Avatar m tn What i am going to do with this varicose veins in my hands? how to erase it?
Avatar f tn org/health/diseases/22877-bulging-veins It may actually still be varicose veins which is common in 1 in 3 adults. For most people, a bulging vein is truly harmless. Unsightly, perhaps. But won't hurt you. But for a rare few, blood clots would be the concern. The article gives situations in which these are more common. Being overweight, smoking, recent pregnancy or hormonal changes, intense exercise, dieting or simply getting older are all listed as triggering to this occurring.
Avatar m tn The veins just below the skin in the arms and legs are unsupported by adjacent muscle tissue and are more prone to expansion due to pressure. The greatest influence is gravity. This is most evident by its cause for varicose veins....the valves in the legs are there to keep the blood from pooling due to gravity, however over time they begin to leak and the resulting pooling of blood results in greatly expanded veins. This effect is less prominent in the arms for a variety of reasons...
155701 tn?1230047101 When I lean against something (like the bathroom vanity), it feels like a big bruise. These are not spider veins or varicose. They look like normal veins except that they're very noticable and only on the upper region of my right thigh. I wouldn't be worried about them except for the fact that they feel like a bruise. Any ideas?
Avatar f tn Hi Venous pooling means blood collects in the deep veins. The main reason is faulty valves of the deep veins of the leg. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
229857 tn?1319029907 What about varicose veins? Varicose veins are not dangerous, and they are NOT thrombophlebitis. Varicose veins are a problem with gravity and the weight of the baby on the drainage of superficial veins back up toward the heart. Varicose veins are mere engorgements of these structures and have nothing to do with clots in the deep veins of the legs. Although they can hurt, they don't present as the danger that deep blood clots are.
Avatar m tn Varicose veins usually result from failures in valves in veins connecting the superficial veins to the deep system in your legs. This is a mechanical problem. No medicine can restore this function. Horse chestnut extracts have been studied and appear to decrease the swelling due to venous insufficiency but the appearance is unchanged.
Avatar m tn This appears to be due to incompetent valves in deep veins of hands or varicose veins. You need to consult a surgeon for examination. You will have to undergo a duplex ultrasound of the veins to confirm the diagnosis. Hyperhidrosis, raynaud’s phenomenon are other possibilities and connective tissue disorders like scleroderma, polymyositis, rheumatoid arthritis, SLE etc. will have to be checked for. Hope this helps. Take care.
1032669 tn?1252456404 Yeah, I'm one of the lucky ones with varicose veins too :-( I have a few on my legs that look and feel like raised bruises, and my labia is swollen too. My obgyn said it's not uncommon and that, unfortunately, it will just continue to get worse until delivery...as the weight of your uterus (and baby) increases and puts more pressure on the veins. Oh well, it's all worth it for a healthy baby!
Avatar f tn Have you been checked for vericocele veins in your testicles?
Avatar m tn If they start enlarging (less likely) get an evaluation for varicose veins penis. The varicose vein on the penis does not require any treatment. It may bruise during sexual intercourse and thus wearing of a condom is highly recommended. Also use of lubricants is recommended during masturbation or during sexual intercourse to avoid bruising the vein. No other treatment is required. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
1138687 tn?1548643978 Hi, I am wondering why there isn't a varicose veins forum!? Where else might I post my varicose veins concerns? I posted in the Deep Vein Thrombosis forum but noticed it is rarely used. I'm not certain but isn't DVT a result of varicose veins? And if varicose veins are more common, with DVT being a side affect, then Why not change that forum to Varicose Veins? Regardless shouldn't there be a forum for varicose veins?
Avatar n tn This year in May I stopped taking the birth control pills and a couple months later I noticed on my legs bulging varicose veins. The onset seemed to be quite sudden. Could the fact that I stopped taking the birth control pills caused the sudden onset of the varicose veins?
Avatar f tn Just recently the right leg has started to develop noticeable veins in the back of the calf as well as the inside of the thigh. Not to bad yet though but is definitely getting worse. I also have noticed vericose veins in adomen. 2 veins, one coming up each side. They also seem to be growing slowly. I also have very prominent veins in my arms, hands and feet. My legs and feet get very soar when I stand still and I almost always need to put my feet up after walking.
4437866 tn?1388119624 I know what varicose vein look like. Got them on my boobies but I was putting lotion on AMD looked at my hand and holy cow! These are not vaeicose veins but my normal veins I never see and they arebright blue all over the palm of my hands.. is this normal?
Avatar n tn Note that when you have laser treatment it destroys the veins so the blood will go to other veins and the problem will most likely return.
1580703 tn?1651904887 Varicose veins occur when the valves do not function properly, allowing blood to remain in the vein. This usually occurs in the veins of the legs but it may occur elsewhere. Indeed, treatment may be invasive (surgical) or noninvasive which include sclerotherapy, laser ablation, radiofrequency ablation and a lot more. However, it is best that you confirm the diagnosis with your physician and discuss the best option for you.
Avatar f tn I thought I had a clot, and that is a sign. Do you have any pain in the bigger leg, or varicose veins that look different?
2020005 tn?1628125976 Hey there, i just want to say dnp47 that was a wonderful post! thank you! I agree, I would show it to the doctor. At least just so they are updated on whats going on with your body. I also have heard, if it doesn't go away after the baby, that apple cider vinegar (with the mother in it) can be applied to the area to help varicose veins. I haven't had any to see if it works yet on myself but if you are curious to try its an idea to look up and try.
Avatar f tn Hello, Varicose veins are veins that have become enlarged and twisted. Varicose veins are common in the superficial veins of the legs, which are subject to high pressure when standing. Besides cosmetic problems, varicose veins are often painful, especially when standing or walking. They are often diagnosed based simply on the appearance of the veins.Confirmatory tests are Doppler ultrasound and angiogram. You can get it confirmed from a vascular surgeon and after getting these tests done.
Avatar f tn Of late I have noticed the veins in my hands and feet bulging out sometimes - this has happened before in the past but seems to be happening more often now and I'm wondering what is causing it? Also, veins are beginning to show on my calfs and shins - small blue ones- close to the skins surface. Sometimes I can see a lot of them round my chest arms and legs but they sometimes fade away then come back... but the ones I found on my calfs and shins seem to stay.
Avatar f tn Hello, sorry about he delay in answering your question. Inner thigh pain and groin pain are common with varicose veins. Also, calf pain is included in that. Please see your doctor if you have not already. Let us know if you have seen them and what they have said. Here is an older question about this answered by a MedHelp doctor https://www.medhelp.org/posts/Blood-Disorders/Varicose-veins---inner-thigh-pain-/show/2027668 Here is some basic information on the condition as a whole.
