This is most alarming to me because now I am noticing when I sit in my car I feel my veins on my thigh touching the seat and as a 31 yr old this is alarming and uncomfortable. I feel I should have never been this hard on my frail body! Anyway, I know struggle makes us beautiful so i am not complaining, but I also believe that we shouldn't jump into harms way. Thanks for your support and MH should have a varicose vein forum. wth.
I have some on my thigh and I've been getting pains for 6 wks and I'm only going on 10. I didn't think about varicose veins being the reason for the pain until I just read this!!!!!
Seems like we share a few common things besides varicose veins. Only discovered I was preg at 14 weeks and am 27 weeks now and wld really want vbac but read somewhere saying they usually start inside so was also worried about obstruction of baby.
What are the options for pretty bad varicose veins on the inner thigh? Also, other than looking bad are there any long term health concerns?
I have rather large varicose veins on my inner thigh. Do varicose veins cause any pain or medical complications over time. Also what are the options for removing them? Thank you.
I have a large varicose vein on the back of my left thigh. Two weeks ago, I had major surgery and this vein is very tender to the touch and hurts somewhat when I walk. Is this from the lack of exercise because of my surgery or could a blood clot be forming? Note: I see no redness, swelling etc that would be a sign of a blood clot.
I have been experiencing severe varicose vein pain and problems in my left thigh. I have had problems for which I wear 20-30mmhG on my left leg below the knee. I am scheduled to fly from Oklahoma City to San Jose, Ca tomorrow afternoon/evening. I have a 2 hour, 35 minute flight from OKC to Las Vegas. I have about an hour and a half layover there with the remaining flight from Las Vegas to San Jose which is a 1 hour, 20 minute flight.
Am currently pregnant and have developed varicose veins on inner thigh and right side labia majora. On some days its sore and uncomfortable to walk when the majora is swollen. Am also worried if this won't affect my trial vbac?
Hello and sorry for the late reply. Varicose veins in the legs are formed due to faulty valves in the veins, resulting in back flow, hence the venous dilatation. There could also be back flow at the saphenofemoral junction in the thigh. This incompetence can also cause the superficial veins in the abdomen to be dilated. These veins can also dilate due to other causes like portal hypertension. Next time you visit your doctor discuss this with him. Regards.
I hadn't noticed until today, as I was shaving my legs, that my varicose veins are multiplying and becomeing quite prominent. I read they are mostly on inside and calves of legs. Mine are on outside of legs, knees, and thights. Could these be caused by the spasticity? Just curious if this needed added to timeline. .
I was recently told that the pain I've been having in my legs is from varicose veins. I've tried compression stockings, changing my shoes, and leg elevation. Nothing has worked and in fact the compression stockings caused more pain. The veins on the insides of my knees are causing a lot of pain to the point that I can't let my legs touch at night. I am having pains up my thigh on the inside and back. I'm just so tired of this pain and Its affecting my sleep and my job.
Aside from the red color, there is also a varicose veins who is slowly grow on the birthmark affected leg, so I just thought that it is connected to my birthmark too, b/c why is it that there's no varicose veins on my right leg which doesn't have a birthmark, its swelling and aching. I wish that their will be a kindhearted one or a doctor who could help me. If there will be a trial medical surgery, then I would be the first to volunteer myself for that trial.
So I'm 17w3d and about two weeks ago i noticed i have some varicose veins on my right ankle, and right thigh along with a few on my left calf. I know they say to stay off your feet to help with avoiding getting them but with a 20 month old thats nearly impossible! I try to put my legs up whenever I'm sitting and try not to go out and do things over a couple hours. Do any of you have suggestions about what else would help?
If I were to have surgery on these veins, w/ port wine being a vascular deformity would it be likely that I would have other veins become varicose later? I really want to have the surgery. My veins have been varicose since middle school. They are painful and restrict my exercise. I am extremely embarassed, and as could be expected, summer is the worst! I have 2 beautiful daughters that were born port wine free, and I would die to be able to wear dresses and shorts again.
it has started painning mildly now with a bit of a swelling compared to the othe knee. And the area of blue-purple spot has spread more.i have spider like veins all over my thigh on spots also.what this could be? i hope its a case of just vericose veins.
For several months I've noticed deep blue veins on my upper thigh. When I lean against something (like the bathroom vanity), it feels like a big bruise. These are not spider veins or varicose. They look like normal veins except that they're very noticable and only on the upper region of my right thigh. I wouldn't be worried about them except for the fact that they feel like a bruise. Any ideas?
Hi, I know it is difficult for you ,but you should take rest for a few days and massage the using a topical gel which will relax your contracted muscles. Also note if threre are any varicose veins which may also be causing the pain. You should do yoga ,it will help you.If the pain persists even after a week, you should see an orthopedician.
I just turned 25, I started with the small veins on the top of my right leg, my doctor told me its because I walk on concrete all day, standing up, for work. I quit my job and in the past 5 months they've gotten worse. They appear on the top of my left thigh too, but maybe 2 that are very small. The right leg is the problem which is strange to me that they are so bad on just the one leg on the front and back just on my thigh.
I have had leg pain in the past, and have had nerve conduction, and ultra sounds done on my legs, they finally decided that it is probably varicose veins. However this thigh pain is much worse, and different. What can I do to relieve this pain?
Hi, It is important to rule out circulatory problems like varicose veins which can cause severe muscle cramps. The chances of peripheral vascular diseases are more if you have a positive history of smoking. I would suggest you to schedule an appointment with your GP for clinical evaluation. In the meantime make sure to do some leg and thigh exercises drink plenty of water and maintain your salt and electrolyte intake.
Her doctor was perplexed, but thought maybe it had something to do with her varicose veins. My mom is in her mid 60's, and this has been going on with her on and off for about 10 years. If you find out what it is, what causes it and what can make it stop, please email me so I can forward that info to my mom. Best of luck!
This will probably make me sound like a complete weirdo, but I figure I may as well ask and see if anyone knows anything. Using Google just brings back information on Spider / Varicose Veins no matter which word variation I seem to use. For nearly a year, I'd get this shocking pain around my inner right ankle. My natural reaction was to look at it, and every time theres a vein (typically unseen) that will bulge out and appears to be about as big around as a pencil.
The pain went away the next day. However, I anticipate it will return. Phlebitis? Varicose Veins? Blood clot? Thanks for your help.
Just recently the right leg has started to develop noticeable veins in the back of the calf as well as the inside of the thigh. Not to bad yet though but is definitely getting worse. I also have noticed vericose veins in adomen. 2 veins, one coming up each side. They also seem to be growing slowly. I also have very prominent veins in my arms, hands and feet. My legs and feet get very soar when I stand still and I almost always need to put my feet up after walking.
Alright, I came to this site looking for help, on a particular problem I seem to be having in my inner thigh area (specifically on my right inner thigh, about half way between my groin and my knee).
Hello, I have recently been experiencing sudden sharp almost electric shock like sensations on my upper left thigh (front of thigh). The pain is sudden and only lasts 1 to 4 seconds, but occurs several times a day. I have a vericose vein above my left knee (from my second pregnancy, baby is 12 months old) could the two be related?
also, i should add that on the inner side of that knee/thigh area, the veins look funny. And i can actually see them, but on my left leg, i cannot. I played tennis a few weeks ago, as well as i speed walk occasionally and ride my bike and use my elipitcal machine (all occasionally). I also use a thigh master (maybe that pinched a nerve?
