Avatar f tn I wanted to know if varicose veins will diminish after pregnancy especially in genitals?
20812737 tn?1519267696 59 year old male with varicose veins in both legs. I am traveling in Asia and only have sleeves that cover from the ankle protrusions to just below the knee. I will only have regular socks and running shoes for my feet. I had pretty bad swelling of the foot and ankle for about ten days after the flights over here. Would it be a good idea to put those compression sleeves on before beginning the 25 hour travel marathon to return home to the usa?
Avatar n tn I've got varicose veins this time my doc told me to get compression socks but they are expensive! For those of you who have had them do the socks help? I don't want to spend all that money on them if its not gonna help.
Avatar f tn I've dealt with varicose veins with all 3 of my pregnancies. It will get worse as your pregnancy progresses. I wear compression socks all day every day except when I'm sleeping. It helps with the heaviness and pain. They get significantly better after birth. Also if you exercise regularly and don't gain too much that helps keep them in control too.
Avatar f tn Hello, sorry about he delay in answering your question. Inner thigh pain and groin pain are common with varicose veins. Also, calf pain is included in that. Please see your doctor if you have not already. Let us know if you have seen them and what they have said. Here is an older question about this answered by a MedHelp doctor https://www.medhelp.org/posts/Blood-Disorders/Varicose-veins---inner-thigh-pain-/show/2027668 Here is some basic information on the condition as a whole.
Avatar m tn Hello and welcome to the forum. Thank you for the question. We're sorry your wife has this concern. This might be varicose veins which is a fairly common condition and usually simply cosmetic rather than of a health concern. Not always though, but often. Here's some information on it. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/varicose-veins/symptoms-causes/syc-20350643 An important question is if your wife has any pain or discomfort?
Avatar f tn My doc recommended getting some compression tights of socks to help with my abundance of varicose veins, especially with my line of work. Any mamas out there have any suggestions for what kind to get and where to purchase them?
Avatar f tn Hello and welcome to the forum! We're glad you are here and appreciate your question. So, while it may not be a varicose vein, it can still be what they call a 'bulging vein'. " Bulging veins are prominent, enlarged veins that often appear blue or purple. They’re easy to see because they’re superficial veins close to the surface of your skin and typically occur on show up in your legs, feet, ankles and hands.
Avatar f tn org/diseases-conditions/varicose-veins/symptoms-causes/syc-20350643. Basically, weak or damaged valves lead to varicose veins. Being obese is a risk factor and losing weight would likely help a multitude of things in your life. That's never easy but something that would be very beneficial to work on. Sitting for prolonged periods of time also contribute to varicose veins. You are a young man and this should be a priority for your health.
1138687 tn?1548643978 Hi, I am looking for support for my varicose veins! I have what would be considered a pretty severe case and I'm only 31 and male. I've had them since youth, but after all the chaos in my life in that past 5 yrs, I haven't been in touch with my body as much as usual!
2020005 tn?1628125976 If that is your concern also, there are signs that could indicate you have a clot somewhere along the vein (typically clots will be behind the knee in leg veins). If you notice your affected leg is red, swollen and tender then I would definitely call the doctor. I have an appointment tomorrow and plan on mentioning my vein issue, but I am pretty sure its just what it looks like, a wonderful varicose vein. I never got them with my other pregnancies so this is new territory for me.
Avatar f tn Hello~If you haven't already done so, I would make an appointment to see your GP, it may not be serious, but then again, it could be a circulation issue that needs to be taken care of.
Avatar f tn Lately the area behind my knee and my thigh have been aching. No physical activity recently, just this nagging pain. I looked and there is a small dark blue vein on the back of my knee. You can't see any other veins just this one, it's not a spider vein, normal sized just very blue. Is this a sign of a DVT or possibly just a forming varicose vein?
Avatar f tn Hello, Common causes of ankle and feet edema(swelling)include ankle sprain or a fracture, gout (accumulation of uric acid crystals within the fluid of your ankle),ankle arthritis, infection (cellulitis or septic joint), problems with blood flow like DVT, obesity, and varicose veins.
Avatar m tn Thanks for your advice. They checked to see if my blood wasl clotting is that what you mean by platelet count? I don't think it's from varicose veins. I had the same feeling agian today it seems when I do alot of physical activity my legs feel like some one is giving them charlie horses?
Avatar f tn In response to your question, the varicose veins are blown out veins carrying blood backwards and adding to the burden of the normal veins. Getting them out of the system lightens the load on the normal ones. The only exception is when the deep venous system is occluded and the varicosity is the only way blood can return to the heart. This should be obvious with an appropriate duplex doppler study.
Avatar m tn The only visible symptoms are the enlarged veins on the penis and prominent varicose veins around my right knee and some prominent varicose behind my left knee (I think I have never had varicose problems prior to this). Is this all stress-related or a possible STD? I have been to see my doctor in week 3 and I am currently waiting on tests for Hep A, Hep B, Syphillis and HIV. The doctor did not feel the need to test for anything else after his examination.
Avatar n tn Thanks, doctornee medical. Wasn't aware varicose veins occurred in the arms. I've added "no veins showing, no discoloration" to my text description, also. Have been checked for diabetes. Am following up on your suggestion of hypothyroidism.
Avatar m tn Not really. I haven't noticed any weird colors except the blue varicose veins every so often. When it's cold outside or in the room, my feet are cold regardless of how many socks I put on. Heating pads and space heaters don't really satisfy the cold feeling, though they do help some. Infrared socks and silver socks have not worked for me and I know raynauds people supposedly have had some luck with them.
Avatar f tn Ive had VV before i was pregnant and is an occupational hazard. Now its become worse. The veins on the back of my knee show and are tortous. I cant lie on my side coZ i feel like my leg veins are being squished. Does anyone feel the same.
Avatar m tn I get pronounced veins below the knee from time to time it goes away. is this due to my blood sugar levels.
9964830 tn?1422448835 I never thought varicose veins could feel this way
Avatar n tn If the condition is local and not systemic the most common local conditions that cause edema are varicose veins and thrombophlebitis (inflammation of the veins) of the deep veins of the legs. These conditions can cause inadequate pumping of the blood by the veins (venous insufficiency). The resulting increased back-pressure in the veins forces fluid stay in the extremities (especially the ankles and feet). The excess fluid then leaks into the interstitial tissue spaces, causing edema.
