Vesicare for stress incontinence

Common Questions and Answers about Vesicare for stress incontinence

vesicare

721523 tn?1331581802 I've honestly never been clear on how the drugs for overactive bladder help people with urine retention. I have noticed though that several forum members with retention take them and figure there must be a good reason why they are prescribed. Can you clarify Lulu? If it's not too personal.... do you have an additional problem with distention incontinence or urge incontinence that this type of drug helps control? Inquiring minds (or at least this one little mind) want to know.
1056851 tn?1318720978 GP has put me on Vesicare 5mg. It is to help my incontinence. Anyone else taking this? How is it?
Avatar m tn I have very similar symptoms, and was curious about asking my doctor for vesicare. I apologize since you're looking for an answer and all I have is questions, but I'm hoping you can help me decide if this medication can help me. I'm a 23 years old male, and have had pretty severe OAB symptoms since I can remember. So bad I have publicly wet my self for not being able to get to a bathroom fast enough.
Avatar m tn said I had a stenosis and atrophy of the urethra. Gave me a script for Vesicare but told me to wait a few days to see how procedure goes. also mentioned estrogen Creme. I am miserable....what should I do?
Avatar f tn Sounds like typical stress incontinence. Yes, I have it too, but not as bad as you. I have taken a medication in the past called Detrol and it worked great. I have this problem on and off, so I take no medication now. I would recommend you consult a Urologist. Kegel exercises are good, but I think your situation is beyond kegels.
Avatar f tn Hi, so were you using it for painful spasms or urinary urgency and incontinence. I hope you don't mind me asking. It is very very expensive here, because it's not approved on our drug lists it cost me $65 for a packet but I would pay $1000 for something to help me at the moment (if I had the money)... I just want to fix the burning feeling I have and the spasms.. oh and the incontinence would be a bonus too but that is not my major issue, well not this week anyway.
Avatar f tn My 15yr old daughter has stress incontinence, she has had umpteen tests & tablets. It started when she 1st went to school but has got worse over the years, 2 years ago she took an overdose thankfully she told someone so was ok, we are still seeing the hospital doctor who is trying to find help from specialists but this is taking forever.
Avatar f tn My ob/gyn thought it was UTI but urine lab tests showed no infection. She told me to see a urologist. He put me on Vesicare. but i do not have "urgent" intermittant feelings of voiding. I have ALL THE TIME 24/7 pressure and pain to urinate. I DO NOT have leakage. Please help. thank you and God bless you.
233622 tn?1279334905 For the second time I woke up and found I had lost bladder control. This time it was a flood. how common is this? If that spinal tap comes back clean I won't know what to think. Since I have been off of the Betaseron I have had some symptoms reappear. I know DMD's are not supposed to take care of symptoms but the Beta helped me. I am so frustrated! I am going to Wal Mart to buy a water proof pad for my bed. Is there anything else that can cause this? A pinched nerve?
Avatar f tn Start doing Ur Kegels. Excersising Ur vag. Stress or no stress incontinence will continue & will get worse if u do not do Ur Kegels.
Avatar m tn His symptoms are not as severe but they have not improved at all either. I called his Dr. and we are going back in for training. He has been great for helping us know what to do with each problem. One thing his training told us was not to drink caffiene and not to eat acidic food like tomatoes) the day he started that he saw improvement right away.Demand more info!!
Avatar m tn This makes me nervous. What medication are you currently taking for the bladder problem? Is it working for you, and does it cause a problem with the heart? I would like to hear from you since I'm right in the middle of trying to find the right med.
1373769 tn?1278603610 Last year when I was having your problem only with more severe leaking, I went through Incontinence Physical Therapy - ordered by my Uro-Gyencologist. It helped me IMMENSELY and kept me leak free for about six months. However, my incontinence got worse and now I am incontinent all the time. I am on 10mg of oxybutinin twice a day. But I still leak about a cup or so everytime and have to wear an incontinence pad 24/7.
147426 tn?1317265632 Yours is exactly the kind of problem that PT is more designed for, Stress Incontinence. I can't remember whether you have gone through that or not. Are you going to attend the online chat on Incontinence and Staying out of a Nursing Home? The thrust of that talk will not be toward those of use with a strong neurologic damage, but toward the run-of-the-mill person with Incontinence, tho I am going to try to submit a question about us/me/floods/Botox.
Avatar n tn Incontinence in children and adolescents of the age 11 to 17 years comprise about 23% of the pediatric population who comes in for consult with incontinence as the chief complaint. Urinary incontinence in general may be due to an organic or functional cause.
Avatar m tn t thrilled w/ the doctor in general but she said it was just anxiety and stress. I decided for a 2nd opinion at a urologist and she agreed stress was the biggest culprit but thinks I could also have an OAB. Mind you I had a clean UTI at all the doctors, a good exam at my gyn but she sent me for ultrasound which was normal, and I had blood work done for all things including diabetes. Although my glucose came in at 101 and under 99 is the norm it wasn't cause for concern.
Avatar m tn What are the nonsurgical treatment options for stress urinary incontinence? Just found some adult diapers but not sure which one will be good.
Avatar m tn I think i have UTI and stress incontinence. I have seen a doctor and was prescribed citralka syrup (2-3 times daily) and some tablets (2-3 times daily) for 10 days. Would this be enough to cure these problems?
Avatar n tn My view is that I have always had a psychological stress which I have held for years in my bladder. It is related to childhood trauma. The stress is putting my destrusor muscle into spasm and it doesn't empty properly. Since I have strong urine flow I don't believe that the bladder not emptying is due to the prostrate restriction of the urethra. Does this make any sense to you and what do you recommend I do from here?
Avatar f tn Neither a stent nor a ureteroscopy should cause stress incontinence. It has been at least six months so I would suggest seeing a urologist or gynecologist for further evaluation and consideration of a sling, which is a surgical procedure to correct stress incontinence.
Avatar f tn I had a Monarch Bladder Lift in 2003- 2004..can't remember anymore. My sling broke in 2006, had to be removed and put back in. With a different sling. I now experience 2 types of incontinence. See water- pee! We won't even go into sneezes or coughs. I wear pads 24 hours a day. I can't be without them. I took Vesicare for a few months, then my Medical wouldn't cover it anymore. At $400.00 a prescription, I guess I don't blame them, but it worked terrifically!
5509293 tn?1428531475 If the muscles that keep your bladder closed are weak, you may have accidents when you sneeze, laugh or lift a heavy object. This is stress incontinence. If bladder muscles become too active, you may feel a strong urge to go to the bathroom when you have little urine in your bladder. This is urge incontinence or overactive bladder. There are other causes of incontinence, such as nerve damage and for this your neurologist may getting brain MRI’s done.
Avatar n tn Hi! To answer your question--yes, yes, and yes! It's also very weird when you only have half of the area down there with feeling and half without. Yes, it can and does happen in MS according to my neuro. He had another patient with the same symptom (numbness). As far as the stress incontinence goes . . . I have had babies before (and one was almost 9 pounds), so in the past I contributed the incontinance to stress incontinence because that is what my GYN said it was.
