19478376 tn?1478445910 Hi there, the title says it all. I have been using this for a while 150mg XR Venlafaxine and 15mg 2x a day Salts. For once in my life I don't have severe depression episodes I stay awake all day and sleep well at night. I moved and this new psychiatrist claims that I will die from Serotonin Overdose if I keep taking these. I also take Oxycodone and Tramadol now and again for my chronic back issues deriving from manic episodes when I was younger.
Avatar f tn Is having side effects a good sign the meds trying to work on day 3 and managing to put up with them for now slight head ache but more the dry mouth and horrible taste just wanting people's opinions on this and is it good that I'm experiencing day 3 of switching straight over from another that caused side effects for the 5 weeks I was on them and couldn't take it anymore Thanks

Avatar n tn I am 33 yrs old and after having my first child 4 years ago I have been on Venlofaxine anti depressants. however, I am unsure if this symptom belongs to the effects of the drug. I occasionally get a feeling of numbness, my eyesight is slightly blurred and I experience numbness in my fingertips and lips. I have difficulty concentrating during these spells and find it difficult to remember simple words. My speach can be effected and a dizzy like sensation sweeps over me.
Avatar m tn Venlafaxine (effexor) controls depression but does not cure it. It may take 6 to 8 weeks or longer for you to feel the full benefit of this medication. Continue to take venlafaxine even if you feel well. Do not stop taking venlafaxine without talking to your doctor. Your doctor will probably decrease your dose gradually.
Avatar f tn Hello there, I was prescribed sertraline 3 weeks ago today due to venlafaxine not working as it should, iv been on mirtazapine 15mg since December 10th to help with sleep issues, so anyways I stopped 75mg after 4months due to it not working for me and went straight on to sertraline 100mg morning and 15mg mirtazipine at night I felt balanced and levelled out pretty much straight away but today have woke up tired with flu like symptoms is this normal 3 weeks in do I need to stick it out longer fo

Avatar n tn I just realized that I have been taking three 300mg tablets of WellbutrinXL and I haven't felt any of its effects. No jitteriness, and more importantly, no seizures. What does this say about how good WellbutrinXL is for me? I felt the same way taking 900 mg as I did taking 450 mg. I did call my doctor who told me to take 150 mg today and resume the 450mg (my regular dose) tomorrow. Any thoughts? Thank you.
Avatar n tn During all of this time I have been for the most part stable. missing a dose has immediate side effects which I actually appreciated because it would remind me to take the drug. Last week I began a new bottle. It took me SEVEN days to figure out what was going on. For the first time in my life, I got a bad batch of drugs.
Avatar m tn Please help. I have stopped taking 300mg of venlafaxine for 15 days today and I cannot take the pain or side effects.
Avatar f tn I was recently withdrawn from Venlafaxine 300mgs. bd and had a rough time with sweats and feeling freezing along with nervous system side effects. My GP prescribed me Duloxitine 20mgs. a couple of weeks ago but they didn't appear to be making any difference so I stopped them a week ago. My sister has depression and takes Amitriptylline with good effect. Do you think I ought to request the same from my GP?
Avatar f tn adverse effects related to effexor(venlafaxine) are nausea, somnolence, sweating dizziness, anxiety, sexual disturbances and hypertension
Avatar n tn I managed to stop talking VENLAFAXINE after tapering off very gradually with the support of my GP. I was on 150mg for 14 years and had tried several times to come off this antidepressant, without success. VENLAFAXINE really helped my depression and anxiety, however it has some nasty side effects and is VERY difficult to get off. Although I've been off the drug for a couple of months, I still feel pretty rough most days.
Avatar f tn A study released in May 2010 by the Canadian Medical Association Journal suggests use of venlafaxine doubles the risk of miscarriage. Consequently, venlafaxine should only be used during pregnancy if clearly needed. Prospective studies have not shown any statistically significant congenital malformations. There have, however, been some reports of self-limiting effects on newborn infants.
1910757 tn?1348683319 When I came off Sertraline there were no side effects, but with Venlafaxine the side effects of coming off it are very difficult. Like you I could not tolerate Fluoxetine either. Made me very bad. I can understand the worry about you losing weight. Is there any way you can adjust your diet to help with this? Will your doctor help you with trying to gain some weight?
Avatar f tn x3 that is symptoms of deadly overdose
Avatar f tn Instead, the pharmacist gave her 150mcg of it. After three months, she was feeling awful, Ached all over had a fever and much more. What advise can I give her and what kind of doctor does she need to see to get better? The GP that put her on it is giving her prednisone to make her feel better but as soon as she goes off of it the fever and pain come back and she is having awful effects of the prednisone.
