I have them! They are supposed to go away after delivery. I'm 35wks and I have became more swollen the further in my pregnancy I have gotten. Only solution is having the baby...If they don't go away after pregnancy my Dr. said some women have to see a vascular specialist but I think that's rare. They're not fun but I think most of the time they are harmless. Good luck!

I wanted to know if varicose veins will diminish after pregnancy especially in genitals?

Oh Im so sorry to say this but unless you have them removed with a laser the swelling will go down after delivery but they will never go away. I got them with my 3rd pregnancy and with my fourth pregnancy they werent that bad and now they hurt and are like bulging out of my skin. I only have them on my right leg but theyre embarrasing.

Compression stocking may help, but not something you can really wear with shorts. They may fade or go away after you have the baby.

My left labia has been like this for 18 years. My first child caused this. It did NOT go away after birth. I'm almost 40 now and it's starting to bother me. I've always been self conscious about it. It's larger then the right side and always purple..what can I do to fix this permanently?

I didn't realize until this pregnancy that u can get vericose veins in ur vaginal area. I was wonder if other mom have had this or have this now.

It is a bump with a little mini nodule on it. My doctor said it was ok and would go away over time, but i have had it for several months and its still there. Are there any things i can do at home to help it go away? like ice or something?

If you already have varicose veins you may have some doubts about taking birth control pills. If your varicose veins are mild and are not a symptom of a more serious condition, your doctor may agree to prescribe a low-dose estrogen pill. In this case it's up to you to decide what your priorities are. You may feel that the advantages of taking the pill outweigh the risk of varicose veins. That said I doubt if taking the pill would stop the problem! Ask the doctor for his/her opinion.

I called my aunt who is an OB Nurse practitioner and she said that it is a vaginal varicose vein that is common with pregnancy (I I never has this before and no varicose veins any where else)..................anyone else have/had this. I am not sure if I have varicose veins or not. I am around 50 lbs overweight and 6 1/2 weeks pregnant. My legs are aching really bad from the knees to my ankles. I do have some small prominent blue bulging veins near the surface, but they have been there for years and never hurt. Can a person have them so deep that you can't see it? I fell last week and have some very deep and large contusions on the front of my right leg. My calves seem to be slightly swollen, but my ankles are normal.

I noticed that after giving birth to my fifth child I developed thick painful varicose veins on both legs. I felt embarrassed because as women we are expected to look beautiful all of the time. Sometime people get varicose veins in there legs and bag while pregnant and they stay swollen the whole pregnancy which is very uncomfortable, however the once in the vag do go away after pregnancy unlike the ones in the legs which tends to stay. Hope this helped and good luck moms to be.

I'm on my 4th pregnancy And I started getting them in my 2nd pregnancy. The veins started to get more visible around my right ankle and I don't know how to explain it but on the back of my right calf I ended up get something looking like a small bunch of grapes due to the veins. And believe me now my veins r so much visible and feel really bumpy and a lot painful. I can't stand for a long periods of time and can't even do do my house chores.

With my first pregnancy I developed many spider veins on my legs. This pregnancy i have developed some varicose veins. I have one that is protruding on my left inner calf and is right on top of bad spider vein. It is tender to the touch and i can feel a little discomfort walking up and down stairs. Is this normal or could it actually be a blood clot? It is not warm to the touch just painful and tender.
