vicodin

Avatar n tn I weighed about 186 pounds at the time of the accident, but since taking the pain med my weight stays around 202 pounds. I am a reasonable healthy 49 year old female who watches what I eat, and I excercise regularly , with no other health issues. First question: Am I addicted to this drug? I do call it "Perky-Set", as I also get a euphoric feeling minutes after taking it. Question #2: Can Oxycodone use attributed to my weight gain, which, no matter what I do, I cannot get rid of?
Avatar n tn I posted earlier about some unusual experiences with sub but didn't give any details. My doc recommended me take either 4mg or 8 to start. I was in mild WDs, so I said I'll take 8 to make sure it would get me off those. He agreed, and said if i need more two hours later, take another. Anyway, to make a long story short, I ended up extremely sick the next day.
Avatar f tn Would it be ok to administer 4 advil and a half a vicodin to relieve the pain? He weighs 180. All other medicines, per his doctor, can be administered following the adult dosage on the bottles. (ie: tylenol, cold remedies, motrin, etc.) I appreciate your help, thanks!
Avatar m tn Everyone is different and it depends on a lot of factors such as age, general health, dosage, and length of use. Usually the acute physical detox is over in 3-7 days. Please stick around and keep posting. This is a fantastic place to get support, encouragement, and advice. Once you quit, let us know what symptoms you are having and we can recommend different remedies that might ease them a little. You can do this!! Good luck to you!
Avatar n tn I know I am now dependent on vicodin. I felt this way once before after knee surgery, but just tapered off. I also quit smoking cold turkey so I am fairly motivated to go the course. After a second knee surgury this year, I am having trouble getting off the 375 miligarms dose 3 x a day. Stopping for a day results in chills at feet and hands, no sleep, and increased emotional pressure to just pop one. That is especially true at night.
Avatar f tn Has anyone heard that the dosage is based on your weight? My numbers are perfect, according to the doctor, however, I am always tired, have reflux problems that the gastro doesn't understand why, I am constantly having hard stools, not gaining or losing weight, and getting very frustrated. I keep thinking I need my dosage raised but no one will listen to me. Am I thinking the right way or not? Help! Need your advise.
Avatar n tn t further adjusted by weight, but by lab vales and, most of all, symptoms. Or I should say, it should be adjusted by FT3, FT4 levals and symptoms.

783404 tn?1236257407 t needed, and that can be a problem for me, that is m does of Metoprolol is limited mostly by problems high dosage give me by lower my BP too much. As you confess, loss of weight will help all around. It is hard, like quitting smoking, but both are rewarded by giving better health, and you feel it too.
Avatar f tn One or two Vicodin a day is a pretty low dosage so if you'd like to quit, physical withdrawal shouldn't be too painful. You can either stop cold turkey and feel under the weather and sluggish for a bit, or you can taper down by reducing the amount you take on a schedule. Whatever you decide, if you don't know why you're taking them anymore and feel they may be negatively affecting you, I think it would be a great move for you to stop taking them at all.
Avatar m tn I am concerned about the weight gain everyone talks about.
232328 tn?1207090071 oh, one thing i forgot to mention, as far as the dosage is concerned...I was told by my primary care physician that they always start out with the lowest dosage then gradually increase it to get the desired affect. I hope this makes since, i'm having the same problem, i was prescribed Trazodone, and i'm kind of scared to take it - it's a 50mg tablet, and its the lowest dose but i'm afraid its gonna make me worse you know?
1634158 tn?1310388133 ive been taking vicodin for 9 months, and i take 20 a day, i need to WD, should i taper because i take so many or CT? i just want my life back and dont want to be a slave to these vicodin anymore, plz can someone tell me how should i start my tapering off??
Avatar f tn m wondering if anyone has any insight or opinion as to whether taking a low dosage of Vicodin over a long period of time could cause Tinnitus to worsen or if Tinnitus is caused more so by a large intake of Vicodin at once? I have never taken more than one 500mg pill in any one day during that time. Also, is Vicodin induced Tinnitus something that can be reversed if the person stops taking this medication? Would greatly appreciate any feedback. Have a great new year's everyone.
1374564 tn?1295059520 On Tuesday I had the worst migraine I have had in a very long time and I could not get in to see my doctor so I caved and went to my sister for some Vicodin. She gave me two 10/325's of which I took one immediately. While it did alleviate the pain almost immediately, it made me feel queasy, floaty and completely out of control. I hated the sensation! I had constant dry mouth and often was startled awake by my own gagging.
Avatar f tn I am not sure where to start. I have been taking vicodin for almost two years now. I take 6-10 a day and I want to stop. I have stopped in the past but always start back up. I have never got help before. I am scared to ask my doctor, because I work full-time and have kids. Can your family doc. report you to your job or anything like that? Can they prescribe you something to help ween off. What should I do? Please help.
1689696 tn?1305819097 I am currently taking 6/ 5-500 vicodin 2/ 150mg lyrica and a 5% lidocaine 12 hr patch a day.I want to stop taking the vicodin but I have severe sleep and restless leg problems when doing this!? I have 20 left will the patch and lyrica help with these problems and if so how should I do this? I am under a docs care and have an apt to see a pain management doc. Avatar f tn My thyroid has been up and down during this time. I am currently on a dosage of Synthroid of 200 mcg. My tsh has been changing. For example last May my tsh went to 24 with normal t3 and t4. My doctor put my Synthroid up to the 200 mcg from 175mcg. He wanted to check it in 3 months. I went back at the 3 month mark and my tsh was at 12 and normal t3 and t4. He told me I had to wait another 2 months to check the tsh again and that he didn't think I was absorbing the Synthroid.
Avatar m tn While an initial dosage be weight based, the ending dosage shouldn't be based on either. It should be based on FT3 and FT4 levels, as well as symptoms. You should not be worried about your TSH, you should be worried about your FT levels.
1511671 tn?1316564203 s system responds differently to pain medications. Work with your Doctor by to see what works with you but by no means "throw yourself in front of a bus." If the vicodin worked for your, I would say to try and stay with something in that class, I have heard from others that the patch works well but that may be a too huge a jump from two vicodin a day. You may want to get a second opinion becasue the amount of methadone your Doc has you on seems high to me-but I am no Doc.
Avatar m tn ve reached the end of day 2 of tapering plan that I posted yesterday. Today was officially my first day of only taking one dose of Vicodin, and I made it to the evening for my one dose. Since three days ago.. I've dropped from about 75 mg to 20 mg. Today was difficult, and last night was a great night of rest, but I'm honestly feeling really motivated by the community and support here. Thank you so much to everybody who has reached out and cheered me on.
Avatar m tn Somebody in my apartment has a habit of dropping pills on the carpet including opioid analgesics like Vicodin, muscle relaxants, anti-anxiety pills, etc. and I'm worried that my cats may eat them by accident and get sick or die. Although most of these pills probably don't taste that good, I think a cat may swallow a pill that has gotten stuck to his tongue by accident because he cannot spit it out. Please let me know if this is something I should worry about.
