This year in May I stopped taking the birth control pills and a couple months later I noticed on my legs bulging varicose veins. The onset seemed to be quite sudden. Could the fact that I stopped taking the birth control pills caused the sudden onset of the varicose veins?

Hi, I am wondering why there isn't a varicose veins forum!? Where else might I post my varicose veins concerns? I posted in the Deep Vein Thrombosis forum but noticed it is rarely used. I'm not certain but isn't DVT a result of varicose veins? And if varicose veins are more common, with DVT being a side affect, then Why not change that forum to Varicose Veins? Regardless shouldn't there be a forum for varicose veins?

I am 24weeks pregnant & a couple of days ago I noticed a HUGE varicose vein down th inside of my left thigh coming from my undie line & towards my knee, it's about 30cm long :( anyone else have this problem? Anything I can or should do about it?

Thanks for your advice. They checked to see if my blood wasl clotting is that what you mean by platelet count? I don't think it's from varicose veins. I had the same feeling agian today it seems when I do alot of physical activity my legs feel like some one is giving them charlie horses?

In this case it's up to you to decide what your priorities are. You may feel that the advantages of taking the pill outweigh the risk of varicose veins. Note that when you have laser treatment it destroys the veins so the blood will go to other veins and the problem will most likely return.
