Avatar m tn Is the weather warming up too? Your veins get way more noticeable in warm weather and if you've lost some weight with all that stress, you will notice them even more. You could be getting some ankle/feet swelling from your varicose veins due to the warm weather. Anxiety will take any normal physical sensation and pick away at it, until that is all you can feel. Everyone can feel their veins in hot weather if they concentrate, I reckon. Good luck.
Avatar n tn Hello and hope you are doing well. Varicose veins are caused by hormone changes, exposure to the sun, and injuries. Few predisposing factors for developing varicose veins are prolonged standing or sitting, chronic constipation, menstrual cycle, birth control pills/estrogen replacement therapy, obesity, sedentary lifestyle, pregnancy etc.It may not be possible to determine the exact cause of your symptoms without a detailed evaluation.
Avatar f tn Well, I would look up Deep Vein Thrombosis, too, and see if any of the symptoms relate to what is happening to you. If it is a varicose vein it is no big deal, but if it is DVT you should go in and get checked, and don't wait until Monday if the symptoms match its description. Good luck; I hope it is just a v.v.
Avatar f tn It is very difficult to tell if your symptoms of headache are related to varicose veins without examination. Some association of varicose veins and migraine has been worked out. I would suggest you to try alternate therapy like acupressure, yoga and meditation and breathing exercises. Take care!
Avatar f tn not vascular and had horrible varicose veins up and down both legs by the age of 20. Just a few years ago I had my veins pulled out and the Dr said that I was 1 of the 3 worst cases he had ever seen and the other 2 were elderly. My skin hurts all the time...even getting a pedicure when they rub your legs hurts.
Avatar f tn org/diseases-conditions/varicose-veins/symptoms-causes/syc-20350643. Basically, weak or damaged valves lead to varicose veins. Being obese is a risk factor and losing weight would likely help a multitude of things in your life. That's never easy but something that would be very beneficial to work on. Sitting for prolonged periods of time also contribute to varicose veins. You are a young man and this should be a priority for your health.
1138687 tn?1548643978 Hi, I am wondering why there isn't a varicose veins forum!? Where else might I post my varicose veins concerns? I posted in the Deep Vein Thrombosis forum but noticed it is rarely used. I'm not certain but isn't DVT a result of varicose veins? And if varicose veins are more common, with DVT being a side affect, then Why not change that forum to Varicose Veins? Regardless shouldn't there be a forum for varicose veins?
Avatar m tn Varicose veins usually result from failures in valves in veins connecting the superficial veins to the deep system in your legs. This is a mechanical problem. No medicine can restore this function. Horse chestnut extracts have been studied and appear to decrease the swelling due to venous insufficiency but the appearance is unchanged.
Avatar n tn You may feel that the advantages of taking the pill outweigh the risk of varicose veins. That said I doubt if taking the pill would stop the problem! Ask the doctor for his/her opinion.
1138687 tn?1548643978 Hi, I am looking for support for my varicose veins! I have what would be considered a pretty severe case and I'm only 31 and male. I've had them since youth, but after all the chaos in my life in that past 5 yrs, I haven't been in touch with my body as much as usual!
Avatar m tn Hello and welcome to the forum. Thank you for the question. We're sorry your wife has this concern. This might be varicose veins which is a fairly common condition and usually simply cosmetic rather than of a health concern. Not always though, but often. Here's some information on it. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/varicose-veins/symptoms-causes/syc-20350643 An important question is if your wife has any pain or discomfort?
Avatar n tn Percutaneous coil embolization of the spermatic vein offers a minimally invasive method for treating symptomatic varicose veins of the scrotum. Consult a urologist for further assistance. Best.
Avatar n tn Note that when you have laser treatment it destroys the veins so the blood will go to other veins and the problem will most likely return.
757137 tn?1347196453 A few years ago my varicose veins had become so bad that I had a sac of purplish-black blood hanging from each ankle. Very scary to look at. The veins were on the verge of ulcerating. They have since been cured without vein ligations or injections. I started using BioSil (a bioavailable form of silicon). (I also started adding trace minerals to my water, but don't think this was a factor.) After about a year my feet returned to normal. One note: you have to be patient.
Avatar f tn Varicose veins are gnarled, enlarged veins. Any vein may become varicose, but the veins most commonly affected are those in your legs and feet. That's because standing and walking upright increases the pressure in the veins of your lower body. Sometimes varicose veins lead to more-serious problems. Varicose veins may also signal a higher risk of other circulatory problems. Treatment may involve self-care measures or procedures by your doctor to close or remove veins.
Avatar f tn Hello and welcome to the forum! We're glad you are here and appreciate your question. So, while it may not be a varicose vein, it can still be what they call a 'bulging vein'. " Bulging veins are prominent, enlarged veins that often appear blue or purple. They’re easy to see because they’re superficial veins close to the surface of your skin and typically occur on show up in your legs, feet, ankles and hands.
1032669 tn?1252456404 Yeah, I'm one of the lucky ones with varicose veins too :-( I have a few on my legs that look and feel like raised bruises, and my labia is swollen too. My obgyn said it's not uncommon and that, unfortunately, it will just continue to get worse until delivery...as the weight of your uterus (and baby) increases and puts more pressure on the veins. Oh well, it's all worth it for a healthy baby!
Avatar m tn I had an extremely serious case of varicose veins. On the inner sie of each ankle was a sack of blackish stagnant blood, a horror to look at. The skin was thinning and close to rupturing. At some point I adding liquid trace minerals to my drinking water, with no purpose in mind other than adding to my general health. I put one tablespoon in each gallon of filtered water. I also added 16 drops of BioSil.
Avatar m tn Calcium-rich foods, since varicose veins are aggravated by a calcium deficiency Pineapple, to reduce swelling and inflammation. Berries such as raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and cherries, as they contain a pigment that strengthens the walls of the veins Foods high in fiber Plenty of water, to keep your bowels moving.
Avatar f tn This pregnancy i have developed some varicose veins. I have one that is protruding on my left inner calf and is right on top of bad spider vein. It is tender to the touch and i can feel a little discomfort walking up and down stairs. Is this normal or could it actually be a blood clot? It is not warm to the touch just painful and tender.
Avatar m tn Both the redness and the spider veins kept getting more noticeable as i got older and about the beginning of my junior year in high school (17 years old) i started to notice a varicose vein coming in on my left under eye (that eye had the biggest spider vein), and now i am 18 years old in my senior year at high school with really bad redness, spider and varicose veins under both of my eyes.
