vesicare not working

No urgency (meaning I could hold it if I had too) but just frequent trips to the bathroom. No real pain or anything. I have an underlying anxiety disorder that is not controlled and I did start to panic about these symptoms which in turn probably made them worse. So after about 5 days I went to the Uro, no UTI, Urinalysis' was clear so they put me on Vesicare for overactive bladder on 10/12.

4)mg but the urge to urinate was there all the time so my doctor added (Vesicare 5mg). It was good for few weeks but then the urge got stronger and I was again given Bactrim DS for 4 weeks and now even with Bactrim DC I am not feeling any better. Few days back the doctor increased the dose of Floamx to 0.8 mg and stopped the Vesicare. It did not help and the urge to urinate is there all the time and there is tightness in the bladder. I also took Celebrex for few days and it helped a little bit.

I've honestly never been clear on how the drugs for overactive bladder help people with urine retention. I have noticed though that several forum members with retention take them and figure there must be a good reason why they are prescribed. Can you clarify Lulu? If it's not too personal.... do you have an additional problem with distention incontinence or urge incontinence that this type of drug helps control? Inquiring minds (or at least this one little mind) want to know.

, Oh well I will just ask ask as I like the idea of something that others have used and know works, especially without the stomach cramps, I felt like I had gastro on the ducolax, I guess my problem is prob got nothing to do with my fibre intake, just the muscles not working? Actually I was meant to be working today but the cramps were so bad with the Dulcolax I have stayed home.

does anyone get headaches from taking vesicare?? They seen to go away with advil. Anyone had these symptons, did they lessen with longer use of vesicare??

I was put on Vesicare 5 mg daily and also was taking fluoxetine for depression and anxiety over this condition. After taking the meds for awhile my symptoms went away and I was symptom free for 3 years. Because of the expense of the vesicare and because I was doing so well. I decided to stop taking both medications. My bladder was fine and normal and then about a year later the symtoms came back. So I am now back on the vesicare and the fluoxetine.

But I have a combined therapy plan of drugs plus the intermittent self-catherization (3-4 times daily) to control a variety of problems. If just the vesicare alone is not doing all the work, you may want to discuss further options that can help. Remember there are a number of different incontinence drugs available and you may have to try more than one before you get the right one for you.

I'm using Vesicare and Lyrica and I just got my urinalysis result and they're normal. Can Vesicare and Lyrica affect urinalysis? Are they antibiotics?

Started me on Levaquin 500mg PO QD x 7 days and Vesicare 10mg PO QD.The cyst went down but the pain around the epdidymis persisted w/ no change. After 4 weeks of Vesicare I still have no change in my nocturia. I had an ultrasound of my bladder, testicles, kidneys all normal. I then had a cystoscopy done which showed no abnormalities besides a tight sphincter. My urologist told me to continue the Vesicare which I have been doing.

can you rectify this? Also, it is not an encouragement to go on the undiagnosed community when one keeps getting huge pop ups there... is this only temporary? Thanks for listening.

I have been on Ditropan, then Ditropan XR (or EX, don't remember which is correct) and after about 10 years that didn't work, so my doctor put me on Enablex and that works pretty well. Then I got a new Dr. and he wanted to switch me to Vesicare. That didn't work well, either, and I began having episodes of incontinence and urgency again. It's almost open enrollment for Medicare Part D, and the plan that is the most affordable otherwise doesn't cover Enablex at all anymore.

i had a cmg test done today and the nusre told me it was the worst case of bladder spasm that she has ever seen and brought in other medical staff to see this they have put me on vesicare tablets 10 mg and i am wondering if there is anything else can be done i am worried in case it means i need to be catherterised because of this how likely is this ?

I am away from my home in Tampa, not planning on returning for another 2 weeks. Should I start the Vesicare tonight or will it muddy the waters, so to speak. I will see a urologist or a uro gynecologist upon my return. I plan to make the appointment prior to arrival home. Thanks.

I was told to give it atleast one week but two is better to see improvement so I want to stick it out but I keep thinking can Vesicare make your frequency worse before better? I am not sure what's going and since it's the weekend kind of hard to call and ask!

I have having OAB for years now, i am on vesicare medication but it is not really helping. Over the years i also been having ED here and there but recently it is getting worse...esp when i stop taking meds. Been seeing different urologist but they cant seem to find anything wrong with me. I am 34years.

She suggested that it is a medication that works in the urethra and would not have the same side effects of vesicare and that I would know if it was working in one week. She did not appear however to be able to give an indication as to whether this medication would require to be used in the long term or whether it could lead to a resolution of the difficulties.

I am a 23 year old female who has the constant urge to urinate on and off for two months now. Various doctors have checked for a UTI and there is none. I have been on macrobid, vesicare and now I'm on flavoxate. Each of these medicines have worked for about a week and then I get the constant urge to urinate again. I just started the flavoxate and I have not gotten any relief. I'm not in any pain, but the constant urge to urinate seems painful and is affected my daily life greatly.
