Avatar f tn org/diseases-conditions/varicose-veins/symptoms-causes/syc-20350643. Basically, weak or damaged valves lead to varicose veins. Being obese is a risk factor and losing weight would likely help a multitude of things in your life. That's never easy but something that would be very beneficial to work on. Sitting for prolonged periods of time also contribute to varicose veins. You are a young man and this should be a priority for your health.
Avatar f tn Ive had VV before i was pregnant and is an occupational hazard. Now its become worse. The veins on the back of my knee show and are tortous. I cant lie on my side coZ i feel like my leg veins are being squished. Does anyone feel the same.
Avatar f tn Gonna try compression stockings for my varicose veins....does anybody have any other suggestions?
Avatar f tn Hello~If you haven't already done so, I would make an appointment to see your GP, it may not be serious, but then again, it could be a circulation issue that needs to be taken care of.
Avatar f tn I'm 24 weeks pregnant, and i have recently noticed varicose veins from my right leg, to my heel. is it normal to feel lots of blood rushing from my knee to my foot? And that being the only spot in either of my two legs. Sometimes my leg hurts so much I can't even walk on it, and other days its fine. I told my doctor and he keeps telling me its a Charlie horse in my leg, and I have had them and it doesn't feel like that , please give me a second opinion!
Avatar f tn Also ask your doctor about compression stockings. They're tight knee high stockings that improve the blood flow in your legs. They are a god send and they also reduce the swelling to come and the varicose/spider veins that everyone hates! I'm a nurse on my feet all day and without them I wouldn't be able to work!
20812737 tn?1519267696 59 year old male with varicose veins in both legs. I am traveling in Asia and only have sleeves that cover from the ankle protrusions to just below the knee. I will only have regular socks and running shoes for my feet. I had pretty bad swelling of the foot and ankle for about ten days after the flights over here. Would it be a good idea to put those compression sleeves on before beginning the 25 hour travel marathon to return home to the usa?
1138687 tn?1548643978 Hi, I am looking for support for my varicose veins! I have what would be considered a pretty severe case and I'm only 31 and male. I've had them since youth, but after all the chaos in my life in that past 5 yrs, I haven't been in touch with my body as much as usual!
Avatar f tn I also have a very painful AVM. All my life I was under the belief that they were varicose veins only. Turns out, I have my entire lower left leg with AVM and varicose veins. Needless to say, I am in constant pain. I have gone to different specialist and I have gotten the same response: cannot be fixed.
Avatar n tn This year in May I stopped taking the birth control pills and a couple months later I noticed on my legs bulging varicose veins. The onset seemed to be quite sudden. Could the fact that I stopped taking the birth control pills caused the sudden onset of the varicose veins?
Avatar f tn Seems like we share a few common things besides varicose veins. Only discovered I was preg at 14 weeks and am 27 weeks now and wld really want vbac but read somewhere saying they usually start inside so was also worried about obstruction of baby.
Avatar f tn If you walk around in your job try getting compression stockings.
8973366 tn?1406016708 I am on my third pregnancy and have varicose veins and spider veins so badly that I was pulled off work at 6 months pregnant. They look horrible and are incredibly painful but they did fade after I had the baby. I only have them on my right leg from the weight and pressure of where the baby is sitting.I am currently on modified bed rest to control the pain as well. I would recommend a compression stocking and you can try accupuncture as well.
Avatar f tn My legs ache all the time and my varicose veins have been hurting. Why are they hurting so early? Is this normal?
936197 tn?1268663065 Hey everyone, we are getting really close and hope everyone is doing well, as for me I had my 30 week check up and my dr said no working for me, my legs are so messed up with Varicose veins I have to start wearing a support belt and full stockings. That sound fun!!! Even when I am at home in bed!!!!She said everthing else was good and I am now going every 2 weeks. 9062499 tn?1426957962 Ouch: getting annoyed with these varicose veins. They wont let me stand for more than 10 mins. Any mommies out there who knows how to deal with them? I would really appreciate it.
Avatar f tn This pregnancy i have developed some varicose veins. I have one that is protruding on my left inner calf and is right on top of bad spider vein. It is tender to the touch and i can feel a little discomfort walking up and down stairs. Is this normal or could it actually be a blood clot? It is not warm to the touch just painful and tender.
Avatar f tn I've dealt with varicose veins with all 3 of my pregnancies. It will get worse as your pregnancy progresses. I wear compression socks all day every day except when I'm sleeping. It helps with the heaviness and pain. They get significantly better after birth. Also if you exercise regularly and don't gain too much that helps keep them in control too.
Avatar f tn I a 30 years old I currently have terrible varicose veins in both upper legs running down to my feet. I am on hospital waiting list but it's three years and as i have no money to go private I have to just bear it. I wear compression stockings most days. The problem is I am a boxer in training and every time I train the veins get worse. Every night I extend my feet up to let the blood flow back down.
Avatar n tn I have just found out about this pump called the VENOWAVE when I was getting compression stockings for my varicose vains. When I was looking into it on their website I saw some stuff on DVT. Might want to take a look at it. Have you also tried the compression stockings?
10404685 tn?1418830427 Yep. Gotta love the extra weight of baby and pressure on the veins! I have varicose veins in my legs and my vagina. It's really unattravtive and is constantly swollen unless I'm lying down. And of course comes the pain and heaviness too. Ugh. I'm just glad I don't have them around my butt hole.
Avatar n tn Your symptoms may be related to a vascular issue rather than a neurologic one. Specifically, varicose veins can cause a burning or pain in the feet and behind the knees that is felt less during movement. Most often, bulging veins will be visible on the legs. This is more likely if you stand a lot; treatment is with compression stockings, leg elevation, and sometimes there are injection or surgical treatments available.
2020005 tn?1628125976 / I did read that pregnant people are at a high risk to develop them due to the massive increase in blood volume, and that most will go away after the birth. What are your concerns about the vein? Since Im a nurse, my first thought was oh crap, hopefully its not a DVT!! If that is your concern also, there are signs that could indicate you have a clot somewhere along the vein (typically clots will be behind the knee in leg veins).
Avatar f tn Hello, sorry about he delay in answering your question. Inner thigh pain and groin pain are common with varicose veins. Also, calf pain is included in that. Please see your doctor if you have not already. Let us know if you have seen them and what they have said. Here is an older question about this answered by a MedHelp doctor https://www.medhelp.org/posts/Blood-Disorders/Varicose-veins---inner-thigh-pain-/show/2027668 Here is some basic information on the condition as a whole.
