Avatar f tn I have seen five doctors, gone to physical therapy, had orthotics made and adjusted more than five times, had an electromyography and nerve conduction velocity test, an MRI and blood tests, multiple X-Rays and changes in shoes. All of the above tests have come back normal and not one doctor has been able to figure out what's wrong with me.

1336659 tn?1275890125 Pes cavovarus, the most common type of pes cavus, is seen primarily in neuromuscular disorders such as Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, and in cases of unknown aetiology, conventionally termed as ‘idiopathic’ . Pes cavovarus presents with the calcaneus in varus, the first metatarsal plantarflexed and a claw-toe deformity . Radiological analysis of pes cavus in Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease shows the forefoot is typically plantarflexed in relation to the rearfoot .
Avatar n tn Hi, Thanks for writing in. CTEV (Congenital Talipes Equino Varus), the cause of this condition is unknown but thought to be related to the baby’s position in the womb. CTEV can be of two types structural and postural. Structural is related to bones and joints which could have caused CTEV. Postural is due to muscle weakness and imbalance. What is age of your child? Has he been operated? Treatment is effective when started early after birth.
Avatar n tn Getting ready for a knee replacement I had a adenosine stress test after having previous chest pain and turning 50 this year. That part went fine but the pictures revealed a past event.Although know blockage was seen, there was a part at the tip that showed damage. Is there anyway to determine when and how this could have happened?
Avatar f tn Hi my lovely-sounding friend... I read somewhere that when people have gait problems, they automatically adjust their walking style so that more weight is borne on the good leg, and when the gait is back to normal, sometimes you consciously adjust your walking style so that you put more weight on the 'bad' leg and hey presto - a fracture, an anticipated fall, or sudden pain that causes you to jump.

Avatar n tn She was again put on azythromyicin. She still had the coughing and wheezing, was then given a blood test. She was finally diagonised with mycroplasma in her blood. She was put on biaxcin for 10 days and I was told that this would do the trick. About a month later she developed a cough that went dirrectly into wheezing and shortness of breath again. I was told to take her to a pulmonologist who started her on 7 days of prednisone. She is also on pulmicort and albutoral inhalers.
Avatar n tn Hey all! I had 1st metatarsal osteotomy ("boat" is written on my surgical consent form) on Jan 27th. I did 6 weeks non weight bearing and had an x-ray at my 6 week follow-up where my surgeon gave me the go ahead to start walking again. 6 weeks later, still swollen and in pain, I went for my 12 week follow-up where I was told my toe was dislocated (hallux varus) and I'd need surgery again.
Avatar n tn My 57 year old husband had an EKG for pre op for surgery of the knee. He failed the EKG and had "T abnormalities". The cardiologist wanted him to have an echo and a Thallium stress test, with adenosine since he can't run with his knee. The echo turned out fine and the stress test had good contractility but showed a "small fixed defect". I did not get to speak to the doctor and I don't know what this means.
Avatar n tn In the beginning of august I had a bad fall. I was put in a knee splint. After an MRI it looks like I have a grade 3 MCL tear. Prior to that, I've had habitual dislocation of the patella. Today, the doctor said I might have never had a connected MCL since my knee would "travel" with every step (and I could walk and function completely normally, before the injury).
Avatar f tn I have had a lot of knee pain at night. This is my left knee. Today I wake up with a huge bruise on my right knee. I have no idea where this bruise came from. The bruise does not hurt, but the knee is aching. Suggestions???
Avatar n tn Metatarsus adductus, also known as metatarsus varus, is a common foot deformity noted at birth that causes the front half of the foot, or forefoot, to turn inward. Metatarsus adductus may also be referred to as "flexible" (the foot can be straightened to a degree by hand) or "non-flexible" (the foot cannot be straightened by hand). What causes metatarsus adductus? The cause of metatarsus adductus is not known.
Avatar f tn It was " suggested " that I have a stress test. It's not mandatory so I'm wondering if I should have one done at all. Has anyone had a stress test? If so what did the results reveal?
Avatar f tn I have an apt today to do a stress test since am over due. I want to go in there informed, does anyone know what it is or whats going to happen?
Avatar f tn In a low risk pregnancy a non stress test or stress test would only be warranted if their was a concern. However diabetics (both gestational and non) have a higher rate of stillborn babies (still rare, but better to be safe) so its common practice to keep a closer eye as the pregnancy nears the end.
