Lately I’ve notice veins on my inner calf bulging out where I can feel them on my skin and they somewhat twist... as well as being able to feel my femoral vein running down my inner thigh to my knee cap, which I’m not sure if it’s normal to be able to feel that vein on the skin or not. But I’ve been having inner thigh pain and calf pain when I walk. Is this a serious issue or just common with varicose veins? I’m thinking about seeing my PC doc.

i have notice that both my shins has swollen veins, it seem worse after jogging for ? are they deep vein thrombosis? what treament? can i still jogging?

I am 47 and have had varicose veins since my 20s! I had my first 'stripping' surgery when I was approx. 24. Over the years I've had sclerotherapy several times with varying degrees of success. Two years ago I underwent the new form of surgery with the laser to remove more of my large protruding veins. My question is, how many veins can be removed, destroyed before I don't have enough left? And why do they keep popping out?

Most concerning is that my better leg is now showing them on my thigh (above my knee and traveling up toward my groin. I noticed this because my legs began hurting from all the HEAVY LIFTING every day on the farm. And when I checked them out I had no idea that my thigh would be this bad. I already committed to half time this winter on the farm and my boss is relying on me, and we were envisioning me staying longer term, but now I just want to leave, and end my career as a physical laborer.

I have one behind my knee and it almost buldges out a little and feels like a bruise, I think its just a varicose vein :/ I did read that pregnant people are at a high risk to develop them due to the massive increase in blood volume, and that most will go away after the birth. No physical activity recently, just this nagging pain. I looked and there is a small dark blue vein on the back of my knee. You can't see any other veins just this one, it's not a spider vein, normal sized just very blue. Is this a sign of a DVT or possibly just a forming varicose vein?

If the bump is flesh colored and over a vein, it can be just a varicose vein (especially if you have varicose veins on other places on your body). Age is not a factor, from teens to older adults can get varicose veins on the penis or scrotum (and other places). These type of varicose veins can range in size with most the size of a BB or smaller (or bigger). Inspect it closely. If it seems to follow or be "on top" of a vein, this is probably what you have.

About 3 years ago I had a sharp pain in my right leg I look doen only to find my vien above my knee had swelled up and I had a sharp pain that lasted about 15 min but the swollen vien stayed that way for about 45min. My RMT pointed out a very unusual vein on my calf yesterday that I hadn’t noticed before. It’s not painful at all but scary looking. It’s about 8” long, varies in width from half an inch to 3/4 of an inch. The centre part of it is a deep red, and it’s is outlined in a dark purple-ish shade. It runs vertically up my calf, and then branches into a 2nd line. As far as I know, it doesn’t appear to be a varicose vein because there is no swelling or pain at all. Thank you for your advice.

I had a doppler ultrasound today. Everything is fine with my leg apart from the varicose veins. The doctor said I should not worry about the discoloration. It can go away if he removes the varicose veins, but it can stay too.

For me they started the veins were more visible in my inner thighs before I saw the battle of the down under and down under they snake in and I could tell it was not a swollen muscle. I have difficulties walking whenvthe veins are acting up.
