I think it is too early to remove the cast in your case. May be you can ask your doctor about plastic cast walker, which is much lighter and allows you to walk to some extent. Once full fracture healing is confirmed by the doctor, rehabilitation can continue with a physiotherapist. Hydrotherapy exercises are very helpful in regaining ankle range of movement. Best.

i got out of 30-day treatment for opiates, then fractured my wrist the next day and back on percocets. i am getting my cast off tomorrow and am out of pills except for a couple. i have klonopin. clonidine, lyrica and neurontin. am very scared- can't believe this happened. should i take one-half percocet along with other drugs to help withdrawal? i am mostly scared of extreme depression i get with withdrawal.

I do not get to see the ortho for my pelvis for another week - but he said no physio or rehab for that or my hamstring until I see him. My question is, is this normal? Just like addict63 said, it'd more of a mental state than a timed response. Some addicts escalate much quicker into full blown addiction than others. I've seen people in my rehab taking doses in 3 weeks it took me 3 years to obtain. If your friend has the brain chemistry that predisposes them to addiction then the seed is cast from the first pill. If you're referring to dependency more than addiction, then most people feels withdrawals after only a couple weeks of use.

12 years ago my anke was fused, and over the years I began having severe pain and was determined to need a subtalar fusion. I am now 13 weeks post surgery and just had my cast removed.
