Varicose veins getting worse

Common Questions and Answers about Varicose veins getting worse

varicose-veins

Avatar f tn Varicose veins are gnarled, enlarged veins. Any vein may become varicose, but the veins most commonly affected are those in your legs and feet. That's because standing and walking upright increases the pressure in the veins of your lower body. Sometimes varicose veins lead to more-serious problems. Varicose veins may also signal a higher risk of other circulatory problems. Treatment may involve self-care measures or procedures by your doctor to close or remove veins.
Avatar m tn Is the weather warming up too? Your veins get way more noticeable in warm weather and if you've lost some weight with all that stress, you will notice them even more. You could be getting some ankle/feet swelling from your varicose veins due to the warm weather. Anxiety will take any normal physical sensation and pick away at it, until that is all you can feel. Everyone can feel their veins in hot weather if they concentrate, I reckon. Good luck.
Avatar f tn t know how to explain it but on the back of my right calf I ended up get something looking like a small bunch of grapes due to the veins. And believe me now my veins r so much visible and feel really bumpy and a lot painful. I can't stand for a long periods of time and can't even do do my house chores. Ended up having a cleaner and also can't live without my compressions they r a life saver.
9062499 tn?1426957962 Ouch: getting annoyed with these varicose veins. They wont let me stand for more than 10 mins. Any mommies out there who knows how to deal with them? I would really appreciate it.
Avatar n tn Since the onset was so sudden after stopping the birth control pills, do you think if I started to take the birth control again it might or could stop the varicose veins getting worse?
Avatar f tn Prop your legs up and elevate them, you could try regular exercise which helps (if you are cleared for activity), losing some weight if you need to and compression stockings can help keep them from getting worse. If they do get worse or they really worry you, then see your doctor now about them. There are good treatments these days. https://www.mayoclinic.
Avatar f tn This pregnancy i have developed some varicose veins. I have one that is protruding on my left inner calf and is right on top of bad spider vein. It is tender to the touch and i can feel a little discomfort walking up and down stairs. Is this normal or could it actually be a blood clot? It is not warm to the touch just painful and tender.
1032669 tn?1252456404 I called my aunt who is an OB Nurse practitioner and she said that it is a vaginal varicose vein that is common with pregnancy (I I never has this before and no varicose veins any where else)..................anyone else have/had this. I feel deformed; like I am not self conscious enough while pregnant I get this!!!! Anyone??????
Avatar f tn My legs ache all the time and my varicose veins have been hurting. Why are they hurting so early? Is this normal?
Avatar m tn Then about a year after that i started to develop really noticeable spider veins underneath them as well (along with redness getting slightly worse).
Avatar f tn I've dealt with varicose veins with all 3 of my pregnancies. It will get worse as your pregnancy progresses. I wear compression socks all day every day except when I'm sleeping. It helps with the heaviness and pain. They get significantly better after birth. Also if you exercise regularly and don't gain too much that helps keep them in control too.
Avatar n tn I've been on the Nuva Ring for almost two and a half years. My whole family is very fair-skinned, so I've always had very visible veins my whole life. However, it wasn't until I began the Ring that I noticed my first varicose veins on my right calf. I didn't see the connection at the time, but now it's two years later and the same leg is in so much pain almost regularly, and I'm almost positive it is because of the Ring.
1138687 tn?1548643978 Hi, I am looking for support for my varicose veins! I have what would be considered a pretty severe case and I'm only 31 and male. I've had them since youth, but after all the chaos in my life in that past 5 yrs, I haven't been in touch with my body as much as usual!
1840402 tn?1355432565 hi all.. im 18+2days and one of my veins in my legs is noticeable and warm to touch, do you think its veroise vains or something worse, i suffer from anxiety and every little thing is panicking me!!
Avatar f tn I'm 32 weeks and recently noticed my vagina is very swollen, especially on one side. From what I've been reading (I have an appointment with my OB early next week) I have vulvar varicose veins. Does anyone else have this or have had them? I'm afraid they will get worse and won't go away.
Avatar f tn -) im 29 weeks pregnant today and almost since the beginning of this pregnancy I have been struggling with those horrible varicose veins on my very private parts. Not only it is painful and uncomfortable but I also feel like a complete freak because no other women I spoke with had suffered from them. Am I really the only one here having them?
Avatar m tn Varicose veins usually result from failures in valves in veins connecting the superficial veins to the deep system in your legs. This is a mechanical problem. No medicine can restore this function. Horse chestnut extracts have been studied and appear to decrease the swelling due to venous insufficiency but the appearance is unchanged.
1138687 tn?1548643978 Hi, I am wondering why there isn't a varicose veins forum!? Where else might I post my varicose veins concerns? I posted in the Deep Vein Thrombosis forum but noticed it is rarely used. I'm not certain but isn't DVT a result of varicose veins? And if varicose veins are more common, with DVT being a side affect, then Why not change that forum to Varicose Veins? Regardless shouldn't there be a forum for varicose veins?
Avatar f tn My best friend got varicose veins in her lady parts when she was pregnant last year. Doc told her it was the weight of the baby putting too much pressure on her veins bur that there was nothing she could do. He told her once she delivered it would go away. But it looked like exactly that varicose veins n they hurt her.
Avatar f tn her sister had severe varicose veins. I never did, but I took a lot ofvitamin E in my health nut days (also never had stretch marks). But I was wondering how much pain, written off as fibro, might be vascular? I would guess that people w/EDS might have varicose veins too. Sometimes I feel like that's where pain is, because it'snot in my joints. My veins are very close to the surface. Anyone?
Avatar f tn Not to bad yet though but is definitely getting worse. I also have noticed vericose veins in adomen. 2 veins, one coming up each side. They also seem to be growing slowly. I also have very prominent veins in my arms, hands and feet. My legs and feet get very soar when I stand still and I almost always need to put my feet up after walking. I am very healthy, active and not overweight. My mother had vericose veins but nothing to the extent that I do. Has anyone else had a similar problem?
Avatar m tn I have seen so many recommendations for getting rid of varicose veins. All are complicated and none promise total cure (not even surgery because new veins become varicosed). My legs are completely clear - there is not a spot or blotch to be seen. I am sorry that I never took a picture of them at their most horrible, but it never occurred to me that the condition would be cured.
Avatar f tn In response to your question, the varicose veins are blown out veins carrying blood backwards and adding to the burden of the normal veins. Getting them out of the system lightens the load on the normal ones. The only exception is when the deep venous system is occluded and the varicosity is the only way blood can return to the heart. This should be obvious with an appropriate duplex doppler study.
Avatar f tn I started her antibiotics again hoping it will help and settle her inflammation which I believe is making her veins even worse. The only thing that seems to help is coffee twice sometimes three times a day. I hear that it restricts the veins while supplying blood flow. Is there any naturual herbs for her that would help veins. Also she has been on a rather healthy diet to lose weight and she always feels worse after she goes on a diet.
