valtrex pills

What is the possibility of being immune to Valtrex? Is there a possibility that after taking Valtrex daily that in a couple years it may no longer be effective?

I currently take Valtrex for cold sore outbreaks, 2 pills at first sign, then 2 pills 12 hours later. Right now I'm traveling overseas and feel an outbreak coming on. Unfortunately, I only have 2 Valtrex pills left, and I'm having a hard time reaching my doctor back home to renew this prescription (there are no refills left on this one.) I did take the first dose of Valtrex, thinking I had 12 hours to reach my dr and have the rx called in, however I haven't been able to reach him.

I found two separate prescription bottles of Valtrex in my girlfriends' closet. One from January and one from April. Both are for 10 pills and both bottles are full of all 10 pills. So she hasn't taken any...what does this mean? She's never mentioned having herpes and I've obviously never suspected it but just don't understand why someone would have two full prescriptions for Valtrex...

Ok I was prescribed valtrex from my doctor. on the prescription it said I supposed to take it every 24 hours for 10 days but there's 30 pills n the bottle. Yesterday was the 10th day but I still have the break outs, this is rlly driving me crazy!

My Dr. wrote a prescription for 1gm daily pill of Valtrex. I already have stomach problems and am trying to minimize potential side effects with highest drug efficacy. Seems logical to take 2 pills at 500mg/pill instead. Would this reduce stomach upset and/or improve absorption of drug? Thx in advance.

She has been on Valtrex pills and has never had an outbreak since her first one a year ago. That night, I was fully clothed and only took out my penis from my zipper fly. I used a condom as well. At one point, the condom rolled up to the middle of my penis as were doing it but I quickly rolled it down (my penis head was not exposed). Hello, I have oral HSV1 and want to take something daily to help prevent outbreaks and to keep virus at bay. I have a prescription for valtrex, but usually only take when i have an outbreak. Should I take that everyday? Any thoughts on Red Algae or Lysine.. has anyone had success with these? Would anyone recommend to take daily? Also, have been ready about a new light therapy called virulite, anyone heard of this?

I used acyclovir, and I believe it was 4 days I was given a one day treatment of Valtrex. 4 pills 2 times in one day, in all 8 pills. I can't remember what size they were. My blisters have improved dramatically, and the swelling in my lip seems to have completely subsided. My question is this. After having taken the valtrex, am I know much less contagious? Let me be more clear. When I look at my lips closely, I see what I think could be remaining small blisters.

I was curious since I have been taking Valtex as a daily suppressive if the classic triggers would not reactivate the virus? Meaning, they say nuts are number 1. Before I was on the pills I am not sure if this was a trigger or not, think stress was my main one, coffee never did a thing. Also, does Valtrex or Lysine cause yeast? Can too much Lysine cause an outbreak? If 500 mg of Valtrex reduces transmission by 50%, then does 1 mg per day suppressive reduce it more? I have HSV2.

Ive been taking acyclovir (generic for zovirax) for about a year now. my doctor said its the same drug as valtrex but with valtrex you can get away with taking it once a day. I also dont have insurance and can not afford valtrex so thats why im taking this generic. I take 400mg acyclovir twice a day (which was very hard to get used to, but you have to!) and I get 180 pills (90 days) at Hy-Vee (grocery store) and Sam's club for $10. Other pharmacies charge upwards of $80 for just 30 days.

One more quick question and then I think I am done, sorry. If a person takes a week or two of Valtrex how will that affect testing? I know that you have stated that you don't want to delay the antibody test. Can you advise as to how much is too much? A month in he got what the doctors thought could be shingles and gave him a script for Valtrex. Get yourself a suppressive therapy script with extra pills for flare ups. I get 100 500mg pills per month. 1 per day, with 10 extra in case of a flare up. Hi there I have been hsv2 + for about a year now. I have always been taking valtrex 500mg once a day. Today I got my boyfriend to pick up a new batch of pills as I was sick and he came home with a new generic brand of valtrex. This kind of mad me mad as I have no idea if they are the same or not and I thought i should have a choice to switch not just be switched over. My new bottle says CPL Pms-Valacyclovir 500mg instead of CPL valtrex valacyclovir HCI 500mg.

What is the procedure for getting a Valtrex prescription?? Every time I go to this doctor I go to, he writes me a prescription for 3 months. And when the refills are up calling in to ask for more is not an option. They actually want you to come into the office. I don't have time to keep doing this. And I really don't see the point!?!? What needs to be looked at? Nothing is going to change!
