Avatar m tn I have been using venlafaxine almost 1year, suddenly my blood pressure raised to 150/90. I consult doctor and he stop the medicine. But my blood pressure is still high after withdrawl of venlafaxine? I stopped the medicine and 4months over but my blood pressure is still high? How long my blood pressure is going to high and when it comes to normal stage?
Avatar f tn After three days of this I had Mikey take me to Vanderbilt ER. My blood pressure was through the roof, and they moved me to the Cardiac Unit because it was so high that I could have a stroke. I stayed there for three nights and four days, cried my eyes out, because I was mostly alone, didn't know what was wrong. They swapped my medications, from Venlafaxine HCL to Citalopram HBR thinking the side effect was causing my blood pressure to go up, then sent me home.
Avatar n tn ve been in decades, but even that small dose of Venlafaxine makes my blood pressure brittle and I have a marked tremor. For me, these side-effects are a price well worth paying. I'm not suggesting that may be a suitable combination for you - just trying to demonstrate that there are effective alternatives out there.
Avatar n tn hia i am on venlafaxine, i been on it for a while, it normaly helps me, but 4 the last fewweeks i been feeling really good, but now i feel ill all the time and suicidal , and also my nan has got bipolar, i was wondering if it runs in the family?
Avatar f tn They swapped my medications, from Venlafaxine HCL to Citalopram HBR thinking the side effect was causing my blood pressure to go up, then sent me home. I not only had withdrawals but the new medicine caused my Fibromyalgia to flair up significantly. Within one month I went to my heart doctor begging for Nortriptyline (something I used previously for Fibromyalgia) they prescribed it and it helped 50% but still my anxiety was bad, and other symptoms were present.
Avatar n tn Trust me, all the name brand antidepressant meds are just as expensive. The active ingredient in Effexor is Venlafaxine, which is avalible in a Generic, but it is not in the XR form. The XR is short for "extended release." Only the Effexor has this time release form of Venlafaxine delivery. I have found this time release form to be much more effective than the generic Venlafaxine which has no such delivery system.
Avatar n tn Can anyone help??? I have been on venlafaxine for 4 years and after my recent visit to the doctor she advised me to cut down for three weeks on the venlafaxine and then start on mirtazapine 15mg. In my infinite wisdom I thought I would cut down the venlafaxine in my own way and not bother with the mirtazapine. I thought what is the point of cutting out one med to go on another as I'm keen to be med free. This is now third day without any medication I feel ill.
Avatar f tn A study released in May 2010 by the Canadian Medical Association Journal suggests use of venlafaxine doubles the risk of miscarriage. Consequently, venlafaxine should only be used during pregnancy if clearly needed. Prospective studies have not shown any statistically significant congenital malformations. There have, however, been some reports of self-limiting effects on newborn infants.
1709162 tn?1314084832 My heart rate is always been quite high (100 - 120 at rest) My blood pressure has always been a bit low (110 - 120 over 60) Lately though my blood pressure has been 109 to 117 over 85 to 95 with a resting pulse rate of 115. I am constantly shaky. I am taking 75mg of venlafaxine and 10 mg amitryptiline at night which I have been taken for a couple of months. Why am I feeling like this?
Avatar f tn It may take 6 to 8 weeks or longer for you to feel the full benefit of this medication. Continue to take venlafaxine even if you feel well. Do not stop taking venlafaxine without talking to your doctor. Your doctor will probably decrease your dose gradually.
Avatar f tn Is this anxiety or something else? I have head pressure, shoots of pain, ear pressure, millions of ear infections in left ear always feels wet inside. ENT says everything is normal, I take nexium for acid reflex, klor-con, slowmag, vitamin d3 2000, iron pills, in decemeber I started having vibrating in my lower body in legs , feet, buzzing sensations, and tingling on back of my head, and tingling on my left side of tounge, I do have my wisdom teeth inside still and one is impacted.
1270834 tn?1270769758 I had recently had my son and had started to take Venlafaxine again after a break during pregnancy. I saw my doctor who said it was probably nothing to worry about, in fact I don't think he really believed me. This prompted me to collect some samples to show him the next week. I easily filled a little urine specimen vial with about 50 of these little balls (which considering each motion was laden throughout with them, was an extremely easy task!!
1110049 tn?1409402144 She tells me that the lowest dose of XL is 75mg. She has put me on 37.5mg daily Venlafaxine. I tried this as 150mg dose, and it was not the same at all as Effexor. Is there any alternative. I know Venlafaxine, is supposed to be the same as Effexor, but I don't think it is - at least my body said it was different!! I am now wondering what the next step is for me. What is the difference between Effexor XL and Venlafaxine. How do I reduce from 37.5mg Venlafaxine?
Avatar f tn So I'm currently taking 75mg venlafaxine and 15mg mirtazapine the mirtazapine is great doing its job for the night time anxiety it's more than enough to calm me and help me sleep the night but my concern is the venlafaxine it's causing me stomach upset and feelings of low mood iv been taking this combo since beginning of December whilst some what it has levelled me out to the state I was currently in I don't feel as tho the venlafaxine is helping anymore as Iv been on it before a
Avatar f tn I have been taking 37 twice a day venlafaxine for a year now and initially felt great however 4 months ago I have been slowly feeling the same as I did before I started taking venlafaxine. I have frequent dizzy spells and get upset every day do I need to increase my dose?
233002 tn?1316027966 I was prescribed venlafaxine recently and it was a nightmare. I was wondering if anyone else has had any experiences with it and other medicines used to combat the depression that seems to come and go with this disease.
Avatar f tn I stopped taking Venlafaxine almost 1 year ago. My Pharmacist helped me with the "weaning" process, so things were okay for a while. Now here I am, a year later, and I actually feel WORSE than I did back then. The clinic I go to has rotating doctors (I do not have insurance regardless of "the affordable care act"), so it is difficult to relate to a physician every 3-4 months.
Avatar n tn i am on 450 mgs venlafaxine, 150mg quatipine at night and have prn 3x .25 quatipine during the day. venlafaxine isn't working anymore. I have been given 2 options.. option 1. taper very slowly over a very long period of time and take other meds to stablize me, option 2. go back to the psych ward and under supervision come off venlafaxine which then is going to be replaced by another anti dep.
Avatar m tn Venlafaxine (effexor) controls depression but does not cure it. It may take 6 to 8 weeks or longer for you to feel the full benefit of this medication. Continue to take venlafaxine even if you feel well. Do not stop taking venlafaxine without talking to your doctor. Your doctor will probably decrease your dose gradually.
Avatar f tn You will need to consult your doctor to rule out malabsorption syndromes. Blood tests will help detect infections, besides stool examination which will reveal fat malabsorption. Bacterial overgrowth is tested with a breath test. Please discuss these issues with your primary care physician when you happen to meet him. regards.
Avatar n tn I'm am MS patient on venlafaxine (Effexor) and at least in Europe, there is no generic available, but loads in the States. https://en.wikipedia.
Avatar m tn This is the first time I have posted a comment/question on here but I often come here to read posts. I was recently put on 150mg of Venlafaxine once daily in combination with 1mg Lorazepam as needed. I am responding quickly to the Venlafaxine ER and have only had a few bumps throughout the day that required half of the 1mg Lorazepam. My problem is sleeping? I'm so worried about the addictive qualities of Lorazepam that I am hesitant to take it to help me sleep.
