587083 tn?1327120262 Considering that she is 3 months pregnant, I was wondering if she can do some exercise to alleviate the pain of sciatica. Is it not too early to have already sciatic pain? doesn't it start later in pregnancy? An advice would be very appreciated.Thank you.
Avatar m tn I would suggest you to continue with the ice packs and pain killers for relief from sciatic nerve spasms. You can also try soaking in a tub of warm water with Epsom salt added to it. Do not sit for prolonged periods of time, make sure you get up and walk every 20 minutes. You can also discuss the usefulness of muscle relaxants in your case with your treating doctor. Hope this helps!
1319727 tn?1274328754 Usually that kind of pain is from a prolapsed disc impinging the sciatic nerve so it made sense doing the MRI. BUT if isn't showing any nerve impingment there check out piriformis syndrome (PS) In this case the piriformis muscle, in the bum, can spasm and as the sciatic nerve runs just underneath and in some cases through the muscle it can irritate the sciatic nerve at this point. Google it and You Tube Dr. George Best and Dr. Aaron Filler they explain it much better than I can here.
Avatar f tn How in the world can you make the sciatic nerve pain go away! I'll be 39 weeks tomorrow and since 25 weeks or so I've had this horrible sciatic pain that doesn't let me walk at times, it gets really intense! Any pain relievers aside from Tylenol or warm pads?
Avatar n tn is it possible for a fall to result in sciatic nerve problems with no back pain
Avatar f tn Gabapentin works for some people and not for others. Compression of a nerve or nerve root typically isn’t helped that much by medications unless the compression is relieved first. Medications can help ease pain but not numbness once the compression is relieved.
535884 tn?1270898471 Hello Suec, Apparently you suffer from sciatic nerve pain. I do also. It is a horrible pain. I can relate and I am sorry that you are experiencing pain issues with your sciatic nerve. Ouch! Some years ago it was thought my pain was from my femoral nerve. Through a PM Clinic I was offered something similar to Radio Frequency Ablation but this procedure would basically have "killed" the nerve. I declined the procedure and I am so glad I did.
Avatar f tn That was why I chose to address his behavior changes instead of what I think his actions are. He was prescribed 7.5 vicodin and the soma by his dr for damage to his sciatic nerve about a year & half ago. Now he says he wants to talk to his dr about getting something for his nerves or this depression he is in.
Avatar n tn I went to my doctor yesterday for a regular appt and told her about my pain. She referred me to a physical therapist for sciatic nerve pain. But who knows how long that will take before I actually see one. I woke up this morning with the pain way worse. I can hardly walk or even stand up. Anyone have any tips or tricks to help with this? When/should I call my doctor again because the pain has gotten worse. Id say defiantly a 9.
Avatar f tn Today, I just started experiencing some pretty incomfrotable leg pains that start in my back and extend down my right leg. From what I've researched it seems to be sciatic nerve pain. Has anyone else experienced this? What did you do for pain relief? Im 16w 5d right now.
Avatar f tn Ok so I'm about 27 weeks pregnant or so, they still are having troubles dating my baby. I get this sharp pain that spirals down my left leg. It makes it nearly impossible to walk and sometimes it hurts so bad that I cry. If it's due to the baby and the sciatic nerve stretching id there anything I can do to relieve the pain?
4945970 tn?1361450429 Lower back pain is like an achy back and the sciatic nerve is a major nerve than runs from your back and down your leg to your feet. Sciatic nerve pain is more painful, sharp, shooting type pains that shoot from your lower back and down your leg.
Avatar f tn Experienced my first sciatic nerve pain last night. I've heard of it and people talking about it but I'm 33 weeks and haven't had any pain so I never asked about it or looked it up, and I didn't know what it was. OMG I was sleeping and it woke me up wincing in pain. I literally thought something was seriously wrong lol. My husband woke up freaking out that I was in labor and when I told him it was my upper thigh I didn't even know how to explain it.
587083 tn?1327120262 My daughter is 13 weeks pregnant and two days ago she started to have a pain in her buttock that runs down her leg(Sciatic nerve). What ca she do to alleviate the pain? is it normal to have sciatic pain at this early stage?.Your advice will be greatly appreciated.Thank you.
Avatar f tn Any moms out there have sciatic nerve pain?! I just found out that that's what's causing me so much pain and it frickin hurts.
Avatar f tn I'm 35 and 29 weeks pregnant with my third child. I've been having so much pain in my lower back, doctor said it's the pressure of the baby on my sciatic nerve. Sometimes I can barely walk! The pain is unbearable, but his only suggestion is to take Tylenol and apply heat! Any other suggestions? Help!
Avatar f tn Is there any other mommys to be out there suffering from sciatic nerve pain? If so how do you deal with it.
2109562 tn?1347253848 ve pulled a muscle. I have told my doctor about it and he just said probably laying on sciatic nerve n rubbed it off. Honestly so did i because it only happened every once in a while but since this past weekend its been hurting almost constantly sometimes goes away at night when he is awake. Or when i sleep after about an hour of waking up though it starts hurting. Yesterday it hurt so bad i just started bawling lol I'm not doing anything to stain myself or anything like that.
Avatar f tn 30 weeks and my sciatic nerve is killing me! Can't walk right can bend over anyone else experienced this? Just 10 more weeks!!
Avatar f tn I have the same problem.... I had problems even before I got pregnant but now being pregnant, its even worse. I've noticed having my knee proped up while laying on my back/side helps. Other than that there's not much you can do.
Avatar n tn You could have some nerve entrapment due to the stenosis. I have a very similar pain (sciatic) with similar symptoms, can't drive very long, sit or stand any amount of time either. I have SIJ Dysfunction. SIJ's do not show up on MRI's. So my suggestion to you is hang in there and don't you give up until your PCP is able to find a reason for your symptoms. The prednisone alone should make a difference in your pain level. I wish you the very best.
Avatar n tn I know Lyrica is for nerve pain. In the past, anti-inflammatories have done absolutely nothing for me, so I don't believe that my pain is being caused by inflammation, as one of my docs suggested. I may as well have been taking candy. I just know that I don't want to continue on the vicodin, but I need something. I guess it doesn't hurt to ask...
Avatar f tn Yep, that's sciatic pain! It just means that your sciatic nerve is pinched. Chiropractic is a miracle!
6778631 tn?1396407123 It seems like it would only get worse because isnt it that baby is sitting on Sciatic nerve? If baby os only gonna get bigger that would mean more weight on it and a not so good ending to this pregnancy for me.
Avatar f tn I am not sure if I am having sciatic nerve pain or if I pulled a muscle.. I am feeling a weird, sharp pain, but it doesn't shoot, in my left hip down into my but muscle. I feel it most when I am changing sleeping positions or for the first little bit when big get I ut of bed and start moving around. What do you guys think?
Avatar m tn I am 52, and have had severe sciatic nerve pain for months. An MRI was done and shows herniated disks in L3, L4, L5 and also, discs S1, and S2. Was told that the nerve could actually be seen spasming during the MRI and it is the S1, and S2 discs are compressing the sciatic nerve, and was sent to a neurosurgeon. I am facing surgery in the next few weeks. Would like to ask if anyone else has had this procedure done and how successful it was.
