This can cause bloating of stomach and consequent breathlessness. Check with your doctor for adequate control of asthma. Ventolin or salbutamol is a rescue inhaler, that means you take this when you have an episode of Asthma. There are reliever inhalers which work for up to 12 hours after taking each dose. The only new med that I have been taking in the past 2 weeks is Ventolin HFA (Albuterol Sulfate Inhalation Aerosol) for my coughing after coming down with flue. I have also been eating lots of broccoli sprouts and home made fresh ginger tea mixed with little honey.

I been smoking for 11 years now. The er at the time prescribed me ventolin hfa. I went to my regular dr a week later and they ordered me a pulmonary function test. I got the results and it says that there is nothing wrong with my lungs. But i still continue to get the cough off and on every 3-4 months. Every time i use my inhaler, my chest gets aggravated and congested and it makes me cough more...as of 2013, im 28 weeks pregnant and im still smokin cigarettes.

I did have to fight to get my doctor to believe me and switch my inhaler but proved it once I was off for a few months - improved and then did spirometry before and after taking symbicort ...

You can please name those tests which can be asked to attending doctor to order, in PFT test it shows- FEF25-75 NOW IS SIGNIFICANTLY DECREASED SUGGESTING INCREASED SMALLER -AIRWAY AIRFLOW OBSTRUCTION, Attending doctor started VENTOLIN HFA , getting weakness,trembling with this only usage of three times, please guide-
If you are continuing to have breathlessness, then you may need additional inhalers like ventolin, which contains salbutamol, which is short acting and helps relieve bronchospasm. It would be best to consult your doctor regarding persisting symptoms, he may prescribe additional inhalers or he may change the dose of the steroid inhaler.

Watch inactive ingredients present - all of the dickus medications (advair, ventolin etc) have lactose as a carrier for the medication. You might be reacting to that and not the medication, switching to the HFA inhaler version would help that (or vice versa).
If is VERY unlikely you are allergic to every single medication for asthma because there is a lot of differing types and specific meds.
These include caffeine, pseudoephedrine (Sudafed), amphetamines, and the asthma bronchodilators albuterol/salbutamol (e.g. Proventil, Combivent, Ventolin).” In your case probably caffeine is the culprit alonf with stress.

I did that and the results came back fine, and there was nothing wrong with my lungs. The er gave me albuterol ventolin hfa. Whenever i use it, the medicine makes my chest more worse. I dnt know why, but as of now im 28 weeks pregnant, and as of right now since mothers day, i been having this whistling in my chest and i have been coughing since last week sunday, with a rumbling sound in my chest wen i inhale and exhale. I havent used my inhaler or nothing else.
I am thinking of trying salbutamol and wondering whether anyone has any information, experiences or thoughts to share. Anything would be greatly appreciated. It is a horrible time
I should add that I have been mildy anemic and am recovering. This has certainly exacerbated my breathing difficulties -- i.e. I have struggled to breath far more while anemic. However, I have good days and bad days and going by weather patterns, I'm fairly sure these are related to pollen allergy.

Last night I ate no food after 5pm that I could react to and around 9 pm I used the blue puffer (Ventolin Salbutamol Sulpate Inhalation Aerosol) and and what was left of my red puffer (Fovent flutisacone propionate - corticosteroid) - AND I immediately broke out in hives and itching everywhere including on my tongue and I had trouble swollowing. I took an anti-histamine and the hives lasted about 90 minutes.
I did have a chest x-ray which was clear except my doctor said that my small airways looked pronounced which could indicate airway inflammation. I had allergy testing and had a mild reaction to ragweed. I was prescribed Ventolin HFA and Asmanex. I took these medications and had a lot of side effects from both medications. The side effects felt worse than the actual symptoms.
I'm 40 years old. I have had asthma since childhood - mild (occasional salbutamol) until about 10 years ago, then a little worse. Preventer inhaler as well as occasional ventolin - very rarely had symptoms. I smoked socially from age 20 (3-4 cigarettes each day - not underestimating!) until about 9 months ago - no further smoking.
My breathing has become a little more difficult, is so for most of the time, and is worst in the morning.
Can't say that I get that symptom but everyone is different. What inhaler is it? Ventolin or a steroid one?
Ventolin normally increases heart rate and makes you shaky. I don't know of any inhalers that make you drowsy?
When Albuterol was taken off the market she prescribed Ventolin HFA inhaler. I used to go into my PCP for a breathing inhaling solution to help me breathe if I whenever I contracted bronchitis, and she also placed me on steroid, cough syrup and antibiotics for the bronchitis which at times left me very breathless.
Last March 2014 I developed bronchitis and went in to see my PCP, and she gave me a breathing test, and said my asthma developed into COPD.
