effexor

Avatar f tn Effexor (venlafaxine) is used to treat depression. Venlafaxine extended-release (long-acting) capsules are also used to treat generalized anxiety disorder (GAD; excessive worrying that is difficult to control), social anxiety disorder (extreme fear of interacting with others or performing in front of others that interferes with normal life), and panic disorder (sudden, unexpected attacks of extreme fear and worry about these attacks).
Avatar m tn ve been doing some reading, and from what I can find, the XR version can be given for panic disorder. Does this mean that the regular (non XR version) isn't effective for panic disorder?
Avatar f tn ve gone a whole day without having a panic attack. My doctor recently put me on 75mg Venlafaxine and I now wake up in the middle of the night (I tak my meds in the morning) in a panic. I'd like to know if this is normal? And if Venlafaxine really helps with anxiety? I've been on other antidepressant that claim to help with anxiety as well and they just made me feel numb.
Avatar f tn I'm currently taking both Effexor XR (Venlafaxine XR) and Lithium Carbonate to treat co-morbid my mental illnesses. I'm just wondering, for anyone taking Effexor XR to treat their Generalized Anxiety Disorder, how do you find it has helped you, in what ways do you think it is inefficient, and what sort of side effects or issues have you had with it?

Avatar m tn I thought at that time it would give me something to look forward to. I am now on Venlafaxine 75 mg for my panic attacks but have slightly dipped again a little and now wake up a bit in the night with it. This holiday is now looming large next month and I'll be sharing a room where I guess privacy will be limited. Also I recently dated a woman the other night and had a panic attack in her bed and soon went home.

Avatar f tn Has anyone ever tried this combo? Did it work for you? My doc wants me to take Lexapro 10 mg for panic disorder and depression but I get sooo tired and told him that I'd need something more energizing to keep me going and get me off the couch, Wellbutrin XL works wonders in that regard. I haven't heard from the doc yet...maybe he thinks I'm crazy lol.
Avatar n tn I have heard many a bad thing about prozac, anyone out there take prozac who suffers from panic disorder and depression?
Avatar n tn will a total hysterectomy cure my panic disorder.
Avatar n tn My mother has been suffering from a panic disorder for the past 5 months, primarily experiencing the panic at night. She describes the feeling as a pit in her stomach and fear, but she can not really say what she fears. She just says " I am fearful." She has seen a psychiatrist who gave her zoloft first, but it did not work. Then they gave her xanax, but again this did not work. Then they told her to take more xanax and Klonopin, but she continues to experience the panic.
20867265 tn?1552026340 I've been taking Effexor/Venlafaxine since I was 23 (I'm going to be 30 in May). The medication was prescribed to me when I was still diagnosed as having Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). However, when I was 27, I got the diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder instead and that resonated a lot more. I noticed that my mental health improved quite considerably after that diagnosis and once I was put on mood stabilizers. My psychiatrist didn't take me off the antidepressants however.
Avatar f tn Thanks a lot yes I took benzo for 1yr continously for a yr and so .yes I was going through depression for long.I read a lot of articles about benzos and ssri's and after doing so im even more depressed .I dont know wether im clear of seizure risk but the thing im most worried about is the panic attacks they are too brutal to handle.I really feel now that being physically handicapped is not as worse as people suffering from panic attacks atleast they can go freely witout fear .
Avatar f tn Does anyone know how to heal anxiety/ panic disorder without medication? I'm on mirtazapine and xanax as needed. I hate it. Tired of feeling like a zombie.

1126790 tn?1268014605 I've had what is presumable panic disorder for the past two years now, and today seems to be particularly bad. Earlier, I started to feel tingly all over, and when I noticed it, I went into a short panic attack (chest discomfort, extreme fear, urge to leave the place, etc). Now the tingling sensation won't go away, and I feel somewhat dizzy. My heartrate is fine, there are no mental changes in the slightest, and my legs feel slightly weak still, like I was just scared quite badly.

Avatar f tn I saw a therapist a couple years ago and she diagnosed me with anxiety, panic disorder and post traumatic stress disorder but didn't put me on any meds. I was able to deal with it for the first year but it seems to be getting worse now!! What do I do?
Avatar m tn I was just wondering if what I have is a symptom of panic disorder, which I have. It feels like there's a heat rush going to my head and it feels tingly. Is this common? Thanks.
Avatar m tn Since that trip to the hospital I live in constant fear and have panic attacks about once every other day, and have trouble breathing usually accompanied with chills. Do you think I might have a panic disorder, or even OCD. Any help is good help.
Avatar f tn You've asked the perfect questions about Celexa. It was prescribed to me months ago but haven't taken it yet. Afraid to. It was also given to me for panic attacks. I hear mixed messages about it, but everybody that I've heard stuff from was using it for depression. I'm wondering if it has the same effect on people taking it for depression as it does on people taking it for anxiety/panic. I'll keep checking this post and please let me know if you do take it and how you feel.
Avatar m tn Hey there I have panic disorder and my eyes feel really tired sometimes. I'm not really tired but my eyes are just droopy. Is this a symptom or what?
Avatar n tn Can anyone help??? I have been on venlafaxine for 4 years and after my recent visit to the doctor she advised me to cut down for three weeks on the venlafaxine and then start on mirtazapine 15mg. In my infinite wisdom I thought I would cut down the venlafaxine in my own way and not bother with the mirtazapine. I thought what is the point of cutting out one med to go on another as I'm keen to be med free. This is now third day without any medication I feel ill.
