Avatar f tn So I'm currently taking 75mg venlafaxine and 15mg mirtazapine the mirtazapine is great doing its job for the night time anxiety it's more than enough to calm me and help me sleep the night but my concern is the venlafaxine it's causing me stomach upset and feelings of low mood iv been taking this combo since beginning of December whilst some what it has levelled me out to the state I was currently in I don't feel as tho the venlafaxine is helping anymore as Iv been on it before a
Avatar n tn I have been on venlafaxine for 4 years and after my recent visit to the doctor she advised me to cut down for three weeks on the venlafaxine and then start on mirtazapine 15mg. In my infinite wisdom I thought I would cut down the venlafaxine in my own way and not bother with the mirtazapine. I thought what is the point of cutting out one med to go on another as I'm keen to be med free. This is now third day without any medication I feel ill.
Avatar m tn Also your UK max doses are not actually the max doses and I would have been inclined to push the doses higher rather than add escitalopram because both venlafaxine and mirtazapine have more potency and more noradrenergic effects at higher doses than you are taking. I have used venlafaxine to 600 mg and mirtazapine to 90 mg and have seen additional benefits in refractory depression when I push the doses. Also I think you should be seeing a therapist with training in treating chronic depression..
Avatar f tn I'm currently on Mirtazapine 30mg. A physician assistant said it is okay to take tylenol and vicadin.
Avatar f tn Hello there, I was prescribed sertraline 3 weeks ago today due to venlafaxine not working as it should, iv been on mirtazapine 15mg since December 10th to help with sleep issues, so anyways I stopped 75mg after 4months due to it not working for me and went straight on to sertraline 100mg morning and 15mg mirtazipine at night I felt balanced and levelled out pretty much straight away but today have woke up tired with flu like symptoms is this normal 3 weeks in do I need to stick it out longer fo
Avatar m tn I'm just asking this question as an addition to the previous question as i'm quite curious as to others past experiences as i'm up to max dose with the generic form, along with mirtazapine 45mg, but I still quite flat in mood, with little spontaniety and miss my normal self 'Zip' as otherwise I feel that it largely is working to a certain extent, but i'm still wanting more.
Avatar m tn ve been on venlaxaine now for approaching a year, up to max UK levels 375mg both with mirtazapine (useless) and now with escitaopram 20mg now for the last2 months, but still depressed, emotionally flat, mentally sluggish, irritable and generally socially awkward. I'm wondering about Extended release Effexor / venlafaxine as to whether this could have an additional benefit.

Avatar f tn The next day I took magnesium glycinate 100 mg hoping to get some relief from how bad I was feeling. So at this point I was on 30mg mirtazapine, 37.5mg venlafaxine and had just gotten off of wellbutrin a day or two prior to taking the magnesium glycinate. I'd also been taking fish oil on and off for months. Shortly after taking magnesium glycinate, I noticed my breathing slowed a bit but wasn't too bad.
Avatar f tn t feel like the normal me, my questions are is this dose to high for me or is this med not working an I need to go back there a different one been on fluoxetine and venlafaxine in the past and it worked but 2nd time round in them both they didn't, what is my next best option to feel back to normal again and to enjoy life, can u go back to my doctor after day 4 and say it's making me feel rubbish and the day is a total daze?
Avatar n tn The tetracylics - like mirtazapine - can be very effective. And, if you have anxiety, mirtazapine can work well in addressing this, too. Only your Dr. can determine your schedule with the dosages and med switch... But......I would definitely recommend getting a good psychotherapist to work with. I know that when I worked with one in addition to my AD, I got my very best results.
Avatar f tn A study released in May 2010 by the Canadian Medical Association Journal suggests use of venlafaxine doubles the risk of miscarriage. Consequently, venlafaxine should only be used during pregnancy if clearly needed. Prospective studies have not shown any statistically significant congenital malformations. There have, however, been some reports of self-limiting effects on newborn infants.
Avatar m tn steady neurotransmitter levels in your brain and wider body as i understand generic Effexor / venlafaxine has a short half life which leads to possible some daily states of withdrawal if you take them in the morning. Your medication regime may have lost it's overall effectiveness over time as 25 years on one anti-depressant i feel is a good innings with one as it may just be losing it's effectiveness with you.
Avatar f tn After a week and two days of stopping fluoxetine after 5 weeks and starting straight on mirtazapine my mood is really low and snapping at everything and feel rubbish, I can burst out and cry at absolutely anything and come dinner time everyday I have this heavy feeling behind my nose it that means anything to anyone, I've got the shakes have hot sweats and feel sleepy(zombie) all day until tea time where I feel a little human again and then a few hours later I know I'm ready to take the
Avatar m tn thanks Vic as seems an awful long time ago last january as from being there last year i've since went through the withdrawals coming out the other side which where nothing like they were on seroxat. since then i've been trying various things as with not being satisfied with 'califionia rocket fuel' to max doses after initially starting with mirtazapine and then venlafaxine, i've only today started escitalopram with the view to reducing and stopping the mirtazapine.
Avatar n tn I hav taken Effexor Hcl 150 mg generic called Venlafaxine HCL ER Capsules 150mg, for years. A new doc wrote for the same medication in tablet form by mistake instead of the caps. Will it work the same for me?
Avatar m tn remain on mirtzapine along with venlafaxine as initially started solely on mirtazapine and had incredible attempt as had a hole i just could'nt fill as stomach just felt really cold and strange. the weight obviously went up but it slowed down the longer i took it and as my dosage went up. I went up a stone I believe in total as at the time i just could'nt believe the pounds that i was putting on but it did subside. I'm now still trying to lose this weight and then some.
574042 tn?1217656418 Mirtazapine (Remeron) causes no gastrointestinal problems, sexual dysfunction, or insomnia over the long term, but difficulties are likely to occur early. Patients should be advised that while somnolence at the start of therapy may be "overwhelming," it usually lasts only 2-3 days. "You need to counsel patients to stick with it," he said. Increased appetite and weight gain also may be marked in the first stage of therapy but will generally plateau after 2-3 months.
Avatar n tn Hi there, I was hoping someone could give some advice on what my issue may be. I have been going through the worst period of my life over the past 6 months. I'm trying to get out of my business and due over £70k but the other directors are not playing and it's all went legal. To cut a long story short its affected my mental health quite badly to the point I took a massive intentional overdose of over 130 pills and died but came back and survived.
