Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with pelvic congestion syndrome (varicose veins in my pelvic region) about 2 1/2 years ago. I've been experiencing daily debiliating headaches for about the past year. I've been to two different neurologists, two pain clinics and seen my primary doctor about 15 times. On my last visit with the pain specialist, he asked why no one had pursued the issue of my varicose veins.
155701 tn?1230047101 When I lean against something (like the bathroom vanity), it feels like a big bruise. These are not spider veins or varicose. They look like normal veins except that they're very noticable and only on the upper region of my right thigh. I wouldn't be worried about them except for the fact that they feel like a bruise. Any ideas?
Avatar f tn I actually also have PCS syndrome, along with IC etc. PCS is basically varicose veins the Pelvic Region. The blood flow in the region basically backs up in the ovaries, the same way, or at lest it feel like it to me, urine back up in the kidney with a kidney stone stuck in the ureter, (I have lot of stones too). The blood flow usually decreases when we get off our feet and put them up. This is why it is often hard to diagnose.

The good news is that the bulk of these changes reverse after delivery. The best thing to do during the pregnancy is to wear support hose. The gentle compression negates much of the stasis and minimizes the symptoms.
Avatar f tn I was also told this Varicosities of the uterus may require hysterectomy for relief. Sometimes congested pelvic veins can be embolized but that depends in part on which veins are affected. Presacral neurectomy might also potentially reduce pain.
Avatar f tn My best friend got varicose veins in her lady parts when she was pregnant last year. Doc told her it was the weight of the baby putting too much pressure on her veins bur that there was nothing she could do. He told her once she delivered it would go away. But it looked like exactly that varicose veins n they hurt her.

Avatar m tn If your varicose vein is close to where it's bothering you at your inner thigh, then it's the varicose vein doing this. They are painful. The cause of your varicose vein can be several things, including diabetes. If your varicose vein is somewhere lower on your leg than the burning of your inner thigh, then I think it's probably poor circulation going on in that leg, which would associate the two problems.
Avatar f tn Been having leg cramps all day and also pelvic pain. Am totally in a pissd off mood. Anything i can try to get rid of the damn leg cramps.
Business woman1 Hello, Some of the causes of vaginal and pelvic pain include persistent vaginal yeast infection, endometriosis, interstitial cystitis, vaginitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, pelvic floor tension myalgia, pelvic congestion syndrome due to varicose veins or vulvodynia. You need to get a physical examination done from a gynecologist to confirm the diagnosis.
Avatar f tn You really need to see a doctor. This has nothing to do with your watching porn, so you don't have to tell the doctor that, but you definitely need to get this checked. It could be something like a varicocele, which is a varicose vein in the scrotum, but you definitely need to get it checked. Don't make yourself suffer any longer. Just get it checked. Let us know what happens.
Avatar f tn Hey, I'm 23 weeks, I to have noticed I've got some bulging veins in that area. I'm assuming it's from the extra weight and pressure. Haven't talked to dr about it but I would think when we're on the pot do business to hurry and get off, since sitting to long on it applies more pressure in that region. Sorry I couldn't help you....
Avatar m tn Varicose veins usually result from failures in valves in veins connecting the superficial veins to the deep system in your legs. This is a mechanical problem. No medicine can restore this function. Horse chestnut extracts have been studied and appear to decrease the swelling due to venous insufficiency but the appearance is unchanged.
1138687 tn?1548643978 Hi, I am wondering why there isn't a varicose veins forum!? Where else might I post my varicose veins concerns? I posted in the Deep Vein Thrombosis forum but noticed it is rarely used. I'm not certain but isn't DVT a result of varicose veins? And if varicose veins are more common, with DVT being a side affect, then Why not change that forum to Varicose Veins? Regardless shouldn't there be a forum for varicose veins?
Avatar f tn I hope I don't get morning sickness again I had that first 5 months. She's putting so much pressure on me I have varicose veins popping out down there too so that makes it so much more uncomfortable. She's been low this whole pregnancy.
Avatar n tn If you already have varicose veins you may have some doubts about taking birth control pills. If your varicose veins are mild and are not a symptom of a more serious condition, your doctor may agree to prescribe a low-dose estrogen pill. In this case it's up to you to decide what your priorities are. You may feel that the advantages of taking the pill outweigh the risk of varicose veins. That said I doubt if taking the pill would stop the problem! Ask the doctor for his/her opinion.
Avatar f tn Well this is a strange story but last year when my best friend was pregnant, one day she called me n sent me a pic on my phone of her vagina (weird) she was panicking because it looked purple n like she has varicose veins. She ended up going to her doctor n was told that that was exactly what it was.. varicose veins that happen during pregnancy. Due to bad circulation because of the added pressure on her pelvic veins. As soon as she delivered it went away.
Avatar n tn The intensity varies from person to person. This could be due to nerve compression, fatigue, pelvic inflammatory diseases, low salt--as in sodium and potsaaium etc. "Pregnancy and childbirth have a nasty tendency to cause a number of nagging minor health problems (back pain, hemorrhoids, constipation, varicose veins, to name a few) or to reveal dormant ones. 2020005 tn?1628125976 Hey there, i just want to say dnp47 that was a wonderful post! thank you! I agree, I would show it to the doctor. At least just so they are updated on whats going on with your body. I also have heard, if it doesn't go away after the baby, that apple cider vinegar (with the mother in it) can be applied to the area to help varicose veins. I haven't had any to see if it works yet on myself but if you are curious to try its an idea to look up and try.
Avatar f tn Varicose veins are gnarled, enlarged veins. Any vein may become varicose, but the veins most commonly affected are those in your legs and feet. That's because standing and walking upright increases the pressure in the veins of your lower body. Sometimes varicose veins lead to more-serious problems. Varicose veins may also signal a higher risk of other circulatory problems. Treatment may involve self-care measures or procedures by your doctor to close or remove veins.
Avatar m tn Varicose veins are in some cases unavoidable. Many times, there are ways to naturally prevent and soothe them. Get plenty of exercise to get your blood circulating, Elevate your legs on pillows daily for 10 minutes or more, Avoid excess weight gain, Dry-brush your legs daily to improve circulation. (This can prevent varicose veins from forming.) Use a natural-bristle brush with a long handle that allows you to reach all parts of your body.
