Avatar n tn http://www.patient.co.uk/showdoc/23068876/ “Normally, you cannot see or feel the veins in the spermatic cord that carry the blood from the testes. If you have a varicocele, the veins become bigger (they enlarge or dilate) and this makes them more prominent. It is similar to varicose veins of the legs. The size of a varicocele can vary. A large varicocele is sometimes said to look and feel like 'a bag of worms' in the scrotum.” I would suggest you see a surgeon at the earliest.
Avatar m tn A minimally invasive radiological procedure called embolization can, in most cases, correct the problem. Correcting varicose veins in scrotum boosts sperm count, motility. Go here : http://www.bio-medicine.org/medicine-news-1/Simple-Procedure-Improves-Male-Fertility-24302-1/ You can do exercises but not weights. Discuss the treatment modalities near a surgeon as it varies from case to case.
Avatar n tn A painful testicle mass in one or both testicles may be due to epididymitis, infection of the scrotal sac, orchitis (testicular infection), testicular torsion, spermatocele (a cyst-like mass within the scrotum that contains fluid and dead sperm cells) or varicocele (a varicose vein along the spermatic cord). A testicular lump that does not hurt may be a sign of cancer. Most cases of testicular cancer occur when men are between ages 15 and 40, although it can happen at older or younger ages.
Avatar f tn My theory is that when you wonder about something especially regarding your crown jewels/testicles, that it is good to see a doctor and get examined. You probably have retractile testicles. This is when the testicle moves back and forth between the scrotum and the groin. However, what is throwing me off is that it just started with you and you aren't a baby. It's usually a young person problem that goes away. What causes it then is an overactive muscle.
Avatar m tn There is no evidence of the hydrocele. Dilated veins measuring up to 3.2 mm in diameter are present in the left scrotal sac. IMPRESSION Left epididymal cyst. Left varicocele.
757137 tn?1347196453 A few years ago my varicose veins had become so bad that I had a sac of purplish-black blood hanging from each ankle. Very scary to look at. The veins were on the verge of ulcerating. They have since been cured without vein ligations or injections. I started using BioSil (a bioavailable form of silicon). (I also started adding trace minerals to my water, but don't think this was a factor.) After about a year my feet returned to normal. One note: you have to be patient.
155701 tn?1230047101 When I lean against something (like the bathroom vanity), it feels like a big bruise. These are not spider veins or varicose. They look like normal veins except that they're very noticable and only on the upper region of my right thigh. I wouldn't be worried about them except for the fact that they feel like a bruise. Any ideas?
Avatar m tn Hemorroids and varicose veins are related conditions. I suffered the latter. At their worst I had a sac of purple stagnant blood on each ankle, The skin was paper thin and on the verge of ulcerating. It was a horrible sight. It was quite by accident that I found a cure. At some point I added liquid trace minerals to my drinking water because I didn't want to be bothered with pills. I also added BioSil (a bioavailable for of silicon).
Avatar m tn Hi, At this point, what you have may be a varicose vein (this is the most likely differential that comes to mind). Varicose veins in the penis rarely involve the head.Varicose veins are simply engorged superficial veins that may be noted even when the penis is flaccid. Without pain, redness, change in urinary pattern ,there seems to be no indication for further intervention. A penile ultrasound may help exclude a blood clot.
Avatar m tn Varicose veins usually result from failures in valves in veins connecting the superficial veins to the deep system in your legs. This is a mechanical problem. No medicine can restore this function. Horse chestnut extracts have been studied and appear to decrease the swelling due to venous insufficiency but the appearance is unchanged.
Avatar n tn Hi. Can you give additional descriptions of that lump? Is it painful or tender to touch? Is the skin around it firm and red? It's hard for me to say what that lump in your scrotal sac is, since I haven't actually seen it. The scrotal sac has a lot of ridges, and it could just be that. It could also be an infected hair follicle. If it's bothering you, you should go to a doctor and have it properly examined.
1138687 tn?1548643978 Hi, I am wondering why there isn't a varicose veins forum!? Where else might I post my varicose veins concerns? I posted in the Deep Vein Thrombosis forum but noticed it is rarely used. I'm not certain but isn't DVT a result of varicose veins? And if varicose veins are more common, with DVT being a side affect, then Why not change that forum to Varicose Veins? Regardless shouldn't there be a forum for varicose veins?
Avatar n tn If you already have varicose veins you may have some doubts about taking birth control pills. If your varicose veins are mild and are not a symptom of a more serious condition, your doctor may agree to prescribe a low-dose estrogen pill. In this case it's up to you to decide what your priorities are. You may feel that the advantages of taking the pill outweigh the risk of varicose veins. That said I doubt if taking the pill would stop the problem! Ask the doctor for his/her opinion.
Avatar n tn Hi, Needless to remind you that you need to talk to your doctor, a cardiologist. If the varicose vein is in the legs, I understand that laser treatment is possible. Please google for ' laser treatment for varicose veins ' for more details.
Avatar n tn Pain in the foot may be due to diabetes, nerve root compression, varicose veins etc.You should seek an expert opinion to find out the cause.Unless a physical examination is done it is difficult to comment upon.
1580703 tn?1651904887 If you have varicose veins in your legs can you also have them in your head or lungs? what is the best treatment? laser, radio, surgery?
2020005 tn?1628125976 Hey there, i just want to say dnp47 that was a wonderful post! thank you! I agree, I would show it to the doctor. At least just so they are updated on whats going on with your body. I also have heard, if it doesn't go away after the baby, that apple cider vinegar (with the mother in it) can be applied to the area to help varicose veins. I haven't had any to see if it works yet on myself but if you are curious to try its an idea to look up and try.
Avatar n tn If it is a varicocele, it can cause the sperm count to drop to zero by heating the testicles. But varicoceles are in the scrotal area, not on the penis itself. Easiest way to find out if the varicose vein you are seeing has any effect is to have him get his sperm count tested.
Avatar f tn Varicose veins are gnarled, enlarged veins. Any vein may become varicose, but the veins most commonly affected are those in your legs and feet. That's because standing and walking upright increases the pressure in the veins of your lower body. Sometimes varicose veins lead to more-serious problems. Varicose veins may also signal a higher risk of other circulatory problems. Treatment may involve self-care measures or procedures by your doctor to close or remove veins.
Avatar m tn Varicose veins are in some cases unavoidable. Many times, there are ways to naturally prevent and soothe them. Get plenty of exercise to get your blood circulating, Elevate your legs on pillows daily for 10 minutes or more, Avoid excess weight gain, Dry-brush your legs daily to improve circulation. (This can prevent varicose veins from forming.) Use a natural-bristle brush with a long handle that allows you to reach all parts of your body.
Avatar f tn Hello, sorry about he delay in answering your question. Inner thigh pain and groin pain are common with varicose veins. Also, calf pain is included in that. Please see your doctor if you have not already. Let us know if you have seen them and what they have said. Here is an older question about this answered by a MedHelp doctor https://www.medhelp.org/posts/Blood-Disorders/Varicose-veins---inner-thigh-pain-/show/2027668 Here is some basic information on the condition as a whole.
Avatar f tn Varicose veins are painful, I would mention it to your doc as they will be able to tell the difference between them and blood clots, I'm nlt sure that blood clots are usually visible, but you are def better to get them checked out. There are treatments for varicose veins in injection form which really hell, but I'm not sure if that could be done while you are pregmant. Your doc will be able to advise best.
