Common Questions and Answers about Vicodin and wellbutrin

vicodin

Avatar f tn I reacty badly to many meds and stated one tab a day of the wellbutrin 9 days ago, the last 5 days the tremors in my hands and body have just increased and increased. Doc just told me the wellbutrin could very well be causing it- too bad i took my pill already this morning. I don't know how i'm going to face anyone today shaking like this!
Avatar f tn prescribed Wellbutrin to help me taper. I never went off them, but does anyone know if this heps with Vicodin withdrawal? I aso suffer from depression and Wellbutrin is supposed to help with that also. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn I think Bupropion is Wellbutrin, an anti-depressant. I'm not really sure about it having the same effect as vicodin, but it could help if you're feeling depressed. I took wellbutrin as a teenager along with zoloft, and it worked well for me back then. I don't know much else about it other than that and I don't know your situation, but I hope it works for you!
696149 tn?1314320959 m taking Lamictal and Wellbutrin and the first couple months I had quite a bit of euphoria but the last month or so I've been down.....real down. I've been battling a stupid allergy for about 2 1/2 months or so and that's depressing me too. The Vicodin cravings are hitting me hard the last month too. Part of me feels like....well if I'm gonna feel crappy, it would be nice to feel crappy with the Vicodin....at least I get an artificial high.
4757133 tn?1358797625 And occaisenly a m357 vicodin. Also a bunch of b vitamins and c vitamins. I also drink a lot. And really with what dental work I've had done this past week hardly ate anything in a week. Anyone have any commits on this? Just checking out other thoughts. Thanks.
Avatar f tn I would bet money that this is causing your depression and feelings of severe sadness. Google Vicodin and depression and the story will be told. These meds are great for pain and they make you feel good too but they also do something to your brain chemistry and as you will learn from your internet search they CAUSE DEPRESSION. I weened myself off them over 3 weeks and for the next month I had the same feelings you describe.
Avatar f tn I have taken the vicodin for 4 years on and off and have never taken over 2 pills a day. I also take wellbutrin for depression and xanax for an anxiety disorder. I am thinking about trying to get off of the Darvon and Vicodin altogether because I don't want it to hurt my kidneys and liver and I was just wondering what I can expect as far as withdrawal symptoms and how long they will last. Also is Darvon just as addicting as Vicodin?
Avatar n tn Hi, I recently posted on the pain management and addiction forums, but I thought maybe I could get some help here too. I am in the midst of weaning myself off of vicodin and I believe this is adding to my increased anxiety, but not necessarily the cause. I was diagnosed with OCD when I was 12 years old and started developing severe panic attacks in my early 20's. Up until last year I was taking 150mg of zoloft and occasional xanax.
Avatar f tn One or two Vicodin a day is a pretty low dosage so if you'd like to quit, physical withdrawal shouldn't be too painful. You can either stop cold turkey and feel under the weather and sluggish for a bit, or you can taper down by reducing the amount you take on a schedule. Whatever you decide, if you don't know why you're taking them anymore and feel they may be negatively affecting you, I think it would be a great move for you to stop taking them at all.
Avatar m tn I take Wellbutrin in the morning and Respidol in the evening. This is my question, Has anyone ever heard of Ultram make you severly depressed or just depressed. I swear it seems like since I have started taking it I don't have a day go by without being depressed. I am no longer taking it, (1 Day). I am going to see if I get better thoughts and moods.
Avatar m tn Raych - that "happy" feeling is what makes us addicts. The key will be finding that feeling without pills but that takes time and much soul searching. You've been numbing your opiod receptors with pills, when you stop those receptors are bare because your natural endorphins stopped coming when they were covered with the drug - it takes time for those natural endophins to come back but they do come.
Avatar n tn I have gained 60 pounds in the past 7 years, since being diagnosed with sleep apnea and restless legs syndrome. Since then, I am told that fibromyalgia is an offspring to the demyelinating polyneuropathy that was determined during a nerve conduction study for carpal tunnel syndrome in 1993. I am depressed, irritable, bruise easily, fall asleep during passive activities, have swollen feet (maybe just one foot) and can't arrive anywhere on time. Leaving the house is a chore.
Avatar f tn I had problems with insomnia so my psych added 100mg Zoloft and changed the Wellbutrin to 150mg XL once a day. I take the Wellbutrin in the morning and I take the Zoloft at night at night before I go to sleep. I wake up feeling really groggy and foggy headed. It takes me a good few hours to fully wake up. I'm good for a few hours and then by 12pm I just crash. By 9pm I'm wide awake! I have to work at 8:30 am so I need to sleep a full night to be able to work the next day.
337492 tn?1212458836 I found, per web searching, that some people get migraines from wellbutrin. Is that true? I am so hopeful because I used wellbutrin in my past and it was wonderful for me. I was at the denial stage of my illness and quit taking it, but now I understand I need my medication to live a normal life. I was also having terrible headaches then and I have them better under control due to my taking magnesium daily. Therefore I do not know if it was the wellbutrin aggrivating my headaches or not.
Avatar n tn I am currently taking 15 mg of valium a day and just started 100 mg Wellbutrin a day for severe anxiety. The only information I read is that Wellbutrin is for Depression, is this also a medication to help with anxiety?
Avatar f tn I would say you have legiitmate reasons to take the xanax, and wellbutrin, and ambien. but the Vicodin on top of this sounds like too much to me. The other 3 are legitimate for your diagnosis of depression, and yes people DO STAY on meds for the rest of their lives if they need to. I compare it to someone who needs insulin for diabetes, you need your meds for depression, it is a chemical imbalance in your brain.
Avatar f tn I have been taking prozac and wellbutrin. Some Drs. say its ok and some dont. I have been going on my second week with no wellbutrin and am staying nausea all the time. I felt like the Wellbutrin was causing me to gain weight.
Avatar m tn The risk that does exist would relate to the fact that alcohol withdrawal tends to lower the seizure threshold and Wellbutrin does the same. And believe it or not, you experience mild alcohol withdrawal during the night after you drink more than two drinks of alcohol (hence the disrupted sleep). So, the risk depends on how much more than two drinks you have....
Avatar m tn I have a comment and a question. I'm taking Sub too, but not for w/d's from other drugs, but for my bi-polar. I also take Wellbutrin too but the Sub seems to help more. I was addicted to Vicodin for about 15 years and I've been off of it for a while until last week. I have a little TMJ....it's a sort of jaw disorder and it can be very painful. It doesn't hurt me very often but when it does, it really hurts. Anyway I did get some Vicodin.
Avatar m tn oh meetings help right now..many relapse before this depression lifts..
Avatar f tn I was recently put on wellbutrin and xanax. I had been having severe anxiety attacks. In the past I've taken wellbutrin for depression but got off of it because I felt that was able to cope with my problems on my own without medication. It's been 3 years since I've last taken it and when I took it before I don't remember getting perscribed xanax. So, my questions is...
Avatar m tn I would switch gradually to Cymbalta and see what happens rather than being on both. As for the Wellbutrin added to the mix it could help with libido since dopamine is in play. Both Zoloft and Wellbutrin sounds like something you could try before getting on Cymblata. I don't think you shoud mix Cymbalta with Wellbutrin personally.
Avatar f tn I just read that if you are on anti-depressants, you need to modify the Thomas Recipe. I take wellbutrin, 150mg/day, and also Xanax, 1.5mg/day. I also take a beta blocker for mitral valve prolaspe, so my blood pressure is always low, usually 98/68. Thanks!
Avatar f tn Thanks. Called the pharmacist and find Wellbutrin is a SSRI so taking the 5-HTP would not have a benefit. He said one would cancel out the other. Hmm...guess it is time to start riding the bike!
1345272 tn?1276400328 I do think if you keep going with Wellbutrin and Cymbalta you will be doing just fine. Wellbutrin might be unpleasant when taking the first doses, just like any other antidepressant but the side-effects will eventually go away as your body adapts to the medicines. If after 1 month taking both drugs you don't see any improvements then you might consider trying something else but seriously Cymbalta+Wellbutrin is really supposed to give you energy and make you function more normally.
895308 tn?1304340982 I have been on 200 mg of Wellbutrin, and 20 mg of Prozac for many years. I have never known the connection between dopamine and a decreased TSH reading until today. This would make total sense to me, though. I have symptoms of hypothyroidism, and my T3 and T4 indicate such, however, the TSH levels indicate that I have too much thyroid production.
