Do you have varicose veins by chance? If so and your leg is hot to touch and the pain is real bad, I would ask a doctor about it, could be what I get.

I am not sure if I have varicose veins or not. I am around 50 lbs overweight and 6 1/2 weeks pregnant. My legs are aching really bad from the knees to my ankles. I do have some small prominent blue bulging veins near the surface, but they have been there for years and never hurt. Can a person have them so deep that you can't see it? I fell last week and have some very deep and large contusions on the front of my right leg. My calves seem to be slightly swollen, but my ankles are normal.

Okay so the other night my leg started throbbing :( and it hurts to move my ankle and bend my leg. It hurts to stand or straighten.. I did some looking online and I'm pretty sure I have a varicose vein :( I don't know what to do.. Should I go to an urgent care or ER or hold it off tilmy appointment Monday? What can I do to relieve the pain? Have anyone had one before? Is this a varicose vein? Or you think something else..? Help!

When I lean against something (like the bathroom vanity), it feels like a big bruise. These are not spider veins or varicose. They look like normal veins except that they're very noticable and only on the upper region of my right thigh. I wouldn't be worried about them except for the fact that they feel like a bruise. Any ideas?

i always have pain only on the right side of my prostrate and the right leg and lower right side of my back and hip. the varicose veins are on the right side of my penis to and my right leg behind my nee. i am starting to wonder if my whole problem might be some kind of stricture some were in my pelvis on the right side. and im getting very worried about these varicose veins poping up on my leg does this make any sence to anyone reading this.

You can get clots. I thought i had one and they did a ultrasound on my leg. The symptoms of a clot however are hot to touch spot on leg, the leg would be noticeably more swollen than the other, and there would be pain in the leg. However, varicose veins can hurt too. I wouldn't worry just have your Dr. look at it. If your leg gets really swollen or starts to have pain call your Dr.

Varicose veins usually result from failures in valves in veins connecting the superficial veins to the deep system in your legs. This is a mechanical problem. No medicine can restore this function. Horse chestnut extracts have been studied and appear to decrease the swelling due to venous insufficiency but the appearance is unchanged.

Has anyone else suffered from vaginal varicose veins this is my 3rd pregnancy and I'm 27 weeks.

The thing that makes it worse in I have suffered with varicose veins in my legs which I have had treated but they seem to be coming back very quickly and I’m sure the dilation of my leg veins is accelerating this. If I am calm and feeling good I get no pain in my legs and feet but if I’m worked up I get pains in the arch of my foot and inside of my ankle below the bone, I also get a sensation in my feet of having things in my shoe mildly pressing in to my foot.

Thanks, doctornee medical. Wasn't aware varicose veins occurred in the arms. I've added "no veins showing, no discoloration" to my text description, also. Have been checked for diabetes. Am following up on your suggestion of hypothyroidism.

Was there a previous injury to your leg? Do you feel it during walking and relieved by resting? Leg pain can be due to a muscle cramp, an injury, atherosclerosis that blocks blood flow in the arteries, blood clot from prolonged bed rest, infection of the bone, inflammation of the leg joints by arthritis or gout, varicose veins, or nerve damage due to diabetes, smoking or alcohol drinking. Try to rest as much as possible and elevate your leg.

It sure sounds like a varicose vein to me. Unfortunately those are super common during pregnancy. As long as your not feeling pain in your leg I wouldn't worry about it :) You could always call your doctors office just to be 100% Try not to worry, I got them too during my 1st pregnancy.

The leg vein issue the way you describe is that of varicose veins. Because you are experiencing pain in the calf muscle, you should make an urgent appointment to see your doctor to rule out deep vein thrombosis. The doctor will listen to the leg and can arrange to get your blood tested with regard to that - this is called a Doppler test. He will also be able to confirm whether it is varicose veins that you have and what can be done about them.

I thought I had a clot, and that is a sign. Do you have any pain in the bigger leg, or varicose veins that look different?

About 3 years ago I had a sharp pain in my right leg I look doen only to find my vien above my knee had swelled up and I had a sharp pain that lasted about 15 min but the swollen vien stayed that way for about 45min. The next day I had a huge bruse. This happened agian on my left leg so I went to the doctors as I have a hole in my heart and thought it might have something to do with my circulation...

If that is your concern also, there are signs that could indicate you have a clot somewhere along the vein (typically clots will be behind the knee in leg veins). If you notice your affected leg is red, swollen and tender then I would definitely call the doctor. I have an appointment tomorrow and plan on mentioning my vein issue, but I am pretty sure its just what it looks like, a wonderful varicose vein. I never got them with my other pregnancies so this is new territory for me.

This might be varicose veins which is a fairly common condition and usually simply cosmetic rather than of a health concern. Not always though, but often. i have alot of pain in my left shin with small swellings ,like my veins arepopping out, also my left foot willcramp and my toes curl under.

I never knew the pooling of blood in this leg from the varicose veins contributed to my leg cramps, but apparently that was my culprit.

I had a doppler ultrasound today. Everything is fine with my leg apart from the varicose veins. The doctor said I should not worry about the discoloration. It can go away if he removes the varicose veins, but it can stay too.

Surgery only cause depending on the person they can cause bad leg cramps. Nothing major... but yea legs cramps are a pain in the butt.

The vein valves weaken or are damaged causing blood to backflow. If your varicose veins are causing you pain or discomfort, it is best that you have this evaluated by your doctor for proper management. Endothermal ablation, sclerotherapy, and even phlebectomy may be indicated. Compression stockings may also help improve the circulation in the legs.
