I have also started with severe tiredness and confusion since I have been prescribed with with 150 mg of venlafaxine. I am struggling to cope with household and work functions and feel my brain is not able to concentrate I also feel detached. I have been dizzy and had severe bod tremors. Feel zombie like. Could the medication be causing this or making my existing condition worse.

I have bipolar 2 disorder. I have done fine on Lamictal at 200mg for years. after a while we had to add Klonpin for anxiety and up it. I am now on 3 mg. I went through a long depression and decided to take Cymbalta, After about 2 months I had no sexual fuction (female), headaches, constipation, excessive sweating. I weaned off. Felt great for a few weeks now I am depressed again. I get triggers. What can I take for depression with low side effects? Like no weight gain and sexual disfuction.

for the first time since i come off Effexor i feel great... i feel no withdrawal symptoms. this is my 10th day without venlafaxine. i'm full of energy. and i feel great cause i'm beginning to win this battle. my dizziness is gone. that first days anxiety has normalized, I really believe now that it's possible to survive effexor withdrawal. usually depression has an environmental cause. try do find yourse and fight it. the human mind is very powerfull.

I have been on 75 mg of Venlafaxine for about 2 years. I cut the dosage in half for about 2 weeks and them stopped altogether. Unfortunately I didn't do much research before discontinuing so I didn't really know what to expect. My doc and I also believe that I might have a mild form of add, although no official diagnois yet. Is there a medication that could help with both of these conditions. My main problem is lack of modivation and restlessness.

Hi everyone. My doctor just put me on Venlafaxine chl er for depression and pain, I am switching from celexa 40mg and have taken half of each each night for the past three nights. I feel horrible, I feel like a zombie, barely able to get out of bed, dizzy, blurry vision, spacing out, nausea, and all I want to do is sleep. Is this normal when switching drugs, I dont even know if I want to continue if im going to feel like this.

She tells me that the lowest dose of XL is 75mg. She has put me on 37.5mg daily Venlafaxine. I tried this as 150mg dose, and it was not the same at all as Effexor. Is there any alternative. I know Venlafaxine, is supposed to be the same as Effexor, but I don't think it is - at least my body said it was different!! I am now wondering what the next step is for me. What is the difference between Effexor XL and Venlafaxine. How do I reduce from 37.5mg Venlafaxine?

So I'm currently taking 75mg venlafaxine and 15mg mirtazapine the mirtazapine is great doing its job for the night time anxiety it's more than enough to calm me and help me sleep the night but my concern is the venlafaxine it's causing me stomach upset and feelings of low mood iv been taking this combo since beginning of December whilst some what it has levelled me out to the state I was currently in I don't feel as tho the venlafaxine is helping anymore as Iv been on it before a

This is the first time I have posted a comment/question on here but I often come here to read posts. I was recently put on 150mg of Venlafaxine once daily in combination with 1mg Lorazepam as needed. I am responding quickly to the Venlafaxine ER and have only had a few bumps throughout the day that required half of the 1mg Lorazepam. My problem is sleeping? I'm so worried about the addictive qualities of Lorazepam that I am hesitant to take it to help me sleep.

Trust me, all the name brand antidepressant meds are just as expensive. The active ingredient in Effexor is Venlafaxine, which is avalible in a Generic, but it is not in the XR form. The XR is short for "extended release." Only the Effexor has this time release form of Venlafaxine delivery. I have found this time release form to be much more effective than the generic Venlafaxine which has no such delivery system.
