I've dealt with varicose veins with all 3 of my pregnancies. It will get worse as your pregnancy progresses. I wear compression socks all day every day except when I'm sleeping. It helps with the heaviness and pain. They get significantly better after birth. Also if you exercise regularly and don't gain too much that helps keep them in control too.
I've been on the Nuva Ring for almost two and a half years. My whole family is very fair-skinned, so I've always had very visible veins my whole life. I read that pregnancy ones go away after birth but its the pain and swelling now and effect on natural birth. Also somewhere said they start inside so am sure am construction site there-(. If the bump is flesh colored and over a vein, it can be just a varicose vein (especially if you have varicose veins on other places on your body). Age is not a factor, from teens to older adults can get varicose veins on the penis or scrotum (and other places).
These type of varicose veins can range in size with most the size of a BB or smaller (or bigger). Inspect it closely. If it seems to follow or be "on top" of a vein, this is probably what you have.

Being obese is a risk factor and losing weight would likely help a multitude of things in your life. That's never easy but something that would be very beneficial to work on. I have just begun a new birth control pill after some problems with my hormone levels and am also on the end of my recent period - could this be causing it? I read that it can if you are on the pill and have imbalanced hormones - such as being pregnant or on your period. Will they fade or disappear when my hormone levels are balanced? Or will they remain for as long as I am on the pill?

Well I have pitting edema in my legs and a varicose in one, lots of spider veins..I have some major swelling and itching that's mostly at night...when I walk you can see the water move in my legs..the doc has given me water pills,and seems to do no good..I also get numb fingers,but I don't know if the two go hand in hand..I'm 28 years old...5'1 and 184 lbs I would love to walk and work out but my legs just don't have the strength..Please help..Thank You..
hello! i jus wanted to ask ... i was prescribed birth control pills a few months ago due to my hormonal imbalance. this is my 5th month that im having it. i was just worried about embolism since i heard that these pills may cause clots and sudden death. i have a few varicose veins but since ive started havin these pills my overall health has improved remarkably.

My most disturbing symptom is lightheadedness, which has been coming and going since October 2015 (a year ago), when I was forced to switch to birth control pills instead of the birth control patch (no longer profitable for the pharmacies to carry it, so I was forced to switch). At the same time of the switch to teh bcp was when the lightheadedness and dark menstrual blood & excess menstrual clots started and it hasn't changed since.
when i first had a problem with it i had a large varicose vein on my penis that was 3 years ago. i have just noticed a varicose vein on my right leg that has seemed to just show up with this last flare up. i always have pain only on the right side of my prostrate and the right leg and lower right side of my back and hip. the varicose veins are on the right side of my penis to and my right leg behind my nee.
