Avatar n tn I have alports syndrome(kidney disease) so while there I had blood work done to check on my kidney functions. My AST levels were verrrrryyyyy high....631. ALT was 483. Also glucose was higher than usual and Neutrophils were pretty high while Lymphocytes were very low. I'm only 21 and very concerned. Could any of this have anything to do with my kidneys? Can all this be just because I was very sick?

576054 tn?1217783138 My doctor will be doing tests in a few weeks, but I have had some fairly high glucose levels lately. I also have a history of high blood pressure although that has been better most of the time lately. Tonight all of a sudden I started having a terrible headache and nausea. My glucose level was somewhat high. So either this was due to the glucose levels or due to high blood pressure. Whatever it is, I am so tired of being sick and tired all of the time.

Avatar m tn The body recognizes intense exercise as a stress and releases stress hormones that tells your body to increase available blood glucose to fuel your muscles. If your glucose levels exceed normal levels discuss with your doctor medication or medication adjustment.

Avatar n tn Perhaps his doctor could set up something like this to wake him up to the realities of damage because of high glucose levels. Many of us live in denial for a period of time, and it sometimes takes something like that to make us realize that we need to get control over this area of life. I like the previous commenter's idea of suggesting walks together. That is a great place to start.

Answer:It's very simply, a 5th grader can conclude the same thing as I did. Why? Because a non diabetic reading is almost always less then 120, even 1 hr. after meal.
Avatar m tn It is from the cortisol side, I believe, not the cholesterol side. Usually when one has high cortisol, the lipids are not controlled very well and cholesterol goes up (as well there are usually glucose issues) - so perhaps the reverse is true. I know my good cholesterol is always now too low and I cannot get it up.
Avatar f tn Hello~I am not a doctor or lab technician, so I really can not give you a clear answer on this. However, I am wondering if this test was "fasting" or "non-fasting" If fasting, the glucose looks a wee bit high to me, not much, but higher than most doctors like it to be if you are fasting, the desired levels are under 100.
