1032669 tn?1252456404 Yeah, I'm one of the lucky ones with varicose veins too :-( I have a few on my legs that look and feel like raised bruises, and my labia is swollen too. My obgyn said it's not uncommon and that, unfortunately, it will just continue to get worse until delivery...as the weight of your uterus (and baby) increases and puts more pressure on the veins. Oh well, it's all worth it for a healthy baby!

The good news is that the bulk of these changes reverse after delivery. The best thing to do during the pregnancy is to wear support hose. The gentle compression negates much of the stasis and minimizes the symptoms.

Avatar f tn Hi all, so I'm 21 weeks tomorrow with my 3rd Peruzz pregnancy. Twice now, I have been woken up by an awful stabbing cramp in my left leg. When I bend down to feel where the pain is, I can feel a knot of muscle which doesn't go until I stretch it out. This knot appears where I have varicose veins. (The varicose veins are non pregnancy related) I now prop a pillow behind me to prevent this happening.
Avatar m tn Varicose veins are veins that have become enlarged and tortuous. The term commonly refers to the veins on the leg, although varicose veins can occur elsewhere.

Avatar m tn Hi I'm a 34 YO guy who has been experiencing a bit of discomfort from Veins varicose on my feet. For the context, I'm 1.84 cm tall, 72 kg and in reasonably good shape. Since I was young I've always had the veins on my feet a bit pronounced (like bigger than the average), as the time went by tho these veins have grown and now I'm starting feeling a bit of discomfort (not pain but like the feeling of slightly tingling).
Avatar n tn This year in May I stopped taking the birth control pills and a couple months later I noticed on my legs bulging varicose veins. The onset seemed to be quite sudden. Could the fact that I stopped taking the birth control pills caused the sudden onset of the varicose veins?
1138687 tn?1548643978 Hi, I am wondering why there isn't a varicose veins forum!? Where else might I post my varicose veins concerns? I posted in the Deep Vein Thrombosis forum but noticed it is rarely used. I'm not certain but isn't DVT a result of varicose veins? And if varicose veins are more common, with DVT being a side affect, then Why not change that forum to Varicose Veins? Regardless shouldn't there be a forum for varicose veins?
Avatar n tn i always have pain only on the right side of my prostrate and the right leg and lower right side of my back and hip. the varicose veins are on the right side of my penis to and my right leg behind my nee. i am starting to wonder if my whole problem might be some kind of stricture some were in my pelvis on the right side. and im getting very worried about these varicose veins poping up on my leg does this make any sence to anyone reading this.

Indeed, treatment may be invasive (surgical) or noninvasive which include sclerotherapy, laser ablation, radiofrequency ablation and a lot more. However, it is best that you confirm the diagnosis with your physician and discuss the best option for you.
Avatar n tn Hello, The varicose vein on the penis does not require any treatment. It may bruise during sexual intercourse and thus wearing of a condom is highly recommended. Also use of lubricants is recommended during masturbation or during sexual intercourse to avoid bruising the vein. Avatar f tn Varicose veins are gnarled, enlarged veins. Any vein may become varicose, but the veins most commonly affected are those in your legs and feet. That's because standing and walking upright increases the pressure in the veins of your lower body. Sometimes varicose veins lead to more-serious problems. Varicose veins may also signal a higher risk of other circulatory problems. Treatment may involve self-care measures or procedures by your doctor to close or remove veins.
Avatar m tn I had an extremely serious case of varicose veins. On the inner sie of each ankle was a sack of blackish stagnant blood, a horror to look at. The skin was thinning and close to rupturing. At some point I adding liquid trace minerals to my drinking water, with no purpose in mind other than adding to my general health. I put one tablespoon in each gallon of filtered water. I also added 16 drops of BioSil.
Avatar n tn Note that when you have laser treatment it destroys the veins so the blood will go to other veins and the problem will most likely return.
Avatar f tn Lately I’ve notice veins on my inner calf bulging out where I can feel them on my skin and they somewhat twist... as well as being able to feel my femoral vein running down my inner thigh to my knee cap, which I’m not sure if it’s normal to be able to feel that vein on the skin or not. But I’ve been having inner thigh pain and calf pain when I walk. Is this a serious issue or just common with varicose veins? I’m thinking about seeing my PC doc.
Avatar f tn I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I'm new here and I can't find a page that fits what I'm asking better. Recently, I've noticed that a lot of the veins on my feet are popping out. I am a 17 year old female, a little overweight, with no health issues to date (not even high blood pressure.) I'm not sure what this is, and I'm really starting to freak out.
Avatar f tn This pregnancy i have developed some varicose veins. I have one that is protruding on my left inner calf and is right on top of bad spider vein. It is tender to the touch and i can feel a little discomfort walking up and down stairs. Is this normal or could it actually be a blood clot? It is not warm to the touch just painful and tender.
