Vicodin in urine drug test

Common Questions and Answers about Vicodin in urine drug test

I now need to go and take a drug test for a new job and I need to know how long the vicodin will show in my system. I currently weigh 225lb but have lost 184lb in the last 2 years and I am not sure how this will be stored in my fat cells. Any suggestions on how to flush my system of it all?
I had to take my routine urine drug screening test for pain management, it came up positive for norhydrocodone but I have not taken anything in the vicodin family of drugs at all. How could this have happened?
You mean a urine test? Ask for a blood test. I CAN;T HAVE ANY VALIUM in my URinE . THE LAST TIME I HAD A VALIUM WAS SUNDAY NOV 4 . ANY IEDEA HOW TO GET IT OUT . I HEARD 4-6 WEEKS ..
i'm in the drug court system in my county. i have not used drugs in the past thirty days, but this past friday i took a 10mg lortab. today is monday and i have to take a drug test. do you think the lortab will show up today?
htm in order to test positive for our meds we have to have the required amount in our system that the test requires in order to test positive. If one test requires only trace amounts then surly there will be no problem, if one test requires that a high level be detected then we will have to have that level in order to test positive. There are thirteen drugs known to cause false negatives in these test. I have posted them before and will find them and re post them.
Since you know the real deal I would also advise another test - whether it is a different lab or a different test type - the drug interaction with the liver is what I was talking about in first post - that breakdown and conversion is too often picked up as yet another drug postitive. You know what the real score is. Ask for a test that will settle the doubt. It looks worse if you dont pursue it your self........
He recently took a drug test (urine and blood) to prove I'm taking it. my last dose was the night before my test. I tested negative for any drugs!!! He took away my prescription and I'm now left with the back pain that affects my work. What can I do? I don't understand why it didn't show up in the tests????? Thanks for your help......
So I see my doctor today and he says that my drug test showed only Soma in my urine and NO vicodin. I told him I take the vicodin every single day. He told me I was a liar and said he knows the truth and the truth was on that paper he was holding. He said I was probably selling them or I gave him someone else's urine (ewww!). I DID NOT!!! He was just mean. He said that paper would hold up in a court of law and it did not matter what I said. But I take my meds as he prescribes them!!
Could it be he was just trying to trick you to see if you were an Oxy user? I assume this was a urine test. So let me know if it was done right there and if not, ask for a copy of the results since he could now discharge you on grounds you broke any contract they often have you sign. The lowest level they used to be able to detect things like vicodin (hydrocodone) without spending too much for better tests was 100 PPM. Good luck.
Most pain management programs have gotten strict, if the rx that is old was in your name you may be ok but its really up to the doctor, running out of meds in the programs here is just as bad as doing illegal drugs. Technically the vicodin is a variance, its hard to say how your doctor would feel but mine requires me to take my rx & nothing else and have it in my urine when he asks me to take a test b/c with any variance you could loose your medicine. It all depends on your doctor.
I go to PM monthly for 5 yrs now. I have had numerous urine drug test as per contract with them. This last one came up positive for vicodin and lorazepam, these are meds I don't take at all, I am on 60mgs of OxyContin 3x's a day with 10 mgs of oxycodone for breakthrough pain 3x's a day as well. I am also on .5 mgs of alprazolam for severe anxiety 1 every 6 hrs so I can not understand how those other drugs came up positive when I know for a fact that I did not ingest them.
that is a broud spectrum test for opites. That test has a minimum threshold, that means there has to be a certain level of the drug in your system B 4 it will flag an opite responce.AND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 6 %!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! of the fentanyl is excreated in the urine. So if you do the math, thats nowere nere enought to flag that responce. And the doctors kicked me out of there office also, and was also told to never come back.
I'm very active with a high metabolism and work in hot weather 10 hours a day. my problem is that I've been randomly selected for a urine drugs test on Friday sometime, giving me 3 days to clean out my system. Will my system be cleaned out by then? Would drinking alot of water help? Or is there a better choice of sometime to drink that would clean out my system faster? I hope that you can answer my questions and give me any tips that you would think that would help me in the next few days.
Your doctor does not have a case - just because a drug does not show up in a urine test that does not mean you are "selling" drugs illegally. This would not stand up in a court of law. I suggest you find a new doctor.
She slipped up on Thursday Aug 7 and took 4 5mg vicodins. my question is - Will she test positive on a urine test on Monday Aug 18nth? Thanks one and all for your response - the anxiety and fear is driving her insane and I would love to put her mind at ease or confirm her fears. Either way, not knowing his driving her stress levels through the roof. Thanks, again.
I AM ON METHADONE for BACK PAin AND WENT in for A drug test AND IT DID NOT SHOW UP in THE OPIATE CATAGORY; AND EVEN my DR THAT PRESCRIBED IT DID NOT KNOW THIS. IT IS A MAN MADE NARCOTIC AND THAT IS WHY IT HAS TO BE testED for in A DIFFERANT WAY. ASK IF YOUR DR KNOWS THAT. YOU CAN ASK SOMEONE THAT WORKS in A LAB (THATS HOW I FOUND OUT) TO BE SURE for YOURSELF, BUT I KNOW IT for A FACT.
he asked me if I have ever had my urine checked. Is this a drug test? I'm told 2 vicodin es a day is very low amount. But this guy has me feeling like a drug addict in less than a year! I need a new PM, but if anyone knows what this test is please tell me. Also, if anyone knows of any good PM's in the Pittsburgh area please let me know!
in January i did a random urine drug screen I was hoorified at the results there were drugs in there I have never taken even an illict drug. my name wasnt on the cup it was placed by me in a room where there were several other cups no one checked the temperature. no chain of command. in february they filled my ms contin and in march now they cut me off and said i could get narcotics from another docter but still use them for epidurals and such.
I have to call my PCP today. Like I said my in other letters my PCP gave me the vicodin He did another urine test on me, knowing that I take my meds, he wants to see if they are gonna show up this time. If they dont he said that he is going to have to to testing to find out why im not filtering it out threw my urine. Atleast my PCP believes me and is looking into a reason why that happened to me. I also have to goto my ExPM dr, and get all my records on friday.
the dr. that said i failed his drug test threw papers at me and cursed me ,he started me on sept08, he did not start me out on a lower dose first.i am worried about withdrawls i have copd and hep.c in remission, should i have ever taken this drug?should he have given me something more than hydrocodone10/500 to come off of this med. i know that i am not susposed to have that much acedimine, what do u suggest i do about this? this hydro.
Most or all companys dont even test for vicodin, they test for the heavy stuff, I carry a CDL and drive school bus and I dont get tested for vicodin so I'm sure its not ever tested for .
I work with a woman who I believe has a severe addiction to vicodin. We work in a medical setting at a retirement community and she has access to narcotics. Pills have been stolen but we do not know quite how to confront her-she is the Director of this community. Please give us your advice!
I should mention though that they did allow me to break up my urine test in 2 payments so I didn't have to pay the whole $100 up front. But then again if they are gonna kick me out iy wouldn't matter because after co-pay and stuff they would get thier $100 anyhow.
Hello Tj, Welcome to the Pain Mangement forum. I am sorry that you have chronic back pain. We all know how disruptive it can be to our lives. You probably will be ok with the drug screening BUT what if you are not. You will destroy the trust your PMP has placed in you and you will in all probability be dismissed immediately from the clinic. Plus he must assume that what he is giving you is adequate for the month. These drug screens also measure the levels in your system.
Will you pass your drug test? Well it takes at least 72 hours for the vicodin to leave your system. It could linger longer but that is the general rule. Others will post will more information and knowledge than I have on the subject. I do encourage you to remedy the situation with your roommate before it leads to repeats or bigger problems. Good luck with your drug test.
