Common Questions and Answers about Vesicare incontinence

vesicare

1056851 tn?1318720978 GP has put me on Vesicare 5mg. It is to help my incontinence. Anyone else taking this? How is it?
Avatar m tn I was put on Vesicare 5 mg daily and also was taking fluoxetine for depression and anxiety over this condition. After taking the meds for awhile my symptoms went away and I was symptom free for 3 years. Because of the expense of the vesicare and because I was doing so well. I decided to stop taking both medications. My bladder was fine and normal and then about a year later the symtoms came back. So I am now back on the vesicare and the fluoxetine.
1188179 tn?1350116119 I have been on Ditropan, then Ditropan XR (or EX, don't remember which is correct) and after about 10 years that didn't work, so my doctor put me on Enablex and that works pretty well. Then I got a new Dr. and he wanted to switch me to Vesicare. That didn't work well, either, and I began having episodes of incontinence and urgency again. It's almost open enrollment for Medicare Part D, and the plan that is the most affordable otherwise doesn't cover Enablex at all anymore.
Avatar f tn I was on 10mg of Vesicare, and asked a similar question on this forum yesterday about Vesicare. Cheers, Udkas.
Avatar m tn said I had a stenosis and atrophy of the urethra. Gave me a script for Vesicare but told me to wait a few days to see how procedure goes. also mentioned estrogen Creme. I am miserable....what should I do?
Avatar f tn He does not relish the idea of an artificial sphincter, but that is the only option his urologist has offered. My husband has, primarily, stress incontinence. He urinates many times a day and usually a couple of times during the night. He seldom--if ever--has the problem of feeling an urgent need to get to the bathroom. His urologist prescribed VESIcare, but it did not seem to help. He is having a great deal of irritation, redness, and sometimes a rash on the scrotum from leakage.
Avatar f tn My ob/gyn thought it was UTI but urine lab tests showed no infection. She told me to see a urologist. He put me on Vesicare. but i do not have "urgent" intermittant feelings of voiding. I have ALL THE TIME 24/7 pressure and pain to urinate. I DO NOT have leakage. Please help. thank you and God bless you.
Avatar f tn Hi, so were you using it for painful spasms or urinary urgency and incontinence. I hope you don't mind me asking. It is very very expensive here, because it's not approved on our drug lists it cost me $65 for a packet but I would pay $1000 for something to help me at the moment (if I had the money)... I just want to fix the burning feeling I have and the spasms.. oh and the incontinence would be a bonus too but that is not my major issue, well not this week anyway.
Avatar m tn I have been diagnosed with an over-active bladder which causes incontinence and pain after urination.A urologist has prescribed medication containing Tolterodine tartrate.Should I be taking this if I am already on medication for Atrial Fibrillation? Thanks.
Avatar f tn I have one brain and one spinal cord lesion and fairly symptom free currently aside from the constant twitching throughout my body and the CONSTANT urge to pee!!! I have had no incontinence but the urge is always there when there is a flare up. I will ususally go about 2-3 weeks being fine and then comes a flare up that causes the problems:( My neuro pretty much dismissed it as a non-issue.
Avatar f tn Sounds like typical stress incontinence. Yes, I have it too, but not as bad as you. I have taken a medication in the past called Detrol and it worked great. I have this problem on and off, so I take no medication now. I would recommend you consult a Urologist. Kegel exercises are good, but I think your situation is beyond kegels.
Avatar f tn I had surgery to address incontinence. A monarch sling was installed. Within 10 days I urinated without warning or control twice. My surgeon said I still had a lot of fluid in my bladder after I thought I had voided completely so he did an adjustment in the office. I have since urinated 3 times with no warning or control. My surgeon says the sling is too tight and wants to go in and cut the sling. He tells me I am in the 1% of women for whom the sling fails.
Avatar f tn I'm 21 and I've recently started having an over active bladder (well that's what I think it is) so basically I have to pee all of the time, I began thinking a lot of it was mental, as I have to go 3 times before I can go to bed, even the slightest trickle, unless I cannot stop thinking about it. I have been put on medication for overactive bladder- vesicare, but it's not helping at all.
Avatar m tn I'm using Vesicare and Lyrica and I just got my urinalysis result and they're normal. Can Vesicare and Lyrica affect urinalysis? Are they antibiotics?
Avatar n tn does anyone get headaches from taking vesicare?? They seen to go away with advil. Anyone had these symptons, did they lessen with longer use of vesicare??
Avatar n tn Ok here goes: I'm 28/female, pretty healthy ... on 10/6, about 1 week before I was to leave for Vegas I was extremely nervous about flying. Out of the blue I started having frequent urination problems. No urgency (meaning I could hold it if I had too) but just frequent trips to the bathroom. No real pain or anything. I have an underlying anxiety disorder that is not controlled and I did start to panic about these symptoms which in turn probably made them worse.
Avatar m tn ve had no improvement in my incontinence. What concerns me is I have no bladder sensation at all, no sign of fullness, sense of urgency, etc. When I rise from bed or a chair, I feel urine flood into my urethra. Also there is constant leakage requiring numerous daily changes. My worry is that the operation damaged my bladder nerves and I may be looking at permanent incontinence. Has anyone experienced a similar incontinence or bladder issue and did it improve over time? Thanks.
Avatar f tn Hi Guys, I just wondered if anyone on this forum takes tablets for bladder urgency or incontinence? And if you do, what do you take? How does it make you feel and is it effective? Or do you have any other solutions?
Avatar m tn 4)mg but the urge to urinate was there all the time so my doctor added (Vesicare 5mg). It was good for few weeks but then the urge got stronger and I was again given Bactrim DS for 4 weeks and now even with Bactrim DC I am not feeling any better. Few days back the doctor increased the dose of Floamx to 0.8 mg and stopped the Vesicare. It did not help and the urge to urinate is there all the time and there is tightness in the bladder. I also took Celebrex for few days and it helped a little bit.
147426 tn?1317265632 m pretty nauseated. The Vesicare is having a modicum of effect as I have successfully made it to the BR several times since Saturday, when I started it. I saw my MS Neuro yesterday. He didn't like what he heard or found. He thinks I have a spastic bladder (Ya think?!) and it is waaayyy out of control. He is urging the urologist to max me out on the meds.
Avatar f tn So I been kind of depressed, and 5 neuros later I think Im giving up trying to find a dx. The PTC doesnt explain all my other sx. Anyway, I had started on the Vesicare 10mg, for my overactive bladder. Well it appeared to be working, so when I saw my urologist, I told him for the most part it is working. Before I started the Diamox, my bladder kinda went back to the old dysfunctional way.
Avatar m tn which meant I had to return to my urologist....He gave me elmiron and vesicare to treat the IC....the Elmiron never helped my pain and, the Vesicare took my blood pressure from 113/72 pulse 68 to 153/103 pulse 122...I contacted my urologist and, he stated...that's not true ... neither of these meds would cause your blood pressure to go up...well, I called him back four days later...
Avatar f tn can someone please tell that which medicine works best for OAB ........VESICARE,ENABLEX OR DETROL LA..........I m male and 29 yrs old ,can i also take detrol la.....Any response should be highly appreciated..........
Avatar m tn Started me on Levaquin 500mg PO QD x 7 days and Vesicare 10mg PO QD.The cyst went down but the pain around the epdidymis persisted w/ no change. After 4 weeks of Vesicare I still have no change in my nocturia. I had an ultrasound of my bladder, testicles, kidneys all normal. I then had a cystoscopy done which showed no abnormalities besides a tight sphincter. My urologist told me to continue the Vesicare which I have been doing.
