Vicodin dosage per day

Common Questions and Answers about Vicodin dosage per day

vicodin

Avatar n tn i have been taking 1-2 vicodin 5/500 per day for about a year and a half....I have tremendous anxiety and this is the only thing that really helps me, and it REALLY helps me. I've tried MANY anti-anxiety drugs...lexapro, xanax, ativan, and none of them help me the way vicodin does. I do realize that vicodin isn't traditionally prescribed to relieve anxiety, but it really works wonders for me....anyway, i had bloodwork done recently and my ALT test came back at 3X above normal.
Avatar f tn It sounds like the dosage on the Tylenol is 1300mgs per every 6 hrs. which makes it 2600 per day. Yes, that is too much in my mind. To take this chronically would be risking your liver. Have a chat with your Doctor about decreasing the amount of Tylenol your getting.
Avatar f tn I have chronic pain, I had surgery for severe tennis elbow in 2007, now I have developed arthritis in the same elbow, my ortho doctor has me taking Vicodin 5/500 twice a day, can this become an ddiction?
Avatar m tn I was taking about 160mg oxycotin per day for about 4-5 months, I have taken vicodin plenty of times before for months at a time with little withdrawal I know that the amount of vicodin I am taking is no where close to that dosage of oxy and I think once I get past the first 10-12 days I will be okay tapering to 1 vicodin per day than half than none just not sure how this all works.
Avatar m tn However i sometimes take up to 2,500 mg of acetaminophen at once. Now i always year people say the max apap dosage is 4,000 mg per day. But nobody says what the body can handle at one time. So basically what i'm wondering is.... Does anybody think its possible that i've damaged my liver beyond repair??
Avatar m tn The Dr says he has patients that take as many as 6 per day. I have taken 8 in a day but I can go days without any if I stay off my feet and have no withdrawal. Am I addicted? I am afraid of them but my feet hurt so bad. I am afraid if I tell the Dr my concerns he will take them away and then I won't be able to do anything that requires being on my feet. Can you advise me?
Avatar m tn S INSTRUCTIONS as you could find your blood pressure drops too much and you pass out. I started taking them the day after I took my last vicodin (120+ days ago) and never took another vicodin. Clonidine helps immensely with a number of the symptoms. However, they will make your mouth dry and could make you very lethargic and tired. after a few weeks, I weened off as per my doctor's instructions. Please note the dosage is ".
Avatar m tn s/day Hydrocodone for about a year and a half for Disk degeneration, sciatica, and two bulged disks. Everytime the vicodin stops working with the OTC I cut the dosage down for a week or two and then it will start to work again. The problem is that I can't get beyond 1 a day. I have had six cortisone shots, all the nerves in my facet joints killed and I plan to get another round of cortisone when I can afford it. I have heard everything from this is not a problem to your a hard core addict.
1233941 tn?1267735211 I also noted some commenting that they are dosing two - three times per day. I am not a doctor and cannot recommend dosing, but the halflife with sub is nearly 40 hours and dosing once per 24 hours is more than enough, taking more than once per days is a mute point because it does not help with the drug taking behavior what so ever. I started out on 24mg from a 200mg+ hydrocodone habit. I quickly worked my way down to 16, then 8mg and took between 2 - 4 mg/day for several years.
Avatar n tn Thanks so much for your comments! How long have you been taking 5 per day?? I do feel a little bit better now than I did last night. I have a bad headache and my ears are plugged also??? I had bad stomach problems yesterday. I KNOW that's a symptom. But, now I am doing the taper thing and my stomach is fine. Everything else just feels like ****. ;-) I just didn't realize I would get addicted to it so fast!! It was only 3 months! Right now my head feels the worst.
Avatar f tn The last year I have no clue how many I took per day. I had other things going on in my life too. Anyway I am off the lorcet and all the other things 6 weeks now and I don't have the pain I used to have. I think pain killers make us have no tolerance for any kind of pain so we take more to stop the pain. No surgery for me I can tolerate the pain now. W/D's were hell the first week but they got easier, and I am glad to not be tied to all the meds. Just my view.
Avatar f tn I am prescribed Tramadol 50mg written as take 1-2 tabs every 4-6 hours No more than 8 tablets per day.. So if I was to get 80 of them. . That is a 10 day supply. I actually only take 6 per day. Everytime I call for a refill about 20 mins later a nurse calls me and tells me I'm 2 weeks early and that its a 28 day medication. I say its not a matter of days its an as needed medicine and I can take 8 per day!
Avatar n tn I posted earlier about some unusual experiences with sub but didn't give any details. My doc recommended me take either 4mg or 8 to start. I was in mild WDs, so I said I'll take 8 to make sure it would get me off those. He agreed, and said if i need more two hours later, take another. Anyway, to make a long story short, I ended up extremely sick the next day.
Avatar m tn He wants to gut it out and stop for a few days to get the drug out of his system (Taking around 50-60mg Vicodin/Norco per day). He then wants to ease the symptoms by taking 15 mg/day for a couple of days and then dropping in half each day for a few days. Will this "system" help him to avoid the the worst of it. He pretty scared right now and I can't answer him because I don't know. He pretty set on doing it this way. Thanks!
Avatar m tn I use a double dosage of miralax per day as a minumal starting point. Avoidance of certain food groups helps a great deal, the food maybe inside you for longer durations. Additional stool softners can also be included as needed. Hope you find a good solution that allows you to not give up your CP quality of life options.
Avatar f tn you're taking 2000 10MG hydro per day? or 20 10MG per day. Just to clarify. HUGE DIFFERENCE in w/d and other symptoms, so i think we're trying to clarify. 10MG lortabs or Norcos is the highest dose per pill (as far as my experience), so i'm just trying to see how you take 2000-4000 of them in a day (and be able to afford that addiction!). I hope that my math is right and yours is wrong, as i think you would be dead from the acetaminophen already...
Avatar f tn Endo doubles my dosage of tapazole to 30 mg per day. The symptoms slowed down. Now in March I gained weight - 15 lbs, think I am HYPO so I am going to cut down the tapazole and get blood work done. Diet has not changed at all. Is weight gain normal after high dose of tapazole. I think it was extreme for endo to put my dose from 15 to 30 mg per day ? My last reading said 19 - after a month of being at 30 mgs per day. Its two months later - and I gained 15 lbs and feel tired all the time.
Avatar m tn i did a ct detox but used my 2 week vacation...i know i could have never worked the first 5 days...i was using 10/12 per day for almost 4 years...it all depends....you might feel okay just a flu like illness...bathroom issues...maybe some depression....do it and get it over with.....staying clean is the hard part so don t look back...remember the pain of wds....good luck to you..
Avatar f tn Today is day 8 of vicodin withdrawal. I was using vicodin since November, starting at one and a half and going up to two and a half. Months ago I tried tapering down to one but then went up to two again. A month ago, I went through my third of three abdominal surgeries in the last year. After each surgery, I was given a few days worth of pain medicine but back in November I got the script from a neurologist for my back and I've had access to it ever since.
574511 tn?1217357146 Hi Britt, Maybe you could try a slow taper. It wouldn't be so traumatic to your body that way. Decrease your dosage by 1 pill every 6-7 days. When you get to 2 or 3 pills a day spread your dose out as far as possible. Tapering is difficult but makes the withdrawals more manageable. There is a lot of good info in the health pages as well.
Avatar n tn they still should be in your system if you are taking x3 per day for 3yrs? just found that! hope it helps? check back with the dr. but they are going to want to know were they are going to? sherri hope he helps you out maybe he can get everything straigh?
1658597 tn?1306262892 liver, etc) every day. Mentally, is one per day really negatively impacting your life? Not sure what the benefits would be to quitting on a cognitive level. You seem to have the will power not to increase your dosage. I guess we'd need to know why you're prescribed it in the first place. Good luck either way.
Avatar n tn I have been using suboxone to kick a vicodin addiction, I have been off the Vicodin for 5 days. While it has whiped out the w/d it has been giving me terrible head aches. I wake up every morning with a migraine and then the head ache lingers for the rest of the day. I take 1 to 2 8 mg pills per day. I was supposed to 3 but I didn't want to build up a strong dependence to the suboxone. I noticed that I having been grinding my teeth at night because I wake up and my jaw is sore.
Avatar m tn ve reached the end of day 2 of tapering plan that I posted yesterday. Today was officially my first day of only taking one dose of Vicodin, and I made it to the evening for my one dose. Since three days ago.. I've dropped from about 75 mg to 20 mg. Today was difficult, and last night was a great night of rest, but I'm honestly feeling really motivated by the community and support here. Thank you so much to everybody who has reached out and cheered me on.
