varicose veins in pregnancy labia

I called my aunt who is an OB Nurse practitioner and she said that it is a vaginal varicose vein that is common with pregnancy (I I never has this before and no varicose veins any where else)..................anyone else have/had this. I feel deformed; like I am not self conscious enough while pregnant I get this!!!! Anyone??????

I know exactly how you feel. I thought I had a hernia until I had an ultra sound done found out I was actually 17 weeks pregnant. I'm now almost 30 weeks and they have progressed. down into my left labia. It is very painful and I have found that standing or work on my feet for more than an hour or more gets unbearable. I am told by my doctor They will disappear after birth but I am also worried I won't be able to have a vbac. I will be.

Oh Im so sorry to say this but unless you have them removed with a laser the swelling will go down after delivery but they will never go away. I got them with my 3rd pregnancy and with my fourth pregnancy they werent that bad and now they hurt and are like bulging out of my skin. I only have them on my right leg but theyre embarrasing.

ok for the last month I have been experiencing swelling in my left labia minora. It wasnt a big deal before but now is getting bigger and it feels bruised. I also noticed it was dry too. I am 9 months pregnant and I'm not sure it is related to pregnancy or not. I have no other symtoms, no sores, no burning, or iching. please help me in finding an answer!

I am now 33 weeks pregnant and getting more and more scared of the delivery as I have bad varicose veins on my right labia. I feel them when I blow my nose and I can't imagine pushing the baby out feeling the veins getting bigger as I push!!!! My GP recommended a C section, which I would love but it's not up to her. The obstetrician will decide. How likely is it for the veins to burst while delivering? What about episiotomy? How can I make sure I can have a C section?

Just discovered a wonderful case of varicose veins on my labia majora!!! I'm in so much pain and I can barely walk! Any one else experience this and is there any way to relieve the pain???

I have been on modified bed rest since early August due to varicose veins in my right leg and my labia/groin. They are thick, blue, raised, and incredibly painful. Try ice for 20 minutes on and off and nothing too tight for underwear. They do go down after delivery as this is also my third pregnancy and I had them with my second as well.good luck.

I ended up having a part of a varicose vein removed in March at least the bulging part. In my second pregnancy I developed a varicose vein on my labia which has since gone away but I am pretty sure that appears and gets worse with additional pregnancies. My biggest fear is death (pulmonary embolism) and not being here for my girls. Otherwise I am 110% ready for another baby. I did have my first miscarriage at 6 weeks this Jan. I thought I was invincible to that till then.

I did some research and came across vaginal varicose veins which are very similar in color to the thing I have. Should I consult my gynecologist or dermatologist??

Have any of you experienced varicous veins in your vagina and/or labia? I noticed mine many many weeks ago, but the doctor varified what they were three weeks ago. It gets so sore throughout the day, its just terrible. I guess im just wonder if you guys have any tips for me besides putting my feet up...... Im 25 weeks and 0 days!!

Varicose veins are painful, I would mention it to your doc as they will be able to tell the difference between them and blood clots, I'm nlt sure that blood clots are usually visible, but you are def better to get them checked out. There are treatments for varicose veins in injection form which really hell, but I'm not sure if that could be done while you are pregmant. Your doc will be able to advise best.

The unfortunate reality is that most pregnant women will have some degree of failure in their leg veins at least during the pregnancy. This is due to multiple factors that all produce challenges. The volume of circulating blood increases substantially. Hormones that allow the uterus to stretch and expand also allow leg veins to do the same, making the valves in these vessels incompetent.

I wanted to know if varicose veins will diminish after pregnancy especially in genitals?

The doctor said that it's normal during pregnancy. It isn't varicose veins, it's just more blood flowing down there.

Maybe it's varicose veins? They can act up in that area when you are pregnant. Ask your doctor about that possibility. I'm not sure what they can do to help. Ice packs and making sure you stay regular might help some. Good luck. I'm sorry you are in pain.

hi all.. im 18+2days and one of my veins in my legs is noticeable and warm to touch, do you think its veroise vains or something worse, i suffer from anxiety and every little thing is panicking me!!

Has anyone gotten them before? I'm preg with #6 and I think I have signs of them. I'm concerned because on my mother's side the women have them severely (to the point my sister almost lost a leg in pregnancy).

When I lean against something (like the bathroom vanity), it feels like a big bruise. These are not spider veins or varicose. They look like normal veins except that they're very noticable and only on the upper region of my right thigh. I wouldn't be worried about them except for the fact that they feel like a bruise. This year in May I stopped taking the birth control pills and a couple months later I noticed on my legs bulging varicose veins. The onset seemed to be quite sudden. Could the fact that I stopped taking the birth control pills caused the sudden onset of the varicose veins?

I thought it might because of poor circulation, but I am also having terrible pains in the surrounding areas of my vulva and labia. My doctor checked it out when I went last Monday and said everything looked okay, and that it could get worse, but I am unsure of the purple/red color was there or not.
