It may bruise during sexual intercourse and thus wearing of a condom is highly recommended. This pregnancy i have developed some varicose veins. I have one that is protruding on my left inner calf and is right on top of bad spider vein. This year in May I stopped taking the birth control pills and a couple months later I noticed on my legs bulging varicose veins. The onset seemed to be quite sudden. Could the fact that I stopped taking the birth control pills caused the sudden onset of the varicose veins?

Okay so the other night my leg started throbbing :( and it hurts to move my ankle and bend my leg. It hurts to stand or straighten.. Hi, I am wondering why there isn't a varicose veins forum!? Where else might I post my varicose veins concerns? I posted in the Deep Vein Thrombosis forum but noticed it is rarely used. I'm not certain but isn't DVT a result of varicose veins? And if varicose veins are more common, with DVT being a side affect, then Why not change that forum to Varicose Veins? I have the same problem. It's not normal because I didn't use to have it before. It's dark blue/purple veins in the shape of a pentagon that looks like it has arms and legs on the right side of my penis. There is bruising around the area which varies in discoloration from day to day but never completely goes away. I've seen other people post similar problems and the doctor's just say it's normal. My penis tends to bend to the left slightly now whether hard or soft.

If you already have varicose veins you may have some doubts about taking birth control pills. If your varicose veins are mild and are not a symptom of a more serious condition, your doctor may agree to prescribe a low-dose estrogen pill. In this case it's up to you to decide what your priorities are. You may feel that the advantages of taking the pill outweigh the risk of varicose veins. That said I doubt if taking the pill would stop the problem! Ask the doctor for his/her opinion.

This might be varicose veins which is a fairly common condition and usually simply cosmetic rather than of a health concern. Not always though, but often. Do you have varicose(bulging) veins by any chance? I do and sometimes they itch and I scratch them to the point of bruising.

Note that when you have laser treatment it destroys the veins so the blood will go to other veins and the problem will most likely return.

As long as it is not causing any problems, I would not worry about it. There are different colored veins and blood vessels that have odd shapes on mine, too--and have never posed a problem. Hope this helps!
