1580703 tn?1651904887 I dont suggest laser treatment or surgery for the varicose veins problem.I dont have experience too .I treat my varicose veins with venorid and got rid of it.
Avatar n tn Note that when you have laser treatment it destroys the veins so the blood will go to other veins and the problem will most likely return.
Avatar f tn Sclerotherapy is another common treatment for both spider veins and varicose veins. In this procedure with the help of a needle a liquid chemical is injected into the vein. This causes swelling in vein and collapsing .This stops the flow of blood, and the vein turns into scar tissue. This procedure can be done without general anesthesia and does not lead to inference in the daily activities. Laser techniques can help in curing small varicose veins. Discuss these possibilities with your doctor.
Avatar n tn Hi, Spider Veins are thin, threadlike veins, often red or blue in color and shaped like a spider’s web. Spider veins are similar to varicose veins, but much smaller and closer to your skin’s surface. Also like varicose veins, spider veins are connected to a larger venous system; however, they serve no essential part of it. Spider veins are simply broken capillaries or burst blood vessels with no biological purpose.
Avatar f tn My veins are very prominent and I had some varicose and ventricular ones on my legs but not to the extent of yours. They never stripped as I caught them early. They did a doplar and then administered saline injections. Once the ventricular veins had collapsed, they used laser for the smaller ones. I go in every few years and have them laser veins that are beginning to show. When My legs ache I wear those "peds" and elevate my feet at home...helps me.
Avatar m tn Hello, From your symptoms it looks like spider veins or varicose veins penis. The varicose vein on the penis does not require any treatment. It may bruise during sexual intercourse and thus wearing of a condom is highly recommended. Also use of lubricants is recommended during masturbation or during sexual intercourse to avoid bruising the vein. No other treatment is required. In fact most of the treatment like laser treatment will cause scarring, infection, nerve and vascular damage.
Avatar m tn Doctors can also do therapies for varicose veins that include things like laser therapy, schlerotherapy, vein stripping, etc. I'd continue to work on her doctor following the prevention strategies they give her.
Avatar m tn Newer, less invasive treatments, such as radiofrequency ablation and endovenous laser treatment, are slowly replacing traditional surgical treatments.
1762441 tn?1318971154 My son had the ELT and and although it was a painful recovery (7-10 days...and he won't take pain meds) he is very happy that he had it done. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn I had EVRF Laser treatment in mid June (2 months and 3 weeks at the time of this post), to remove my greater saphenous vein. I felt the normal / expected after effects, including heaviness, soreness, and some small sharp pains, up until one month after the procedure. Then about 2 weeks after that, i started feeling my thigh heavy again, and now at almost 3 months i'm feeling some occasional little pains on various parts of the leg (both thigh and lower leg).
Avatar n tn In fact most of the treatment like laser treatment will cause scarring, infection, nerve and vascular damage. So in my opinion, you should leave them as such. Hope it helps.
Avatar m tn Horse chestnut is the best-known natural treatment for varicose veins. It helps prevent swelling and strengthens capillary and vein walls. The usual dose is 300 mg a day. Side effects are pretty rare, but if you start feeling itchy or nauseous, taper back your dose. Nature’s Way has a widely available, quality product. Grape seed extract also supports the walls of blood vessels. Take 150 to 300 mg in divided doses over the course of a day. I like the Activin product.
Avatar f tn Noooooo! I Just got out of the shower and put lotion on, and I felt on the back of my leg what I thought was maybe a scratch from my dog, but it was a vein! I am really upset right now. I never got it with my last pregnancy, but then again I wasnt active backthen. I'm 36weeks. Has anyone ever gotten them with past pregnancies? Do they go away?
Avatar f tn Is it beneficial to have laser surgery for lumpy twisted varicose veins ? . Is one doing harm by putting off surgery indefinitely? I wonder if it prevents risk of dvt or stasis ulcers ? Do the veins just grow back? How long does the surgery tend to last? How does one stay as healthy as possible. Personally I find compression hose hot ,cumbersome so rarely use them. I miss wearing shorts in public and I put up with some leg cramps now and then.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar f tn In response to your question, the varicose veins are blown out veins carrying blood backwards and adding to the burden of the normal veins. Getting them out of the system lightens the load on the normal ones. The only exception is when the deep venous system is occluded and the varicosity is the only way blood can return to the heart. This should be obvious with an appropriate duplex doppler study.
Avatar f tn Varicose veins are gnarled, enlarged veins. Any vein may become varicose, but the veins most commonly affected are those in your legs and feet. That's because standing and walking upright increases the pressure in the veins of your lower body. Sometimes varicose veins lead to more-serious problems. Varicose veins may also signal a higher risk of other circulatory problems. Treatment may involve self-care measures or procedures by your doctor to close or remove veins.

Avatar f tn This pregnancy i have developed some varicose veins. I have one that is protruding on my left inner calf and is right on top of bad spider vein. It is tender to the touch and i can feel a little discomfort walking up and down stairs. Is this normal or could it actually be a blood clot? It is not warm to the touch just painful and tender.
Avatar n tn Age is not a factor, from teens to older adults can get varicose veins on the penis or scrotum (and other places). These type of varicose veins can range in size with most the size of a BB or smaller (or bigger). Inspect it closely. If it seems to follow or be "on top" of a vein, this is probably what you have. There is usually little to no pain associated with these type of varicose veins (scrotum varicose veins can cause pain).
Avatar n tn Luckily, the appearance of such varicose veins can be greatly reduced with the right treatment.
Avatar n tn Hello and hope you are doing well. Varicose veins are caused by hormone changes, exposure to the sun, and injuries. Few predisposing factors for developing varicose veins are prolonged standing or sitting, chronic constipation, menstrual cycle, birth control pills/estrogen replacement therapy, obesity, sedentary lifestyle, pregnancy etc.It may not be possible to determine the exact cause of your symptoms without a detailed evaluation.
Avatar f tn I have a varicose vein on my leg (on back of my quad), I'm only 21 years old and it is slowly spreading slightly onto my calf muscle now. It is also beginning to ache.Would I be priority in having it removed or will doctors just leave it as it is?
Avatar f tn not vascular and had horrible varicose veins up and down both legs by the age of 20. Just a few years ago I had my veins pulled out and the Dr said that I was 1 of the 3 worst cases he had ever seen and the other 2 were elderly. My skin hurts all the time...even getting a pedicure when they rub your legs hurts.
