Avatar n tn after my hysterectomy 2 years ago i have hot flashes and night sweats it is severe i have tried everthing at the wal mart pharmacy over the counter nothing is working im going crazy pls help me on wat to do
Avatar f tn I have gotten the sweats from some meds, but for me it was all over sweats, not just the feet. Now, the callouses? No. Not the drug. Not sweating. What it can cause is fungal infections if it's constant, but you don't mention those. Buy any new shoes lately? New socks? If it is the drug, and it's working well for you, this probably isn't enough of a problem to stop taking it for. If it's not really working, then it might be.
Avatar f tn I was recently withdrawn from Venlafaxine 300mgs. bd and had a rough time with sweats and feeling freezing along with nervous system side effects. My GP prescribed me Duloxitine 20mgs. a couple of weeks ago but they didn't appear to be making any difference so I stopped them a week ago. My sister has depression and takes Amitriptylline with good effect. Do you think I ought to request the same from my GP?
1436182 tn?1283681713 m sorry your night sweats are so disruptive. I take tamoxifen and have only 1-2 night sweats per night, not as severe as yours. (I wake up and think the bed is on fire, but find it's only a hot flash.) I have a friend who takes tamoxifen and has had many hot flashes that she says are helped by drinking green tea. SurYoung55 has good advice about talking to your doctors.
Avatar f tn Is the night sweats lasting for one day without fever cause for concern? I know forum is full of worried wells, and I am most likely one of them, unfortunately I made the mistake of googling "Night sweats no fever" and the first thing that pops up is .. well .. you know. I know this is more anxiety based than anything and I shouldn't be combing my body with a fine tooth comb, but I would like some input as I plan to be tested soon anyway as part of my yearly.
Avatar f tn I had nigh sweats long before I knew what thyroid medication was, so for me, the sweats are, for sure, not a side effect of the thyroid med. For over 12 yrs, my doctor kept telling me they were menopause -- sorry, no way I could buy that; I had a hysterectomy in 1996, which meant instant menopause and I know effects don't last for 12 yrs. My previous doctor finally acknowledged that, but wasn't interested enough to try to find a cause.
Avatar f tn To my understanding nights sweats are a product of a fever, right? Can you have night sweats without a fever? If so would non-fever night sweats relate to HIV still? Also how do you know if your having a fever at night? in the past when I had a night sweat, I would just wake up because I'm wet usually around my neck and chest area, I don't feel like I had fever. I remember in the past when I got tested for HIV I got so stressed I was having night sweats, test turned out to be negative.
Avatar f tn I was put on Effexor for the night sweats. Studies have shown it may make a difference for women who experience extreme night sweats. It did help matters for me somewhat, but the only problem is that I have now been on it for three years, and it is one of the hardest antidepressants to taper. I was in the doctor's office today and read a short article in either Better Homes and Gardens or Good Housekeeping...can't remember which one.
Avatar f tn re ahead of the game there. Great for you. After 9 days I would have loved to wake up to night sweats after 6 hrs of sleep. The lack of sleep was one of the hardest effects from detox for me. So glad you're feeling better too. Hope you've turned the corner for good. Stay on your toes though and get ready for a better life. Don't we deserve it?
Avatar m tn I'm 19 years old. Lately, more specifically for the past month or so, I have been waking up in the middle of the night soaked in sweat, and i find myself having to change my shirt upon returning to bed. It has literally only been a month since I've started experiencing these night sweats! it has been occuring 3 or 4 times a week. Should I be concerned? I have heard from several people that nightsweats are quite common with people my age entering adulthood.
Avatar f tn Hi, I had the right side of my thyroid removed last year due to a benign nodule. They didn't know it was benign until they removed it as the FNA was inconclusive. I'm going through the menopause and have night sweats but you're far too young for that. Did your doctor put you on medication for your thyroid after your op? a month after my operation I was put on a 100mg of Thyroxine and seems I'm on it for life.
Avatar m tn Thanks, for the reply but i just want to have the basic idea of what "true night sweats" mean. You answer would be highly, appreciated.
Avatar m tn As for night sweats, i still have them and i'm over 6 months post tx and SVR........ Good luck and hang in there.
Avatar n tn I have been Type 1 diabetic for 45 years, I have had night sweats, for many years some times so wet that we have had to strip the bed and move into the spare room, My wife tells me that the wetness don’t smell like sweat in fact it is odourless, I have no smell at all, lost that years ago, the "sweats" as we call them are a mystery to all and some time two nights in a row then nothing for a month or so.
458072 tn?1291415186 I have had night sweats since my second laporascope for endometreosis. I have been having them worse lately. I wake up with the collar to mid chest wet with sweat mosts nights. I always attributed it to hormones of the female kind, but, now I am not so sure. Back then I had surgery for endometreosis because my monthly was a constant thing. I wonder how much of my life I might have had some sort of thyroid malfunction now though.
Avatar f tn t a specialist in other fields, lol, but do you by chance know other reasons for random bouts of night sweats other than infection or illness?
Avatar m tn i have had night sweats for awhile now(about a year) and i have tested negative for HIV since they started.should i negate HIV as a cause?
1889242 tn?1321354938 I have had night sweats like you describe in the past. Usually they will last for a week or so. It is gross, like you said. They usually wake me up they're so gross, and then I change clothes. I'm also like you in that I'm generally freezing during the day. I never thought to associate the sweats with anything, though.
703031 tn?1398963307 I had an appointment with my doctor about a month ago for something else and I when I mentioned the night sweats at the end, he said to schedule another appointment and he'd do some testing to see if I was in pre-menopause or what was going on, so I have that appointment on Monday. I would suggest you make an appointment with the doctor to see what's up.
Avatar n tn I gave birth 1 week ago and I am waking up with night sweats. Has anyone else had this issue?
Avatar n tn I am sorry for your suffering! Hopefully, your remaining ovary will "get with the program" soon!! If that does not happen soon, you could go on a birth control pill. They sort of "override" or "replace" ovarian hormones. So that can resolve the menopausal type symptoms (in your case night sweats) but I do not know if it will just prolong the situation or not.
Avatar m tn Yeah, I was happy to get down to one/two sweats/night. Prior to being dx'd hypo/Hashi's, it wasn't unusual for me to have to get up and change clothes and/or my bedding in the middle of the night, due to sweating. I don't think your sweats are from the levo either. If they are thyroid related, they are most likely because your levels are off. This is an old thread; do you have current labs, with reference ranges, that you could post?
Avatar m tn Does anyone know the specifics of Night sweats and ARS? Like how long do they last, and how much sweat you produce. I have been having them every night for the past 2+ months... And also I heard Teak say on another post, that swollen lymphnodes associated with ARS are not Tender, and do not hurt with pressure applied. Can anyone confirm this?
Avatar f tn I'm 7 months pregnant and lately I been experiencing these horrible night sweats is that like a part of pregnancy thing & why??
Avatar n tn Diabetes can also cause night sweats as can a number of other diseases. Finally, it is not uncommon for a person to have night sweats, for no apparent cause, but that should not be your assumption. I suggest that you see your doctor, for evaluation of the night sweats. Good luck.
Avatar f tn I experienced postpartum night sweats after my first daughter, but they stopped after a few months. This time around I am still experiencing them 10 months later-- they aren't every night and they aren't has bad as they were at the beginning. If I google it, everything fatal comes up. I called my OB/GYN and the nurse did not seemed concerned at all.
Avatar m tn Keep in mind that antidepressants frequently cause night sweats. I get them from Lexapro and Celexa, for example. So medication can cause the same symptoms as anxiety. One thing you might try is dividing the Zoloft dose in two -- sometimes that levels the side effects and keeps a steady amount in your bloodstream.
Avatar f tn Night sweats are a symptom of ars..
Avatar f tn Yes I have horrible night sweats. I have for over a year now. I've had so much lab work. FLH are normal. Although I do have a very low WBC count. I'm going to see my pcp next week. My husband hates the night sweats. I saturate the sheets.
