredients and stock up. if i can't do this, i have promised myself i will tell my family so i can possibly check myself in. you are so right about finding out why i do this. i use to be in counseling and i think i will start that back up again. i need to slay the demons that make me want to stay high!!!
- the number of mgs people respond with usually refers to the addictive ingredient (hydrocodone with vicodin). For example, if someone states they're taking 100mgs of vicodin a day, it would mean ten 10mg pills or twenty 5 mg pills. Anyway, when you wrote 2,000 mgs and no one responded, it just surprised me. I originally thought you were taking 200mg's a day (which many people have) - and that's a rather nasty habit.
