Avatar f tn The half-life of a drug is how long it takes for half of it to be eliminated from the bloodstream. Hope that helps.
6298176 tn?1380134459 It has a very long half life, though I can't give you specifics. The dose and how long you were on it does factor in. Your doctor should be able to help you with your questions on this.
1494729 tn?1304881080 s the best way to quit and im on my second day i feel kinda weird but i use to snort like at least 6-7 a day for like the past year and a half..any info would be helpful..thanks.
Avatar f tn Drop your use down right away to one pill less for 4-5 days, then drop another, then a half, and another half etc. When you get down to one half pill, take that only between 6-8 pm(or two hours before you go to bed). It will help you sleep and not be so restless. In fact you will want to funnel your use down to that time period. If you take in the morning, it will be harder in the evening. The evening is always the hardest in my opinion.
Avatar f tn I also tried subs to get off of opiates and do about same taper as you and once i got down to 2mg once daily then 2 mg ever other day for week after my last 2mg dose I still had pretty bad w/d from sub for 3 to 4 days due to the half life that subs have they have a half life of 72 hrs. There was a man on here that was also on sub and explained half life great he too had w/d from sub... Let me see if i cant find his comment and post it 4 you.

535882 tn?1396576685 whats the half life for syntriod. about how much time does it take to build up in you and also leave your system?
Avatar f tn Like many drug addictions, cravings for Vicodin may suddenly occur years after the individual has stopped taking the drug. Vicodin’s half-life is about four hours, so the drug leaves the body completely after about eight hours. Once the drug begins to leave the body, withdrawal symptoms begin. While the worst of the withdrawal symptoms most likely end within 1-2 weeks, it is difficult to estimate the timeline accurately for each individual person.
Avatar f tn then I continued to take the valium with the vicodin to help me sleep when I took too much vicodin sometimes 2-3 a day.I feel so depressed, I hate myself for starting to take them again. My life was finally getting more organized, and it was great to not be a slave to the drugs.
Avatar f tn So I am a strong willed young man and I have decided to take half of a 5/500 Vicodin every morning to get me through the day. I only plan on doing this for a week or so, smart or dumb??? I know a few of you gave me your opinion on it yesterday so I decided to even cut the 1 Vicodin I was going to take to just half of one. I have the will power to not take more and I'm positive of that! Just wanted to hear some feed back and encouragement for you all.
Avatar f tn Today is actually day eight since i took a half of a vicodin. I thought for a minute that i would fall of the wagon from the pain setting back in but I didn't. I am so verrrrrrry proud of me. I am 100% withdrawal symptom free and feel pretty ok. I do still think sometimes wow right about now i should be taking a couple of pills, but I manage to work through it and move on. Thanks to everyone here, I did it. The virtual shoulders that i relied upon was the key to my success. Bless you all.

Avatar m tn Hello everyone, I'm new here...just found this site searching the internet for any help or support I could find. I've decided to quit taking the vic's and perc's which this week will be a year of taking them. I took them once before but never like this. I actually started taking them again when I delivered my daughter, almost a year ago. They gave them to me in the hospital and I quickly began abusing them shortly thereafter.
2730764 tn?1340148833 The main thing of course is the decision that you make and making it a priority in your life, because that will determine what your life will actually be and mean in the end. I don't want to sound preachy but it is not a decision you make one day, it is a decision you will make every day for the rest of your life. Good luck to you and take a look at my blogs and my clinic website for even more info on narcotic detox www.mdsdrugdetox.
Avatar n tn If you stop now, you may not feel anything the first day because of the half life, but on day two you may begin to feel the withdrawal. Like I said, you are on a low dose, so it will not take long for the physical to be over. God Luck.
Avatar n tn Well took my last half of my vicodin, am waiting on the withdrawal symptoms to start. What does anyone suggest for insomnia that has worked? I have gone through this before. I have got to stop this I am 50 Was taking 10 to 15 750 ES per day then 8 to 12 500 regulars have Dr and Dentist both give these to me. Last nite I took 1/2 of one before bed. I could tell I was in a bad way this morning. SO I took the other.
1494729 tn?1304881080 well it has been 25 days since i stumbled on this site and began my brand new life of living vicodin free and so far everything has been OK i am not complaining i have learned how to not only be a better person but a better father to my child so anyone out there still dealing with this nasty little devil called vicodin just know it can be over if you decide to cut it free and live life without painkillers.
1084115 tn?1385228589 The mean half-life for multiple doses in the body is about 12 days, but very long-term kinetics are dominated by the kinetics of RBCs (half-life 40 days). RBCs store ribavirin for the lifetime of the cells, releasing it into the body's systems when old cells are degraded in the spleen.
